Re: # 58
Hello Haris,
In your post # 58 you said.... "What the hell is this? You people say OH PIR SAHAB BACHA DEDO. I would like to raise q question here do PIR SLEEP WITH YOUR WIFE AFTER WHICH SHE WILL BE HAVING BACHA?"

Haris , I am not sure what definition in your mind you have for the word "PIR". Maybe you know someone who slept with a fake PIR to have a child….
In any event according to Islamic Vocabulary, the titles, such as, PIR, WALI, AUWLIYAH-ALLAH, IMAM, Maulvi are attributed to people who spend their entire lives in the love of Allah s.w.t and his Nabi Muhammad s.a.w, and they do their best to live their lives on the footsteps of Nabi s.a.w.
Hadrat Umar (Radi Allahu ta'ala Anhu) said: “I heard the Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu ta'ala Alayhi wa Sallam) saying that there will be certain worshippers of Allah who will not be Prophets, nor martyrs, but the Prophets and martyrs will envy them on the Day of Judgment.…..The Companions then asked, “O Prophet of Allah, who are these people? …. Then the Most Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu ta'ala Alayhi wa Sallam) explained to them the qualities of the Awliya……The Prophet Muhammad (Salla Allahu ta'ala Alayhi wa Sallam) read to them the verse of Holy Quran Shareef:
“Beware, verily on the friends of Allah, there is no fear, nor shall they grieve.
(Surah Yunus, Verse 62)

Haris, you should also read Surah Kahaf tafsir and you will understand why people go to Shrines of saints and make dua there to Allah; asking Allah to accept their dua for the sake of this wali-allah who is in this shrine. For example, when muslims go to Madina Pak sharif and offer salutations to Nabi s.a.w at his Roza Mubarak, muslims make countless duas there…. Allah s.w.t says when you make dua anywhere, read darood sharif in the beginning and ending of your dua…
Similarly, some people ask their , PIR, WALI, AUWLIYAH-ALLAH, IMAM, or a Maulvi (who are in some cases close friends of Allah) to make dua for them so they can have a child, or get out of their financial problems, or have a healthy life….another example is , obedient children ask their parents (mother or father) to make dua for them so they can have a child, or they can get a job, or get healthy….Do you not ask your parents or elders to make dua for you? or remember you in their dua ? Of course if you don’t believe in dua, that is a different topic then…
Haris you should also read the Quran Shareef Tafseer about the story of Prophet Musa a.s. and when Prophet Musa a.s passed away, how Bani Israel used to make dua to Allah and they used to call Allah s.w.t to accept their dua for the sake of holy relics lets behind by Musa a.s. (Holy relics = The tablets of ten commandments, the staff of Musa a.s. , and other holy items belonging to Prophets).
Unfortunately, we pay more attention to get a Masters degree, but no attention to our Deen-e-Islam and the knowledge of Islam. The further Muslims go away from Islam the more difficult Islam is becoming for them to follow and understand.
Kul na ma-nay-gae qayamat ko agar ma gae-ya
Aj madud maang un-say , Aj lay un-key panah !

I love Islamic poetry but I am not good at repeating shairz, so forgive me for saying this shair wrong…

As for the above mentioned topic of PIR, WALI, AUWLIYAH-ALLAH, IMAM, or a Maulvi who live all their lives for the sake of Allah s.w.t and follow the footsteps of Nabi Muhammad s.a.w…, Allah says in Quran Shareef:
2:154 “And say not of those who are slain in God's cause, "They are dead": nay, they are alive, but you perceive it not. (Haris you should read the tafseer of Quran Shareef to understand the different levels of Shaheeds / Martyrs if this Ayah is not clear for you)…

In short, when people say to a true PIR who is Wali Allah , that PIR SAHIB BACHA DEDO …PIR SAHIB forward / make dua to Allah , and since a Wali-Allah (PIR SAHIB in this case) can not do anything without Allah’s permission, and the wali-allah are close friends of Allah …Allah s.w.t in reply to PIR Sahib’s dua says , okay I give them a child and accept your request…
So making a stereotype statement and summing up all the good people with bad people(who use the name of Islam and titles of pious people to do their dirty work) is not a good way of thinking, rather it shows lack of critical thinking skills.

