Godot #102 you write to bijli: ``Is that a ``Yes`` then? Can`t wait for the meltdown! ``

It is my sad duty to inform you, Godot sir, that bijli is (contrary to what the name indicates) a man. Yes!! With 12 nicks. Some male, some female. So no meltdowns for you at the end of the chowk rainbow. So sorry.

Godot #102 I concede the point to you, in a most civilized manner of course. :-)

Indian charas is better than Pakistani churas and it is spelt charas as per Webster. Manikaran is not the name of another freedom fighter and as for Bombay Black, oh boy . . .

Been a while.

Our PM is vacationing in Manali, Pakistan`s General is chatting with Riz Khan on BBC and the soldiers are out their, shooting at villages.

Maybe, just maybe, life would have been so much better if the leaders smoked and inhaled.

Or do they??

whatever

Aamir #92:

Got it from a book I have, a collection of reflections done on Kaifi saheb`s poetry. It`s more a brochure from a Mushaira he chaired, than a book.

I`m sure you can find many of his works on the net.

Kiran

Re: Bijli, #99

``everything hair to all appendeges with just melt down``

Is that a ``Yes`` then? Can`t wait for the meltdown! Strike me!!!

Re: saminashah, #98

Thanks for directing me to the other board. I usually stick to one board at a time. But all those guys, both the advisors and the advisees, are out of my league. I don`t have any advise for anyone looking for a ``relationship``, only a thought: if there`s a chemistry between two people, no power on earth can stop it; and if there is no chemistry between two people, no power on earth can force it.

Re: DRUMZ, #97

``Why couldnt u have been the prophet of Islam?``

Drumz, if I were the prophet of Islam, all the Jihadis would be dancing to the tunes of Grateful Dead, not killing innocent people to make a political statement.

``Selling nuclear weapsons is legal...Selling ganja is not.`` or this one...``The devil is supposed to be in hell...``

Brilliant! Not exactly koans, but very well said indeed!

Re: tahmed, #95

``I dont think the civilized ones in Europe and the US are all that civilized either.``

Look at Germany, France and Britain. Sworn enemies. They discovered, and worked on it, that living in peace with each other has dividends beyond imagination. Look how they have prospered. Look at the relationship between US and Canada. Now, wouldn`t one consider all that civilized? Look at the relationship between India and Pakistan. Would one consider that civilized?

Godot #91 I dont think the civilized ones in Europe and the US are all that civilized either. The problem is not the people, brown or white. The problem is the nation state system which makes the future of mankind beholden to the careers of civil and military bureaucrats and politicians.

I think the only thing holding back war in south asia is the uncertainty: no one knows how a full scale war between two nuclear powers will end. This is the MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) doctrine of the Cold War as applied to the subcontinent. That is a very thin thread on which to hang the fate of millions of lives.

Godot,

After you are finished wooing Bijli, you might want to head over to anNy`s board...I believe Rsax and Drumz have been given some incorrect advice by Hamid/Tahmed....

Godot: ``But perhaps we should meet one day and share some churas. After a couple of drags, everything will slow down and you and I will become really good friends. Churas has that effect on people!``

(salivates) - Why couldnt u have been the prophet of Islam?

By the way, if anyone is tired of that one hand clapping sh1t, here are today`s updated Zen koans...

``Selling nuclear weapsons is legal...

Selling ganja is not.``

or this one...

``The devil is supposed to be in hell...

I just saw a white man on tv.``

Kiran, Rehan, and all..

There are websites where you can find KA`s poetry, as well as film lyrics. Unfortunately the way they are transliterated, they can be hard to read, and sometimes there are errors. I went to the one of the sites and found that song from `Kagaz ke phool` I had written about. It`s really sad, but it`s so beautiful. Here it is:

Waqt ne kiya kya haseen sitam

Tum rahe na tum, hum rahe na hum

waqt ne kiya...

Beqaraar dil is tarah mile

Jis tarah kabhi hum judaa na the

tum bhi khho gaye, hum bhi khho gaye

ek rah par chalake do qadam

waqt ne kiya..

Jayenge kahan, poochta nahin

Chal pade magar raasta nahin

kya talash hai, kuch pata nahin

bun rahe hain dil khwab dum-ba-dum

waqt ne kiya...

That`s all they had..somehow I felt there was more.

Praying for peace...a.

Rsaxena;

I watched the most funny episode of “The Simpsons” the other day, when Apu gets an arranged marriage so he pretends to his family that he is married to Marge. Anyway, so on the wedding day itself Apu says the only that will help me now is the Gods, so Homer dresses up as Lord Ganesha and goes around shouting “Elephant God says no! Elephant God says no!” and gets beaten up by a bunch of Java nerds. I laughed so much it hurt. But anyway in the end Apu’s fiancée was a fox so it was OK. But then I got to thinking that Apu is the most famous Indo-American in the world and the coolest too. But I cant get out of my head, for some reason, that Shankar looks exactly like him. No offence Shankar dude your posts are hilarious, but its that open chested gold medallion with the pencil moustache things that does it!

Apu is so cool I love the Simpsons. Long live USA just for making the Simpsons
