Just curious.... anNy. How much do you weigh?
We`ve all known the type. Moms love them, especially at birthday lunches when their plates are stuffed with the last of the 6 chicken pieces that nobody can finish. Or they are encouraged to polish off the last three bowls of fruit salad so that it won`t be left over. Magically, these folks, blessed with a hyperactive metabolism, were rarely overweight. Nor did they wake up at the crack of dawn to run 20 rounds of the YMCA ground. We longed to know their secret: us fatties, whose every 5th chapati was greeted with a derisive snicker from Didi or baleful glare from Mom. ``No icecream for you, you`re looking like a haathi ka baccha``.
Lucky lucky you.

it`s not one ``nameless person``...it is many of them...that temporal fellow was very generous in giving people editorial advice...but they always rebuffed it and called him arrogant...but you are right, it has nothing to with what people write about...it is how they write it...good writing can make even the most mundane things interesting...no?

….the closest i’ve been to hira mandi is during basant at someone’s haveli…and at cuckoos café….which, if you come to lhr, is a must see….the place has this ambience beyond description…the guy who owns it, iqbal hussain is the son of a prostitute and teaches at nca…he’s decked out the place in an amalgam of odds and ends….beautiful wooden-carved doors…wrought iron sculptures….you have to check it out….time magazine even did a spread on it….and basant is not basant if you don’t go to the inner city….are you planning to do an article on hira mandi or smt?…

anNy,
gonna be taking a trip there - hopefully not in ramazan, but unfortunately, some friends on break are in a time crunch...
between 11pm-1 or 2am is the time for the dance-mujra. it is `legally` accepted. after or before those hours is when the sex trade thrives.
my email address is: rozaiba@hotmail.com
i will gather up more information.

I’ll be happy to do what I can, but I understand that you have already been offered help, mashallah. Anyway, why assume the worst when all you have to do is LOG OFF and open a text book?
Hmmm?

PS Vaisai, I am also addicted to Chowk, so I understand...