Allah s.w.t knows best and may Allah have mercy on us all…Aameen.

I hope Asif Naqshbandi, I hope you will, as promised provide more glimpses of the spiritual significance and poetic imagination surrounding Ramzan (yes, why Ramadan? as TAhmed inquired? Pray tell).

I am a sociologist. I collect beliefs, I don`t subscribe to them. Still, I cannot but admire and appreciate the faith of the faithful. There is beauty in that fervor.

This Ramzan I will partake of Iftar (easy to do in New York) and hear from Pakistani friends about how they spend their days of fasting and reflection.

I am envious of every Urdu, Persian and Arabic speaker and wish I could quote learnedly and extensively from the Qur` an.

I will send Eid cards out to friends and especially to the children I met in a Madrassah in Kerala, India. Then I will visit them in December.

May the days of Ramzan pass in peace, reflection and love for all.

Who the hell is Wahabi?

Wahabis are those who don`t follow any Imam and are also known as Ghair Muqalid / Ahl Hadith / Salafi but in Punjab the great Deo-Bandies are also named out as Wahabbies which is totally wrong.

You bloody Naqshbandis kissed the tomb, graves, feet of the dead and go and pray out on their graves.

What the hell is this? You people say OH PIR SAHAB BACHA DEDO. I would like to raise q question here do PIR SLEEP WITH YOUR WIFE AFTER WHICH SHE WILL BE HAVING BACHA?

what wahabis do in the rest of their country (saudi arabia) is no concern of mine and none of my business but who are they to prevent Muslims from performing their traditional rites at the Two Holy Sanctuaries? My gripe with Wahabis is purely one of aqidah and it has nothing to do with jobs or how they treat pakistani workers or anything else. When they accuse Muslims of being mushriks then they must bring their evidence and as the article I posted demonstrates they HAVE no evidence!

The name of Ala Hazrat was (Imam) Muhammad Ahmad Raza Khan as you would`ve known if you read the subtitle of my article!
Ala Hazrat is used as an honorific.

This board is becoming very confusing. Naqshbandi lashes out at Saudis. For once I think he is lashing out at the right people. But then the reason he lashes out due to some ideological differences between two theives, the wahabis and the beralvis aka grave kissers. AND he labels poor Salman Khan a wahabi for informing us of the ala hazrat (does this man have a name perhaps, like nathu ram or allah ditta?) fetish with graves. Ghalib Zaman defends (defends!!) the brutal, hypocritical, customs of the saudis on the grounds that it is their country (oh yeah? and is the royal family that has set these brutal laws actually voted into power? and is the funding of madrassahs and other more advanced schools for global terrorism the saudis business only?).
enough said.
and meanwhile poor hamidm is still awaiting pir naqshandi to oink - i mean annoint - him kafir. but naqshbandi is too busy declaring to be kafirs those who consider themselves muslims to be able to declare to be kafir those who cant stand the fact they were born muslim.
as i said, this board is a puzzlement. thank you naqshbandi, and thank you ghalib.

Naqshbandi huzoor e vala,

So they do not let you kiss & supplicate whomever & whatever you seek. So simply because you have no nerve to take up your just cause, you find a convenient scapegoat at home and do some shadowboxing of your own.You prevent them from reciting kalima, establishing mosque, label them as officially ordained non-muslim and act as a vigilante to extend such courtesies to other sects as well.

Granted that the Saudis are no more angels than you and I, do they ask you if you are a follower of ala-hazrat when giving you a job? Aren`t non-muslims the beneficieries of their proverbial hospitality as well---in fact they are prefered over us corrupt-to-core pakistanis. Do not hindus enjoy their trust and confidence far more than we do. Please remember that everything is not the others` fault.

