Re: # 5 ejazharoon: NCC would be so much fun though in the end I really got fed up and this piece is about one of those last days.

Re: # 3 hitman: She (her family) turned out to be my friends' friends in the US. I am not sure whether I still want to talk with her or not but yes, she is a part of good memories :-)

Why on earth did the editors decide to publish this.
good enough for high school maybe but certainly did not meet the standards here on chowk.
A disappointing read indeed.

Your article brought back memories of college and NCC from way back in time (1985), it would have been a nice day trip to the outskirts of Karachi except for the heat, dust, crowd and deafening noise. I'm a very fortunate person, I got good grades and became an actuarial trainee at State Life, went to the Emirates, and eventually ended up in the States. It would have been such a waste had I taken the beaten path.

Touching piece about simple incidents in life that leave a lasting impression, good writing.

aw, this is so sweet. i hope you do get to talk to her some day and be friends with her. the shy lot usually has to go through times like these, and i just hope that they were understood by others more.
