Apparition:

It`s always difficult to explain what one would like to pass as symbolism. hmmm.

slaves of heat: this defines many characteristics. the reluctance to pursue anything substantial, and a glad acceptance of mediocrity. conditions and circumstances are too overwhelming to allow the mind to operate effectively.

i`ve noticed that year by year, Pakistanis, when crossing the roads, walk more and more slowly while the traffic rushes toward them more and more quickly. somethings gotta be up.

past: past can be an unchosen burden. it`s all the more overbearing if one feels that it encourages stagnancy.

Sikander had to die. He was neither insane nor a slave. He was too concerned about life.

Thanks for your opinions- even though i provided some explanations they arent meant to change your opinions.

allah baily

This was certainly interesting though not as good as the previous one. I really enjoyed the humour which seems to be a part of your writings. I did not understand what you meant by slaves of heat.

liked these lines

I pick up my will,

and strangle the past.

I destroy to create,

a life that may last.

(come on ..... the past doesn`t have to be stranggled )

I didn`t like the ending, shouldn`t have killed Sikandar. It seemed rather pointless.

P.S: I have been in the U.S for almost a year and it got a little hot a couple of days back and that was when i realized how much i had missed the heat.

Well, this is a nice Independence day present!

Ras Siddiqui:

That was no digression. That was beautiful.

`K indness is the Indus, tears of happiness on a

parched land`

Because I was listening to Alamgir sing `amar basha elee ray` (I don`t know Bangla but this song`s beauty was explained to me by a Bengaldeshi friend), this was my favorite line.

Urstruly:

Interesting you should say that. I had a tinge of desire to take up something more complex. But I feel as if clarity isn`t my strong point as yet.

Thank you both for the compliments (again). I am not discouraged by boobs or kashmir :)

A good one again. I can feel that a giant is in the making-but dont be discouraged by boobs and Kashmir though. Such writing is rare now but we used to get every now and then over a couple of years ago. Resist the temptations of mediocrity and fast food.

I also have a feeling that this endeavor is a prelude to something bigger-is that correct?
