Pakistan Is Plagued By An Environment Of Distrust

1. Musharaff lied to Americans about Daniel pearls death. Omar sheikh had already surrendered to ISI bosses, after Daniels death and Musharaff was on his trip to USA then.
2. Gilani went to America, in his first visit, with a present to Bush, saying that Pakistan army has taken action on Haqqani faction. It was complete whitewash, the Americans had prior info on the plot. Pakistani`s had already warned Haqqani about the attack!
3. A Q Khan, is the guy who sent a few of his learned colleagues to OBL : Hey Sheikh, would you been needing a couple of nukes?

Are theese characters who can inspire trust? sadly its people like this who lead Pakistan, and therein lies her trouble.

"that the people hold with respect to the global war against terror that has been thrust upon them by the Bush-Musharraf coterie." This presumption is not CORRECT.It has been thrust by Osama bin Laden,Mohd Umar and Taliban.Now when war is thrust you either defeat enemy who has thrust it,and NOT blame people fighting it. CAN YOU BLAME PAK ARMY FOR THE WAR??

It is understandable that Pakistanis are confused and disillusioned. But I fear that almost every thing is rotten in Augean stables. For the USA in regards to their assistance to Pakistan they are doomed if they do and they are doomed if they do not. Pakistan is in serious mess and their ruling elite have let their people down miserably. For Pakistanis they can not live the USA but they can not live without the USA.
