The article doesnt mention the extra-judicial executions of Palestinians by the Israelis neither does it mention the illegal wars of the American elite, and CIA operations like the Phoenix Program in Vietnam that involved similar things, meaning that the so called ``champions of the free world`` he mentions are actually the worst violators of human rights.

The essay certainly brings attention to human rights violations and is well-written, but the analysis is less than probing. The conclusion:

`` some action must be taken
by the `champions` of the free world to reduce
the plight of people thus oppressed. ``

is a bit lacking. It reduces the essay to a compilation of tragic events and the human rights charter that these violate.

A more probing look at it all and some suggestion of what can be done would have given the writing more depth.

Perhaps the interact space can be used for that.
