Harrison will come home to India
LONDON: Like Grateful Dead guitar player Jerry Garcia, ex-beatle George Harrison`s ashes will be immersed in the Ganges. A Harrison memorial in Vrindavan might also be in the offing.

...i better stop, lest i get accused of whining about whining...

You will, I am sure, appreciate, that mangling someone`s name or ridiculing it, does not help your intellectual case.
I shall look up your post on Lata as u suggest.
Yes, Poona is a terrific city. My forefathers on my father`s side migrated to Bijapur from Iran in the 18th century. However, we have been Jammu based for the last 50 years.
So if you can battle it out intellectually do so. Dont revert to puerile and childish name calling. And accept the fact that you are distastefully nationalistic for someone who claims to be a journalist (what journal do you write for?)

DRUMZ: Ahem, the idea to get you to laugh was a sort of challenge thrown my way...not directly, but you know...
And, yes, solicitous enquiries are being made about whether you are crossing swords with me or not. And, just wondering, has the relevant person been sent to Israel??
As for the intensity, you can have it anytime. After all, it is all maya :)
AnNy: Ab samjhe?? lol to you too, and one pringles pack depleted...
Samina: You are welcome. But I am sorry to say that I have been called pathetic because I have raised this issue on my Board ``to serve my agenda``, I am told. I don`t think I want to use this Board for it, but the small minds that think up such things...well, they exist.
Regards,
Farzana

Hope to see your review here on CHOWK soon.
I believe that both Pakistan Link and CHOWK did a disservice to Junoon Fans for not posting that announcement as a separate item. I gave them a week to do so.

Although it really does not matter what I think, but I tend to agree with ``Poonawala`` that being a journalist ``Ras`` hardly shows any obejectivity and balance one expects from people of that profession. Having said that, I think Ras has every right to feel proud of his national heritage, whether Junon or Noorjehan or Rima.....

TRIBULATIONS OF A PEROXIDE YANK,
Shankar is the most exalted peroxide yank, the greatest day in his life was when he got the american citizenship, and it is only a wait for the peroxide to take lasting effect to become the real yank.
Yes, it has been a great day for me as well, under the new rule of this great land of freedom, I also got the US citizenship, faxed to me. Under the new rule, all that I have to do is rat on the people I know and say that they are osama men. Through my peroxide friend, I informed the CIA that I know where osama is, and as a first installment, they have faxed me the US citizenship. bank accounts and the customery twent credit cards are to follow before my next call.
The greates day for another ex-indian.

Thats a good one. You spend your day posting reams of crap on chowk which everyone scrolls through but you still have clients. Try a higher dose, we support you.

Check the CHOWK archives for may article on Lata. She`s a legend of singing that one can really appreciate. Just too bad that she is not
P........
I believe that my sadness at the death of George Harrison cannot be expressed within my ``Pakistani Nationalism``. Just too bad that he was not P........
Poona is a great place I`ve heard. Too bad that it is not in Pakistan. And let us not bring up Jammu here ...

hey now, are you calling DRUMZ a mouse? how could you? show the guy some respect.
DRUMZ, are you reading this? are you going to take this tremendous insult from the little food queen? Don`t let her get away with it.

Ras Siddiqui, I am really glad you posted the link to the Junoon VH-1 appearance. I would have missed it otherwise. My thanks to you! I thought it was a great presentation by VH-1, and the phrase ``the U2 of Pakistan`` is one that I thought was very appropriate for Junoon. Here is musical group that, like U2, has a very keen social and political awareness - and is absolutely unafraid to take a stand on it. Like U2, their music reverbrates and resonates with their roots deeply linked with their origins in Pakistan (including Brian, who has established his roots there!). And their music is as anthemic or filled with a longing and passion as any I`ve ever heard. Parvaaz is a phenomenal album - I am penning an article on Junoon and hope to have it to Chowk very soon. They make us proud ...!

Good riddance -- of No Good Rabbani.

“WHY BENAZIR IS POPULAR IN INDIA” by Deepika
Dear Deepika:
Very cute. Most reasons you gave may be true except THREE amendments -- if I may – if you don’t mind.
ONE:
“”2/Very few Hndians understand Pakistani National Language URDU” -- should read --
most Hindians understand Pakistani Hindian Language URDU.
TWO:
9/`` BECAUSE SHE IS BAD, BAD BAD for Pakistan``
-- alas if Pakistan only knew -- what was REALLY ``BAD BAD BAD`` -- it wouldn`t be in a mess that it is today -- in Afghanistan.
THREE:
“”10/Absolute no islamic education””
Now that’s “Absolutely” false.
We all KNOW -- she DID receive her childhood PUNISHMENT of an “islamic education” -- otherwise she wouldn’t have ended up -- with a rotten, illiterate, corrupt, peasant of a husband -- “islamically arranged” by her ``modern`` mother –- and a stupid hijabi dupatta on her Rad-Oxen head.
