vALUE OF LIFE - China and israel,

A few years ago, the world so one man stopping a column of tanks in thianemen square. That was the cruel crude, inhuman communist state.

This week we saw an israeli buldozer cooly running over a women protester. May be it is time that we have a look at value of human life for the israelis. It is so natural to see the israelis imitating the actions of the nazis, the extremes look alike, the distinctions between the victim and the perpetrator vanishes.

Salute to Rachel Corrie 23, an American giving her life to protect the palestinian right to exist. Were there any cautions by the US, only the media pundits quoting the Israeli Armys claim that the International Solidarity Movement Activists create problems for them to do their job. The job being destroying homes and getting ready to sync in the ethnic cleansing of the arabs to time with the savage and brutal buthery that will take place in Iraq. This is the true face of the UNITED STATES OF ISRAEL. America , if such a thing ever was, does not exist.

The world is a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don`t do anything about it. (Albert Einstein)

Rachel Corrie gave her life seeking to stop the evil. She is a martyr of peace. I share the grief of her family for her untimely death at the hands of the evil.

Do you think millions will die in Iraq? I would be willing to wager that less that 1000 iraqis will be killed, mostly military people. I would be willing to put down a $100 to back that up. Do you have the guts to make the bet?

While you are commisserating with the palestinians, spare a thought for the murdered civilians in Israel. Oooops, I am sorry, I forgot, once it is a freedom struggle it is OK to kill civilians. And if they are jews, well, what did they expect ! Right?

This discussion has the stench of self-righteous hypocrisy written all over it. I am out of here, this places stinks more than imaginable.....

BTW, here are some non-victims, right???

Argentine Judge Juan Jose Galeano orders arrest warrants for four Iranian government officials for allegedly helping organize and carry out 1994 bombing of Jewish community center in Buenos Aires that left 85 people dead

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has cut short a visit to the United States after a Palestinian suicide bomber killed 15 people and himself near the Israeli city of Tel Aviv.

19 people were killed and 74 injured - six seriously - in a suicide bombing at the Patt junction in Jerusalem. The bus, which was completely destroyed, was carrying many students on their way to school. Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack.

A suicide bomber detonated a large bomb at a busy train station in the northern Israeli town of Nahariya. The bombing at shortly after 10:50 this morning has so far claimed three lives, though there was some confusion as to whether the count included the suicide bomber. Is it our guruji? I agree with you completely. I have many friends in israel and many more friends here in the US who are jewish. I have been pondering the fact that many american jews have bought into the foreign-policy ideology of the ultra-right wing cabal that is running the white house. Is the perceived safety of israel so paramount that humanitarian and legal considerations are only secondary? Israeli jews on average tend to be a little more progressive than american jews, which is not saying mcuh, i admit. Odd that, considering that the israelis should be the ones putting the survival of israel above all else. However, the leftists there don`t see survival of israel and peaceful coexistence with the palestinians as mutually exclusive. American jews are on the whole a paranoid bunch that feels any little concession would cause the collapse of israel. Their extremism is almost nazist in that they don`t place ANY value on the life of non-jews. They and their fundamentalist christians look down on each other and based on that sharing of mutual distrust and antipathy, they have forged a strong relationship.

Sometimes I am not able rightly to apprehend the kind of confusion of
ideas that could provoke the above lines.

There is a Christian belief that there will be a Second Coming and that it will come about liek this: Jews will return to Israel which will be followed by a huge war, after which most Jews will convert to Christianity and THEN there will be a Second Coming of the Messiah(of Jesus Christ?).

That is cited as the reason that fundamentalist Christians/rightwing in the US like Pat Robertson and others support the pro-Israeli cause.

The people on that small piece of land are having to pay the price for a huge fraction of the world population`s mythology.

If drudgereport is to be believed -
``Troops hope to have Saddam Hussein surrounded in Baghdad within four days after an unprecedented aerial blitz which will obliterate one in 10 major buildings in Iraq``
If sobia accepts your wager, you will most probably lose. Of course, it depends on where you get the death-count from.

re#5:

before making such bets, make sure you have all the conditions in place. those killed due to a decade of sanctions dont` count. only count those who die during the `official` days of the war. you can`t count those who will suffer fighting an occupying power over the next few years. also, when tallying, distinguish the circumstances of the people who will die- just so you have an excuse to keep the tally low- ie these killed people wo`nt count: if the bomb accidently went off target, saddam had used those civilians as a shield etc.

I`m not going to wager about how many people will die in a war. That`s sick.

No, of course not, how could I ask you stand behind your own statements? I should be ashamed of myself.

It is so much more fun for you to just make wildly exagerated claims and enjoy fact-free emotionalism !! Enjoy !