It is their country, and their rules. The day they come seeking your help then you have every right to put them in their place. If the mullahs could collude with the congress and the british then the Saudis are our own kith & kin.
Why such an innocent-looking pout ala hazrat Naqshbandi?

salman-Khan : you are so obviously a wahabi that there is no further need to highlight your ignorance other than just refer you to your own words. Insha Allah you will have to account for this slander of the Ahle Sunnat Muslims of the Subcontinent (aka Barelvis) as you have just accused the vast majority of Muslims of Indo-Pak (c. 80%) of being mushriks. Tell me you Wahabi, which form of shirk does going to graves come under: shirk fil ibadat, shirk fil zaat, or shirk fil sifaat? You wahabis don`t have a clue what you`re on about but just go around shouting ``shirk shirk shirk`` and ``bida` bida` bida``` all over the place...

Fitnatul Wahhabiyyah - The menace of Wahhabism

Mawlana Shaykhu-l-Islam Ahmad Zayni Dahlan
al-Makki ash-Shafi`i
(Chief Mufti of Mecca al-Mukarramah).
May Allah be pleased with him

Introduction

During the reign of Sultan Salim III (1204-1222 AH) many tribulations took place. One was the tribulation of the Wahhabiyyah which started in the area of al-Hijaz(1) where they captured al-Haramayn(2), and prevented Muslims coming from ash-Sham(3) and Egypt from reaching their destination to perform Pilgrimage (Hajj). Another tribulation is that of the French who controlled Egypt from 1213 A.H. until 1216 A.H. Let us here speak briefly about the two adversities(4), because each was mentioned in detail in the books of history and in separate treatises.

Background On The Tribulations Of The Wahhabis

The fighting started between the Wahhabis and the Prince of Mecca, Mawlana Sharif Ghalib Ibn Bu Sa`id, who had been appointed by the honored Muslim Sultan as his ruling representative over the areas of al-Hijaz. This was in 1205 AH during the time of Sultan Salim III, the son of Sultan Mustafa III, the son of Ahmad. Previous to the outbreak of fighting, the Wahhabis began to build power and gain followers in their areas. As their territories expanded, their evil and harm increased They killed countless numbers of Muslims, legitimated confiscating their money and possessions, and captured their women. The founder of their wicked doctrine was Muhammad Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab, who originated from eastern Arabia, from the tribe of Banu Tamim. He lived a long life, about one-hundred years. He was born in 1111 AH and died in 1200 AH. His history was narrated as follows:

Muhammad Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab started as a student of knowledge in the city of the Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam: Medina al-Munawwarah. Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab`s father was a good, pious man among the people of knowledge as was his brother, Shaykh Sulayman. His father, his brother, and his shaykhs (teachers of religion) had the foresight Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab would innovate a great deal of deviation and misguidance, because of their observance of his sayings, actions, and inclinations concerning many issues. They used to reprimand him and warn people against him.

Some Of The Beliefs Of Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab

What Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab`s father, brother, and shaykhs speculated about him came true-by the Will of Allah, Ta`ala. Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab innovated deviant and misleading ways and beliefs and managed to allure some ignorant people to follow him. His deviant and misleading ways and beliefs disagreed with the sayings of the scholars of the Religion. His deviant beliefs led him to label the believers as blasphemers! He falsely claimed visiting the grave of the Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, and performing the tawassul(5) by him as shirk(6). Additionally, he falsely claimed visiting the graves of other prophets and righteous Muslims (awliya’) and performing tawassul by them was shirk as well. He added to this by saying, ``To call upon the Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, when performing tawassul by the Prophet is shirk.`` He passed the same judgment of shirk on the ones who call upon other prophets and righteous Muslims (awliya’) in performing tawassul by them.

In an effort to give credibility to his innovations Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab embellished his sayings by quotations which he selected from Islamic sources, i.e., quotations which are used as proofs for many issues but not the issues which Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab was attempting to support. He brought false statements and tried to beautify them for the laymen until they followed him. He wrote treatises for them until they believed that most of the People of Tawhid(7) were blasphemers.

Alliance With The Saudi Family

Moreover, Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab called upon the princes of eastern Arabia and the people of ad-Dar`iyyah(8) to support him. They carried his doctrine and made this endeavor a means to strengthen and expand their kingdom. They worked together to suppress the Bedouins of the deserts until they overcame them and those Bedouins followed them and became foot-soldiers for them without pay. After that, these masses started to believe that whoever does not believe in what Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab said is a blasphemer, and it is Islamically lawful (halal) to shed his blood and plunder his money.

