Time magazine includes this in describing the liberation of mazar-i-sharif:
``The Northern Alliance attacked in earnest on Friday night, and the Afghan Taliban soldiers immediately switched sides, while their commanders jumped into pickup trucks and sped south. Only the ``tourists`` — the term Alliance soldiers use for the foreign zealots who make up the most committed of their enemy`s ranks — chose to make a stand. Pockets of Uzbeks, Chechens and Pakistanis held out for up to five days before they were overcome or picked off by snipers.
Around 900 Pakistanis were surrounded in a girls` school, Sultan Razinya, in the southeast of the city. Over three days, the Alliance commanders — Ustad Mohammed Atta, General Rashid Dostum and Haji Mohammed Mohaqiq — say they tried to persuade the Pakistanis to surrender. The Pakistanis refused. By Tuesday afternoon, the commanders had exhausted their patience, and warned civilians living in the area to move away. Then they attacked, and the fighting lasted four hours. The Alliance took just 175 prisoners.``
So, around 700 Pakistanis seem to have been killed at that one spot alone. Who were these pakistanis? most likely boys from poor families sent to madrassahs in hopes of a free education and food and shelter, only to be then sent to support the talibans in afghanistan. the hatred of the afghans for these ``tourists`` makes it obvious that these people were not there as liberators but as part of the oppressors.
Damn the mullahs.

Latif Chappu #1111 ``Keep Aishwarya...`` Good, so the deal is done. Someone please inform her of the deal. We`ll have her run for elections, we`ll have her do TV series. I was getting ready to throw in a couple of goats instead when you rejected ylh, but Paki cricket captains are equally dispensable and you are welcome to take em all (you can see what a great cricket fan I am).
And I think AAmir took care of all remaining bottles of beer (I mean non-alcoholic syrup) with his recent set of posts.

AAmir:
What is your problem? You seem to have inherited YLH`s disease of diarrhea of the keyboard.
I don`t think these 19 irrelevant posts and Latif Chappu and TAhmed321`s posts of `one potato` or `86 bottles of beer on the wall` should count toward the magic goal of 1189 or whatever it is that we are aiming at. I think YLH is perfectly capable of contributing 37 posts during Sunday.
Anyway, the Headshrinker is back defending Hinduism. I hate to think that I have rubbed off on THAT idiot.
