I just wanted to make a comment that instead of shaving your poor head all you had to do was wear a hijab...i am not an extremist at all but i just think that your article was trying to be bolder than you are. For such an aritcle to be writen in pakistan is amazing...such explicit a tone....but i feel that had you reacted at that moment and cursed that frustrated boy out...that would have spoken volumes and made more of a difference than your article which i feel was in bad taste. The sad part is that all us girls of pakistan have been through such things in our bazaars. I live in the USA now and nothing like that has ever happened here, but yes it has happened countless times there in pakistan. Unfortunately your article has no potency because the type of people there who undulge in such behaviour just dont have computers or even know how to read or where to read articles like yours. Therefore i end my notion in saying that your article has done nothing to help the situation at all and in comparison to lots of things that girls have been through in pakistan its nothing, although pitiful and sad. I just feel writing so confidently about one`s own breasts is really not a sign of modernism or courage, but a sign of unneccessary immodesty and an unfruitful way of dealing with what you went through, although its a good way of making people and perverts further read your article,,,, educated perverts maybe , but perverts none the least.
My dear, to counter such things in the future act at the moment and be brave that way....it will be countlessly more effective !

Dear Ayesha,
Hi.
Firstly, there are loads of feminists around in pakistan with loads of boobs.
Secondly, if you did shave off your head in retaliation to what that boy did to you......in the least, it serves no purpose. I don`t see how it can make you feel better or `compensate` in any way.
Thirdly, making yourself `less attractive to men` is not the issue here. Pakistani men are sick and they will continue to get their cheap thrills whether you have hair on your head or not. That`s besides the point. As long as you are a woman, you will be their target. For God`s sake, you`re talking about a race of men who don`t even leave khusra`s/hijra`s.
My point, I know exactly how sick you must feel - i`ve been through similar stuff. But blaming your own physical appearance is not gonna help. Why let these assholes ruin your body and the way you look? Are you being defeated by them?
The only advice I have for you is that you should avoid going to public places without properly covering yourself with a dupatta and try to walk fast through any crowd in a public place. be as discreet as possible.

Samina,
I do agree with you that most of these acts are not usually done by females :)
I have nothing to do with the Pizza establishment but its something which I felt like sharing and the girl thingee was with reference to post # 127.
Regards,
AR

Fatimah:
No one is justifying forced sex. I am just referring to biological differences in men and women.
I have yet to hear of a man who can `perform` with a pistol on his head (unless there is some role-playing game involved). But a forced on women does not require any `effort` on her part.
Do i have to be more explicit? I am getting embarrased!!

``Yes, no woman can have sex with a man with a pistol on his head (unless she is interested in other kinky stuff, which I leave to ur imagination).``
And you are testifying to the fact that men can hold pistol to the head ,CAn ??
is this personal testimony ?

I dont know what is the big fuss about womnen in khi demanding sexual favors from innocent, virgin, and pious delivery boys??
Sexual harassment and or peaceful sexual demands r all about power. When a person has a sense of a power over another, and if he/she wants instant gratification then it is very conducive environment for sexual harassment or peaceful sexual demands.
In most such sexual harassment cases, the victims r either children (boys/girls) or adult women, because both such groups r not that empowered in most of the conservative societies. But in societies where women r relatively more empowered, all sorts of things happen. u can see things from male prostitition to unexpected and unsolcicited sexual demands from boys, men. Yes, no woman can have sex with a man with a pistol on his head (unless she is interested in other kinky stuff, which I leave to ur imagination).
Now back to the old case of pizza delivery boys. If some rich old woman wants a good time with a young boy, give her a break, will u? y condemn her? She is not holding pistol on ur head, is she? Or if I am mistaken did the woman in question, have some strap-on?

AR,
My apologies on mistaking the Pizza serving establishment. If you have been harrassed by a female customer, I offer my sympathies. I dont actually find it funny. Undoubtably rotten eggs turn up in every chicken coop. Its just a little hard to believe, if you`ll forgive this, that it happens with the regularity that it happens to most females.
Now what is a ``girl thingee``?
regards

I was out of town for a few days so unable to check the site but anyway I think I owe some clarifications here .... first of all I never said that they were Pizza Hut guys and infact they were from `Pizza Delivery` place, which has been operating in Karachi before Pizza Hut even opened their branch in Karachi. You girls find it funny that there are some frustrated women out there, but I think we should be able to digest this thing that there are rotten eggs in the society and its not only boys, but that doesnt mean that all the boys or girls have the same kind of mentality.
And for Iran thingee, well frankly speaking I havent been there for long but I didnt see those things while I was there and I asked this thing from my `female` friends as well and according to them too they didnt face any problems as such, but maybe they are wrong and u girls are right. BUT I can assure u about saudia as i have lived there for a couple of years but I havent seen these kind of incidents taking place over there.
And for that girls creature thingee, it was u can say personal experience speaking :)
Regards,
AR

Pure race standing alone (Kamran Shafi) -
[Some weeks ago I wrote about how women don`t get a second look in India (they are never stared at!), well, exact same in Dubai. We must have seen tens of Western tourists walking about the town in all sorts of dresses, not one of the men, many of them Pakistani labourers, leering at them. Not one. On the other hand, look at how we treat women, especially foreigners, in our country. You just have to observe how the throngs of people at our airports, most of them taxi drivers, stare at the poor things, jostle them, and in many cases feel them up. In short, do everything expected of louts and yahoos. No wonder we are now one of the most unfriendly-to-women-and-foreigners countries in the whole world.]

I know I have addressed posts to you and have received no answer...am I to assume that I have offended you with my opinions, or (gasp, inconceivable thought that it is)you simply are indifferent...kindly provide the definition of a ``feminazi``. We want to be clear on our terms and definitions, na?

deepika,
Theres no need to get personal with me. my point was that iran has its share of frustrated males and to say other wise was incorrect as i have experienced the groping and grabing and banging and bruhsing against quite a few times myself. it has nothing to do with anyones looks. men will do what they have to to anything that looks like a female form;looking good or like the wicked witch of the west is not of relevance to them and neither is the age.
