Are we all living directly in a yellow submarine? i am so sure
a very nice article tahir..and i liked the last line...More milk will be spilt, and more crying will follow in the days to come. ©
this is so true...embodies the 50+ years of our existence as a Pakistani nation..
jay: i empathize with you..the whole problem is that the people running the educational board i.e. in charge of our educationa dn our future our so confused themselves that they are unable to understand the issue from any viewpoint at all
what difference does it make? a military government hated by the West or a farcial democracy heralded by the West. The nation has failed to make any singular show of progress/success. May sound bitter, may sound a bit dramatic but unfortumately..we live in a world of hypocrisy

Tahir, loved this sentence:
``The nation`s mouth was indeed stuffed with military soothers.``
It still is. Always will be.

Tahir:
this was good...``Partial law, or martial law, we will never reform`` is precious...it should become a political slogan if it isn`t already.
And your prediction at the end, alas sad but true. I still hope that rescue from the spilling of milk (and blood) and crying will come within my lifetime at least.
regards,
ana

The day was celebrated as `The Day of Deliverance from Autocracy` by Pakistan Peoples Party and ARD.
Imran Khan of TI had once stated that Nawabzadah Nasrullah Khan, Chairman of ARD, was so happy that in the meeting of all the stalwarts, he had ordered sweets to be distributed.

Good narration of one of the ugliest day in the history of Pakistan. A day when hstory of `Indus saga` repeated itself, except this time invasion was carried out by home-bred blood-sucking mafia. Another time, another Somnath temple - this time it was the temple of nascent democracy. The plunderers then got away with emeralds, gold and silver, this time they got away with murdering democracy, looting national exchequer, dividing up top level civilian administrative jobs, grabbing agriculture land and plots. In return they gave, MMA, lotacracy and crooks of first order.
Oh well, finally we got our first `Aslaaf` head of the state; Khilafat is likely to follow. A bitch is a bitch no matter if he wears Emperor, Salafi, Khalifa, khaki, CE, President, Prime Minister, Feudal or Mullah clothes. At least MQM is happy and no longer agitating against everybody else.
By the grace of almighty, we have been blessed with two options throughout long history: either succumb to external pressure or perish. We exist in such large numbers because we succumbed so often. Why complain now? Whenever any thug invaded, we succumbed. When they asked us to convert, we did. Whenever home grown khaki thug invaded, we cheered and distributed sweets. We cheered Russian defeat in Afghanistan, we cheered Taliban victory, we cheered public hangings by mard-e-momin and now we have Khalid Bin Walid II, commonly known as Musharaf and popularly known as Mutt - a dog variety. Thanks Lord! we promise to continue to succumb without complain to Sufism, Deobandism, Wahabism, military dictators, corruption, mullahism, feudalism, masochism etc as long as you save us from the evil of humanism, egalitarianism, Americanism, westernism and pluralism. Lord, we promise to kill as many goats as you wish with their leg tied and knives cutting through their jugular with red blood flowing down the drain, if you save us from the evil of flying kites on Basant.
Oh Lord, please bring progress and prosperity to NWFP and Balochistan now that they can not play music in buses and dance in Public. What else? They have banned co-education and now Friday is official holiday. Sir, we have been obeying as much as we have been taught to obey by thugs. Too bad! The right path was actually not to succumb:
chori ker, bhan ghar rab da, teh uss thuggaN de thug nuN thug.
Damn Basant and Happy Eid or Happy Basant and Happy Eid or Happy Basant and Damn Eid or Damn Basant and Damn Eid. One thing for sure, no Happy Valentine Day message is expected from Syed Pee Musharrf Dehlvi, Raees Jamhuriya, Mumlikat-ul-Islamia-al-Bakistania. And don`t forget to deposit your own or goats or cows skins to Madrassah Anwaar-ul-Iqrar-ul-Israr-ul-Inzinamam-ul-Ibrar-ul-Uloom-ul-Islamia-wal-Naqshbandia-al-Aslafia in Kana Kaccha near Lahore next to Chaanga Maanga. All the proceeds from the stench of decaying hides will be used to ward of Jinns of modernism, science and technology from the minds of momineens but not from those mominaat who are still having monthly visitation of Jinns for 3-5 days.

IT as a subject
I wonder if anyone from the education department has kept themselves in a science student`s place, and the made IT compulsory. I bet not.
I request the authorities in the education department to look into this matter from a student`s point of view. When we already have our hands full, why are they burdening us with one more absolutely new subject just before two months of our final examinations?
Please don`t make our lives and futures miserable.
A CONCERNED STUDENT
Karachi
////This is a good example of pakistans attempt to short cut everything. A second hand satelite they claim as their own development, korean missile are their own. Note that since korea is under surveilence, the tit for tat missile launches with india has stopped, cannot get any more from korea. Now see this IT tamasha. They have made IT compulsary for all graduates, so that then can claim to be a IT focussed country. No thought to the teachers, even the timing. This poor chappie above has to pass IT exam, introduced two months before graduation.
With romair as the bright one among the military, there can be no hope for pakistan. My dear `concerned student`, the day is not very far, after iraq, it could be the turn of pakistan for liberation.

CIRCLING OF PAKISTAN,
With a well timed attack on the gas pipelines, the jihadists have oblieterated the possibility of a iran-pak-india pipeline. Now the go ahead has been given for the under sea pipe line.
One consequence that india prefers so much is the joint iran-india naval patrole of the pipi line. All along the pipe, one can expect devices for its security, finally blocking the escape route.
There was a time that the pakistanis talked of strategic depth, escape route to afghanistan, rather than being swallowed bythe sharks of arabian sea. Now the hope is to be depth charged and mined by the iran-india forces. I hope that killed by shias also be viewed as martyrdom.