The matter of Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab started to evidence itself in 1143 A.H. and began spreading after 1150 A.H. Subsequently, the scholars--even his brother, Shaykh Sulayman and the rest of his shaykhs-- authored many treatises to refute him. But Muhammad Ibn Su`ud, the Prince of ad-Dar`iyyah in eastern Arabia, supported him and worked to spread his ideology. Ibn Su`ud was from Banu Hanifah, the people of Musaylimah al-Kadhdhab(9). When Muhammad Ibn Su`ud died, his son `Abdul-`Aziz Ibn Muhammad Ibn Su`ud took over the responsibility of fulfilling the vile task of spreading the Wahhabi beliefs.

Many of the shaykhs of Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab in Medina used to say, ``He will be misguided, and he will misguide those for whom Allah willed the misguidance.`` Things took place as per the speculation of the scholars. Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab claimed his intention behind the madhhab he invented was ``to purify the Tawhid`` and ``repudiate the shirk.`` He also claimed people had been following the shirk for six-hundred years and he revived their Religion for them!!

The Methodology of Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab

Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab took the verses revealed to speak about the blasphemers and applied them to the Muslims. The following examples from the Qur`an illustrate this point. Allah, ta`ala, said in Surat al-Ahqaf, Ayah 5:

Who is more astray than the one who performs supplication (du`a`) to [worship] other than Allah; the one other than Allah he supplicates to will not answer his du`a`.

Allah, ta`ala said in Surat Yunus, Ayah 106 :

``Do not perform supplication (du`a`) to [worship] other than Allah; the one other than Allah you supplicate to will not benefit you and will not harm you``

The verses in the Qur`an similar to these ones are numerous. Muhammad Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab gravely misinterpreted the previously cited verses and said: ``The Muslim who asks help from the Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, other prophets, or the righteous people (salihun), or who calls or asks any of them for intercession is like those blasphemers mentioned in the Qur`an.`` According to the false claim of Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab, the Muslims who do these things are blasphemers.

He also considered visiting the grave of Prophet Muhammad and the graves of other prophets and righteous Muslims for blessings as blasphemy. Allah revealed Ayah 3 of Surat az-Zumar in reference to the mushrikun:

Those who worship the idols said: ``We do not worship them except to achieve a higher status from Allah Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab falsely stated: ``Those who perform tawassul (asking Allah by the prophets, for example) are similar to those blasphemers mentioned in Surat az-Zumar, Ayah 3, who claim they do not worship the idols except to achieve a higher status from Allah.`` He said: ``The blasphemers did not believe the idols create anything; they believed Allah is the Creator.`` He gave his version of proof from the Qur`an by citing Surat Luqman, Ayah 25 and Surat az-Zumar, Ayah 38, in which Allah said: If you ask them, `Who created the heavens and earth?` They will say, `Allah`. In Surat az-Zukhruf, Ayah 87, Allah said:

If you ask them, `Who created them?` They will say,’Allah’. Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab falsely concluded from these verses that the Muslims who perform tawassul are similar to those blasphemers.

The Scholars refute Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab

In their writings to refute Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab`s sayings, the scholars said his deduction was false. The believers did not consider the prophets or the awliya’ as gods and they did not deem them partners to Allah. Instead, they correctly believe the prophets and awliya’ are good slaves and creations of Allah, and they do not deserve to be worshipped.

The blasphemers intended in these verses believed their idols deserved Godhood. They exalted them as one would exalt his Creator, even though they believed the idols did not create the heavens and the earth. The believers, on the other hand, do not believe the prophets or righteous Muslims (awliya’) deserve to be worshipped, nor do they deserve to be attributed with Godhood, nor do they exalt them as one would exalt God. They believe these people are good slaves of Allah, His beloved ones whom He chose, and by their blessings (barakah) Allah grants His mercy to His creation. Hence, when the slaves of Allah seek the blessings (barakah) of the prophets and righteous Muslims (awliya’) they are seeking these blessings as a mercy from Allah.

