Among them are armed extremists, and we should get rid of them as we would get rid of any pack of bandits - and if it helps avoid war with India, so much the better.

Jinnah was royally pissed that India would not call itself Hindustan because he had always claimed that the nations in the Indian subcontinent are Pakistan and Hindustan.

The Pakistani newspapers always referred to India as Hindustan so that their readers will remember that their enemy is the Hindu.

The average Pakistani cannot accept the fact that Hindus are generaly tolerant and accommodating people; they attribute it to the bania`s cunning.

There is no way you can make these people see the difference between India and Pakistan.

If the Indian policy makers had brains, they would opt for option (a). My fear is that the gleam of finishing off Pakistan once and for all is driving people like Advani towards war. In that case, I think he will be in for an unpleasant surprise, just as he was a few years ago when he ``brilliantly`` switched the Pak-India confrontation from conventional to nuclear weapons, thereby assuring the end of his own dreams of ever over-running Pakistan.
