Sigalph235 . . . thank you for your practical assessment of the PAF versus IAF scenario . . . however, since this article was about stupid white men, I still don`t understand how we are stupid enough to buy planes from ``stupid`` white men and then blow each other up so that we buy yet more planes.
As for Pakistani pilots versus Indian pilots . . . many good Pakistani pilots were born in what is today India and many good Indian pilots were born in what is today Pakistan.
whatever

I am afraid I do not speak ``Lingua incoherenta`` as well as you do. Do u mind translating what you wrote into simple albeit coherent English.
I guess Tahmed could learn a thing or two further than he does, from you about making baseless claims without hitherto any semblance of logic.
On another note, try to not get your pantiees in a twist, or crawl back from where you emerged. Your antics are no longer required. We have Tahmed here to keep us entertained, which he does quite regularly by ``putting his foot in his mouth``, and then going off on a tangent and acting pious to fit in.

re the air forces
Pakistan`s airforce certainly lost a lot of its respect and some of its professionalism by virtue of being part of military rule-it happens and is inevitable. Perhaps the Navy was the branch least touched by the inherent corruption that is part of any martial law regime (but then there is the Admiral Masroorul Haque). In that respect, IAF, with its almost eighty years of stellar service to its civillian superiors is definitely in a different league.
Yet, the PAF has been since 1948 one of the most dogged air forces in the world. The question of victory/loss aside, its skill in matching quality (personnel and performance) to the quantity of its traditional adversary has been mentioned by Yeager, Horner, and John Fricker. A pilot trained by the PAF(retd Wing Commander Saiful Azam) is the only one ever to shoot Israeli combat jets out of the sky(no Egyptian, Syrian, or Jordanian has ever done that). It is not withot reason that PAF officers trained entire air forces in the Gulf and Africa, until their political and corruption tendencies were just too much for their hosts.
In 1971, the PAF lost in the Eastern Theater because it relied on the stupidity of the Army`s planners. The army, insistent that the theater`s defence rested exclusively on the 93,000 murderers/rapists/plunderers under `Tiger` Niazi, couldn`t care less about the PAF`s No. 14 squadron which was left with one airfield, 14 pilots, and 14 Sabres(wonder why 14?). On day two of the Indian intervention, the IAF knocked out that airfield and never let up on the reconstruction efforts. Hence, there was no PAF there after that. Refusing to take part in Niazi`s thuggery as part of the army, the PAF quietly withdrew its pilots to Pakistan through a third country.
The irony for the 14 squadron was that it was the same outfit that earned the nickname `Tailchoppers` by wreaking havoc on IAF planes on the ground outside Calcutta in 1965.
I am myself, call me nostalgic, but a big fan of the ancient Mig-19s. The Indian gentlemen are right that the Chinese version could log no more than 1000 hours. It is to the credit of PAF`s engineers and technicians at (I forget the name of the Aeronautical Rebuilding Works, Kamra?) that they made these birds go so much longer and even fitted them with all kinds of modern gadgets.
Nonetheless, looking to the future, none of that skill or technical ingenuity of the PAF can overcome, in an actual long war, the assets of the IAF. For starters, India builds many of her own combat aircraft from scratch at the HAL plants. So, not much threat from things like Pressley Amendment. Secondly, India is too big, no problem with depth. Thirdly, IAF is busy with IAF matters, and not spreading thin trying to run Indian Airlines, Hockey Federations, sector corporations, district magistracies and what not. Fourthly, as the Indian sites themselves prove, the IAF respects its enemy which is always a strength-dismissing the enemy as inept is a sure sign of stupid overconfidence.

Hayat #299 So you wrote a (relatively) short unabusive post rather than a long abusive post. That is progress for you. Assignment for next semester (much harder one for you): Try not to mix your fantasies with reality (as you have done in your post).

Thanks for sharing your perspectives. Once we look past heated words, we are able to focus better on others reasons behind the words as always. There are of course numerous exceptions.
I wish you all the best in your pursuit of a happier, more satisfied and fulfilling life.

