I dont know much about Insha, but have read almost everything written by Manto. To present Manto like this...is nothing short of insult to the best urdu writer the world has seen so far.You should be ashamed!

some how you tried to creat humor in comparing the two different styles in literature. i, after reading manto in detail and also playing/ directing manto` s stories donot see any competition b/w the two great writers. both belong to two seperate schools and were giants in their own stands. i fail to see humor in your style. but keep writnig.

To put Manto into the comical realm of Insha
does not do justice to Manto, the finest Urdu Short Story writer ever (or even to the satirical genius of Insha).
But I have to admit that reading a screenplay is
not as fulfilling as watching the play itself,
so I am willing to give this effort a chance without being overly critical.

I rather think this work was first written (or imagined) in Urdu (or Punjabi) and something Mar-21-99 13:32:58 ESTIt is really difficult sometimes to READ a Play.
An actual performance would be a much better judge
to the merits of this writing. Although even I have to admit, that to put Manto into an Insha mindset is nothing short of blasphemy to some for his most devout followers.

I rather think this work was first written (or imagined) in Urdu (or Punjabi) and something has been lost in the translation.

Ok, I admit, I am lost.

First of all, why Manto vs Ibn-e-Insha.

Second, I don`t think there was anything in either character that remotely resembled anyone of them.

Third, there are no rules of length here but I believe I have never seen/read a shorter one Act play ever before.

Fourth, I was expecting more elaboration and critique on their writing techniques. Felt dissappointed.

In case you don`t take criticism very well..., I apologize.
