IMMEDIATE ACTION ALERT ON IRAQ
from Progressive Portal
and Global Exchange

NOTE: SOMEONE HAS BEEN ATTACKING PROGRESSIVE PORTAL
ELECTRONICALLY. THE ENTIRE SITE WILL BE UNAVAILABLE
FOR SECURITY UPGRADES FROM FRI 9/26 11 PM PDT TO SAT
9/27 ABOUT 2 AM PDT (I.E. SAT 27 SEP, 0600-0900 GMT)

Anti-war citizens have just a couple of days to influence the
Congressional debate about Iraq. Congress is expected to pass a
resolution next week -- and there is evidence that a strong
outpouring of anti-war sentiment is starting to have an impact, as
members from both parties express skepticism about the broad war
mandate sought by the White House.

Please take a minute as soon as you can to:

(1) Send a letter to Congress at:
http://www.progressiveportal.org/letters/global/iraq/
You can do it in less than a minute.

FOR SECURITY UPGRADES FROM FRI 9/26 11 PM PDT TO SAT
9/27 ABOUT 2 AM PDT (I.E. SAT 27 SEP, 0600-0900 GMT)

(2) Pass this alert along to your contacts.

(3) Display your opposition to war with peace flags,
U.N. flags, Earth flags, anti-war posters, etc.
Proceeds make Progressive Portal possible. See:

(4) For more information, see the Iraq section of the Global
Exchange Web site, and the Iraq links on Progressive Portal.

Downloaded Asha Bhonsle`s song this evening. Wow. Thanks, Bina. Looking forward to the rest of the album.

About fusion music; John Mclaughlin and Zakir Hussain did some great stuff with Shakti. Didn`t believe it could be done so fluently until I heard them a few years ago. For those who would like to, try downloading/listening to ``Face to Face``, ``Two Sisers``, ``Zakir``.

Thanks for a good intro and info article. I wil look for it.
[listening to 1 Giant Leap is an ear-opening experience, one that will restore your faith in the concept of globalization as envisioned not by politicians and moneymakers, but by artists, philosophers, and the creative minds that populate (and probably should rule) our world. ]
Bina: Is it a must to listen to 1 Gaint Leap to restore my faith in.........?
Ear-opening experience? Coming through one ear and getting out from the other is more common these days.......using headphones might stop this........:-))
