@2, will not deign to a retort, and I had many in my mind, considering the fact that the article is about a person I idolized as a child....nevetheless,if you are alluding to Punjabi, Mohajir debate, you obviously has missed the point.. Samad's parents hailed from Amritsar, and he was a Kashmiri and not a Punjabi....so beat it!

I knew Samad for many long years.
First, the gym of Griffen and then the streets of Beadon Road. Elder to me by a few years, we fought the junior central zone championship togather in the 60s and efcourse, if Don Basco was not enough, we from St. Anthony's also had to contend with Khazana Gate.
My colleagus who accompanied were the three ROSE Brothers, Nigel, Brian and Clyde, the last my colleague and Boby Sanaullah. All Champs.
RIP Dear Samad Mir

Dear readers:
My sincere apologies for a number of typos and spelling mistakes; normally I am very careful about editing, however this time around I was either too anxious to get this piece on board or too traumatized..In any event please indulge with me whilst reading this piece and ignore the "to obvious". Above all, I am ashamed that I fell short of delivering what could have been a perfect eulogy for a true son of the soil. My apologies Uncle Samad!!!!