There are many proofs and examples from the Qur`an and Sunnah about this basic belief of the Muslims. Muslims believe Allah is the Creator, the One Who grants benefit and inflicts harm, and the only One Who deserves to be worshipped. Muslims believe that no one other than Allah has the power to affect the creation. The prophets and righteous people do not create anything. They do not possess the power to bestow benefit or inflict harm on others, but Allah is the One Who bestows the mercy upon the slaves by the righteous Muslims` blessings.

Hence, the belief of the blasphemers, i.e., the belief their idols deserve to be worshipped and have Godhood, is what makes them fall into blasphemy. This saying of the blasphemers, as previously cited in Surat az-Zumar, Ayah 3, was said in an effort to justify their belief when they were disproved and shown idols do not deserve to be worshipped.

How can Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab and those who follow him find it permissible to equate the believers, who believed in Tawhid, to those blasphemers, who believed in the Godhood of the idols? All the previously cited verses and the verses which are similar to them are specific to the blasphemers who associate partners with Allah--none of the believers are included.

Al-Bukhari narrated by the route of Ibn `Umar, may Allah raise their ranks, that the Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, described the Khawarij as those who took the verses revealed about the blasphemers and attributed them to the believers! In the narration by the route of Ibn `Umar the Prophet said:

``What I fear most for my nation is a man who mis-explains the Qur`an and takes it out of context.``

Proofs For Tawassul - The Permissibility of Asking Allah for things by some of His Creation.

If performing tawassul had been blasphemy, then the believers, i.e., the Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, his Companions, and the Salaf and Khalaf of this nation would not have done it. Yet it is mentioned in the sahih hadith of the Prophet that the Prophet used to ask Allah by saying:

``O Allah, I ask You by the status of those who ask You.(10) ``

Without doubt, this is tawassul. The Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, used to teach this supplication (du`a`) to his Companions and order them to say it. This issue was expounded upon in different books and treatises refuting Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab.

There is a hadith related by al-Hakim that mentions after Adam ate from the tree, he performed tawassul by our Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam. He did that, because he saw the name of the Prophet written on the `Arsh, Adam said: ``O Allah, by the dignity of this son [Muhammad], forgive this father [Adam].``

It was also related by Ibn Hibban, that upon the death of Fatimah Bint Asad, may Allah raise her rank, the Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, with his own honorable hands, put her in her grave and said:

``O Allah, forgive my mother(11), Fatimah Binti Asad, and widen her place by the status of Your Prophet and the prophets who came before me. You are the most Merciful.``

There is a hadith classified as sahih(12), that a blind man asked the Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, to make a supplication (du`a`) to Allah to return his sight. The Prophet ordered him to make ablution (wudu`) and pray two rak`ahs and then say:

``O Allah, I ask You and direct myself to You by Your Prophet, Muhammad, the Prophet of Mercy. O Muhammad, I ask Allah by you to fulfill my need. O Allah, enable him to intercede for me.``

The blind man did what the Prophet taught him to do(13) and Allah brought his sight back. Moreover, as related by at-Tabarani, the tawassul made by the blind man was used by the Companions and Salaf after the death of the Prophet.

`Umar Ibn al-Khattab performed the tawassul by al-`Abbas (the uncle of the Prophet), may Allah reward their deeds, when he prayed the Salah of `Istisqa`(14) with the people. There are other proofs mentioned in the books of the Islamic scholars but we will not recount them at length here.

The one who pursues the saying of the Companions and their followers will find a great deal of proof about the validity of calling the prophet by saying ``O Muhammad`` in his presence as well as in his absence and in his life as well as after his death. In fact, many texts include the phrase which means, ``O Muhammad``. Calling the name of the Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is permissible. An example is the saying of the Companion, Bilal Ibn al-Harith, may Allah reward his deeds, when he went to the grave of the Prophet. He said: ``O Messenger of Allah, ask Allah to send rain to your Nation.`` His saying contains this format(15).

Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Sulayman al-Kurdi(16) was among the authors who wrote refuting Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab. He was Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab`s own shaykh. Among what he said is as follows:

O Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab, I advise you, for the sake of Allah, ta`ala, to hold your tongue regarding the Muslims. If you hear from anyone who asks for help from other than Allah that one has the power to effect things without the Will of Allah, then teach him the right thing about this issue, and show him the proofs which state no one other than Allah brings things from non-existence into existence. The one who rejects that is blasphemous. You have no right to label the majority of the Muslims as blasphemers(17) while you are deviant from the majority of the Muslims. In fact, it is more reasonable to consider the one who deviates from the majority of the Muslims as a blasphemer then to consider the Muslims as a nation as blasphemers--because the deviant one has followed a path other than the path of the believers. In Surat an-Nisa`, Ayah 15, Allah said:

Whomever contends with the Messenger after the right path was exposed to him and follows other than the way of the believers, Allah will leave him to whatever he followed and put him in Hell (Jahannam)].

The Permissibility Of Visiting The Grave Of The Prophet

Visiting the grave of the Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, was performed by the Companions and the Salaf and Khalaf who came after them. Many hadiths cite the benefit of this deed and the scholars of Islam have written books about this matter(18).

Calling On Someone Other Than Allah

Among of what was mentioned concerning calling on someone other than Allah, whether that one is present, absent, dead or alive, is the saying of the Prophet:

``If the animal of anyone of you went out of control in the wilderness, then call: `O slaves of Allah, help me```, since there are slaves of Allah [i.e. the angels] who will respond to him.

There is another hadith related by al-Bazzar in which the Prophet said:

`` If one of you lost something or needs help while in an open land, then let him say:
``O slaves of Allah, help me.``

Another narration says, ``Rescue me, because Allah has created slaves whom you do not see.`` When traveling at nightfall the Prophet, sallallahu `alyhi wa sallam, used to say:`` O earth, my Lord and your Lord is Allah.`` When the Prophet visited the grave of Muslims, he used to say:``O people of the graves, peace be upon you.``

In the Tashahhud in as-Salah the Muslim says: ``O Prophet of Allah, may Allah protect you from infirmities, and have mercy and blessings on you.``

There is no harm in calling on and performing tawassul by someone unless one believes that someone other than Allah actually creates things. Hence, as long as one believes that only Allah creates them, there is no harm in performing tawassul. Likewise, attributing a certain doing to other than Allah does not harm unless one believes this doer actually creates. So once it is established the person does not believe the creating is for other than Allah then attributing a doing to other than Allah is understood in its proper context. When one says: ``This medicine benefited me,`` or ``This particular righteous Muslim benefited me,`` he is merely exposing the created reason of the benefit. These statements are also similar to when one says: ``This food satisfied my hunger,`` or ``This water quenched my thirst,`` or ``This medicine cured me.`` When Muslims say such statements, they understand them in their proper context, i.e., food, water, and medicine are only reasons, and Allah is the Creator of their benefit.

The general proofs mentioned in this summary are enough to refute Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab. The scholars of Islam have expounded on this issue in several treatises.

It is of course common knowledge that ALL of the terrorist organisations of today which are labelled Islamic Terrorism have their roots in Wahabi Ideology! These people offer nothing but hate! They are 2% of the Muslim population only yet make so much noise due to Saudi oil money!

***

The greatest test of which Islamic sect (of the 73) is on Haqq is that the Saints--the awliya ONLY come from that sect. And it is an undisputable fact that in the whole Muslim world their have been NO Awliya or Saints who are accepted as such by the general majority of Muslims who belonged to the Wahabi sect or any other sect other than the Ahle Sunnat! Hazrat Khawja Moinuddin Chishti rahmatullah alayhi Gharib Nawaz Sarkar did more to help Islam in the Subcontinent than anyone else yet and he is loved and his shrine visited by Muslims (and non Muslims!) to this day for its spiritual blessings--EXCEPT BY A TINY GROUP OF PEOPLE (IN TERMS OF %AGE) WHO LABEL THE GREAT SAINT AS A MUSHRIK!! Yes these people deprived of Allah`s Mercy are the Wahabis!!

There `heroes` are ppl such as those who blew up the World Trade Centre...