Tahmed: ``I am writing this just to keep the record straight, not because I am interested in reading another long, abusive post from you. You are welcome to write on anyway if that makes you feel better since insults and name-calling from strangers who I have no reason to respect does not bother me.``
First this Tahmed fellow makes claims that he can not defend when confronted;then he has the unmitigated temerity to assert that ``Islma is secular`` and that I dont know my religion and that ``All the answers are in the Quran and I should read it``. When i confronted him about his unmerited speculation about whether I knew or not about the judgement day and its applicability to all mankind, he tries to wriggle his way out using pathetic excuses. It would have ben far too honourable for you to have admitted your specious reasoning than to try to carry on an argumnet at whatever cost. That would have been deserving of more respect fro you in my book. But then again perhaps character or the lack thereof is not an acquired trait.
Que sera sera, :)
Asim
P.S SHAH, i would rather be a sore thumb; Unlike you I do not have to ingratiate myself into the good books of the whites and try to pass off as one of them.

Rsaxena: ``how am i supposed to come to peace with myself when nature isn`t is at peace with itself?...your thoughts?...``
My thoughts? Flukk nature. You`ll be nice and safe with a ravi record, a lady, a basement and a dime of weed... Or do u wanna hear somethin like the state of nature mirrors the state of ones mind?
By the way, how do u define ``PEACE?`` How can nature not be at peace? I believe that peace is balance (calmness). Balance has to do with the equal distribution of opposing forces. This is the story behind the Ying/Yang symbol. Balance = 50/50, and that simply equals ``ONE.`` See the world as One and youll be at peace. The wisdom in the Gita suggests that it is righteous to regard both good and evil as one and the same.

Asim: PEACE!! If im being disrespectful, youll know it. Let`s not forget that u stepped to me first. Dont lose sight of HOW u spoke with Tahmed (if u give it, be able to take it). Now i dont wanna flow towards the destination this is heading. Im sure we can both go back and fourth for pages, but that wont be productive for any of us.
However, there is something which u said that is worth analyzing. Read your final paragraph and that last bit of advice u left... I dont mean to compare us, but just to give u something to consider. Now, most of the things which make u ``content`` have to do with what? In my opinion, they are from external sources (faculty, people taking notice of u, gadgets, hallways, etc). I dont deal with fears nor desires. I dont require things from others, i know who i am, other peoples opinions dont matter. Someone else can have the biggest houses, the flashiest cars etc... Ill be content workin at a gas station. Second, I spend a lotta time talking to people about their problems. Many people I speak with have the money and the respect, but they truly are not happy.
Consider becomin content from within. Thats where one has full control. U dont have control over external things. They can be taken away at any time.

``We see our ugliness in others.`` When ur jealous (or have most desires), its cuz ur comparing what u think is a ``difficiency`` in yourself, with another. By meditating (even 5 mins a day), u begin to control ur thoughts. This is important. Thoughts no longer come to you, you command them to come. Your mind is clear and focused. Take walks outside and let the wind whisper (pay attention to nature).
Mind over matter. Next time ur body says no, command it. Make yourself do something when u dont want to. Control yaself. etc etc This topic is too long to be covered here. Peace.

Hayat #278 You misquote me when you write `` expecting Uni`s to teach you to think amongst other fallcious reasons such as developing, morality or decency as Tahmed claims, that one attends universities, right Drumz. `` I said the opposite of that. I said you DO NOT LEARN these things in universities, rather you learn them in good homes (where you again misquoted me in an earlier post) and/or in kindergarten. And a famous name university may get you a good first job, but over time your complete personality is what makes you a success or failure.
Another place you misrepresent what I said was when I noted the fact that you were ignorant of the fact that according to the Quran all mankind, not just muslims, will be judged (and I said this based on what you specifically said in an earlier post). You translate this statement of fact to mean I am passing judgement on you being a bad muslim. I dont know and I dont care whether you are a good muslim or bad muslim or hindu or jain or atheist or agnostic or anything - that is not my concern.
I am writing this just to keep the record straight, not because I am interested in reading another long, abusive post from you. You are welcome to write on anyway if that makes you feel better since insults and name-calling from strangers who I have no reason to respect does not bother me.