Wahabis--as every traditional scholar in the Muslim world has been saying for a century and a half and especially now after 9/11 --both inside and outside the Subcontinent--are the BIGGEST threat to Islam in the world because they are wolves in sheep`s clothing and they will destroy the very heart of Islam from the inside if allowed to as for them everthing and anything outside their own, extremely limited, ultra-literal interpretation is haram and bidat! Thus 99% of the world`s Muslims fall foul of their interpretations --and they don`t stop at using violence to put their point across. Because intellectually they have been routed by Sunni scholars ever since that deviant Ibn Abd al Wahab was born on that wretched day in the Najd--thus fulfilling our Aaqa alayhisalatu wa salaam`s prophecy that from the Najd would appear a great fitna and the `Qarn as-Shaytaan`--the horn of the DEvil or the Satanic Group!
And Our Aaqa alayhisalatosalam gave an exact description of these Wahabis too: they will always be quoting Koran yet Huzoor said that it will not go beyond their throats and they will go out of the Deen like an arrow! And Huzoor Paak told us they will have shaved heads, big beards and big knees (from long protracted outward acts of piety!) Your namaz compared to their namaz will appear slight said Huzoor Paak alayhisalaam and yet these people will have no imaan in their hearts! The Wahabis are this group which the ulama have identified! That is why everywhere they go they cause hatred amongst the local Muslims. Witness this in Afghanistan, Kashmir, Indo-Pak, Chechnya and now even Kurdistan (N Iran) where recently Wahabis have outraged the local Sunni Muslims by destroying the shrines of some prominent walis!

The reason they hate Ala Hazrat is because he was one of the first scholars to refute them in a scholarly manner!

Misle Faras zalzalay hoN Najd mein
Zikr e alaamat e Wiladat kejiye!

(Ala Hazrat)

Wahabis hate the celebration and mention of the mawlid (birth) of Allah`s Messenger sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam--although it is something which is done by all the other Muslims throughout the world! When HUzoor Paak were born there were earthquakes in Persia and the palaces of the ruler Chosroes trembled. Likewise says Ala Hazrat, if you mention Huzoor`s wilaadat e baa-saa`adat the Najdis will tremble too!

Ghalib Zaman Sahib (#43) … very perceptive of you. You seem to have more than rudimentary knowledge of the Ahmadi issue.

You are correct in that … validation from the ullema should not be an issue. However … a peaceful resolution to the state of affairs is certainly desirable on my part. Allah and Quran cannot be declared as proprietary items by the mullahs … barring others from openly accessing them. My issue with mullahs is not regarding Messiah or Mahdi etc. These matters are best left to one’s own judgment. My problem is with mullah’s misuse of religion for violence and hate-mongering. While this violence has caused much pain for all … Ahmadis have been largely singled out by all ullema for fatwas of kuffr and persecution.

As for Zafrullah Khan Sahib refusing to join-in in Quaid’s funeral prayers … my understanding is that Zafrullah Sahib opted out upon discovering that prayer were being led by Maulana Shabbir Usmani. Maulana Sahib was a bitter enemy of Ahmadis and had declared them as kaffirs and even “wajib-e-qatal”. This incident got much publicity … and it was only later that Zafrullah Sahib expressed his reasons for not praying behind Maulana Sahib. It is worth noting that Ahmadi jamaat has fond memories of Quaid … and holds him in high regard.

As for the backlash against Ahmadis … regarding who is and who is not a Muslim … from what I know … Ahmadi position against mullahs was in response to mullah issuing fatwas of kuffr against Ahmadis, throwing Ahmadis out of mosques, and resorting to abuse and slander of Mirza Sahib, and inciting people to hatred and violence against Ahmadis. I do not think any non-Ahmadis were ever tossed out of Ahmadi mosques. Nor did the Ahmadi jamaat engage in slander or abuse against the ullema. Even today, in response to violence, our position is to not resort to violence and to patiently bear the persecution the community is faced with.

As far as fatwas of kuffr against Ahmadis go … mullahs would have made up something or the other any way in attempts to validate their claims against Ahmadis. In the past they have accused Ahmadis of being British agents, Israeli agents, an international drug cartel, a clandestine ring of sex addicts, and more … the list goes on.

An interesting, funny (but meaningful) anecdote: (for the Wahabi and everyone else).

A pious but poor faqir was at the shrine of the great Saint Hazrat Ali Hijwiri Data Ganj e Bakhsh. He hadn`t eaten for ages and was turning to the saint in his shrine and asking him to act as an intermediary (wasila). He said, ``Data sahib kuchh day day bahut bhook lag rahi hai!`` All day he did this and no one gave him anything. But his aqeedah in the power of Allah`s awliya was strong and he was a true Muslim and so he continued asking of the Saint, ``Data day day..`` A Wahabi--much like salman_khan of chowk--heard him and since they hate the saints of Allah in general got angry and taking out a 100 rupee note gave it to the faqir saying, ``Yeh lay! Iss se kya maangta hai yeh tumhein kuchh nahin day sakta!`` and went on his way cursing the `ignorant` Muslim faqir. The faqir accepted the money and said (and here is the point) : ``WAH DAATA SAHIB! KYA SHAAN HAI AAP KI! DALWAAYA BHI HAI TUA KIS BAY-DEEN SE!``

Ghalib Zaman #48 Hamaari billi or hamaiN hee mia-a-owww!!
And here I was complimenting your concise insights concerning ahmedis, kafir wannabes, pirs, and so forth!!
As for whether I am more or less learned, corrupt etc., I must confess I am quite unlearned. Even plain ``rangroots`` (recruits) know more about some things (e.g. where their socks are located) than I do. Also, I am more corrupt than caine, since i covet every woman i have worked with. Please pray to Naqshbandi to pray to his pir to pray to HIS pir that I should become more learned and less corrupt.

You are no different than Naqshbandi...but muslim, nonetheless. No need to get upset if they seek guidance from those ruling from the tombstones.
The mullah & pir is perhaps as learned & modern as the westernised general or politician....maybe more so. ..and less corrupt for sure. who knows? Do you?

Hamidm Sahib …

On one hand I have ullema telling me to stop pretending … while you are hell bent on declaring me the same as the ullema. Then there is Ghalib Zaman Sahib … advising me to keep a low profile … at least until the incompetent workers at INS realize that Ahmadis read the same Quran as the other nerve-shattering Muslims … and place my papers also in a red folder. What is an innocent Ahmadi supposed to do … esp. when the tech gloom appears to be on its way to claiming the whole of FY03 … and the threat of a late-December parental visit from Karachi looms over my head?

Starving in ramazan may get me used to what lies ahead anyway, esp. if our CEO once again tells the JP Morgan boys to screw themselves, in the news conference scheduled for next week. Furthermore, being woken up by a screaming toddler at 3am reminds me that offering tahajjud is a better choice than fumbling for the milk bottle cap in the dark … and saying “asalamo alaikom brother” almost always results in an extra helping of food at the mosque around the corner from work. As for screaming azaan from a minaret … I am a bit uncomfortable with the idea … owing mainly to the west coast sniper who may have given my Muslim brothers a few new ideas on waging jihad on infidels … white, yellow, or brown.

As for you becoming a hindu to benefit from kama sutra … Sahib … whatever turns you on. May be we Muslims should have learnt a thing to two from the horrible Hindus before parting ways. I myself may consider jumping ship … if you assure me the grass really is greener … and that I still have a shot at entering the eternal gardens. But first, do check with the Imam about the punishment for apostasy … anonymously if you can.

Ghalib Zaman #43 you write to sattar2 ``Rejoice O Sattar2 you have just been reinstated a muslim by one who is yearning to be anointed a kaffir. Naqshbandi must also acknowledge the kufr of the one itching for such an honor. Strange that he ignores him.``
Seldom have truer words been said so succinctly on chowk!
I eagerly await to see if ``the one seeking anointment as kafir`` (Hamidm) uses this opportunity in a lifetime to obtain that ointment - I mean anointment - from the the Great Pir Naqshbandi. And it appears that the Great Pir`s Great Pir (Ala Hazrat), had is own Great Pirs whose graves he kissed. Unfortunately, as Salman Khan eloquently reminds us, the Great Pir`s Great Pir`s Great Pirs did not have the power to stop anyone - not a person, not even a goat - from using the grave to relieve himself. So perhaps, the Greatest of the Great Pirs is that goat relieving itself - Naqshbandi to please take note, and post on chowk a poem from the Ala Hazrat the Goat.
