Thanks everyone.

Studebaker: My idea of nonconformity is just that one steps off the beaten track - maybe a psychological thing like you said.

t - it`s hard to be unique, isn`t it.

Scout - I could do that, but I chose not to. :)

Brat - good question! Hmm. I`d say, yes there`d be a change. Not a good one. Because then nothing would be difficult or challenging - it`d be a linear journey. And I think lines alone are not very interesting.

Stuka- lol, I am not surprised. I have heard you at Unplugged. I get the joke though. Tongue must remain locked - well guess I was simply trying to imply silence.

Thanks all. Your feedback is much appreciated.

kamala #8 You have the strangest writing style I have come across. The spelling is fine, the grammer is basically OK, and yet the sentences dont make any sense. Or perhaps they make too much sense and go way over my head.

To take just the following lines from your post:

``growth in normal laquage is growth. forced growth has side effect leading to something else. theft for growth lands people in prison and losses later.
method untilized is anti-growth
additive for growth is resulting in non growth -rot .``

What on earth are you communicating here?

Beautifully captured thoughts S.H.
Welcome to Chowk.

The struggle reminds me of a favorite ``nazm`` of Faiz - ``Bol ke lab azaad hain tere, bol zabaaN ab tak terii hai, tera sutwaaN jism hai tera, bol ke jaaN ab tak terii hai...``

So much of our lives is caught in the must nots and should nots, and it leaves little room for growth and change.

I imagine it will always be so, but I guess at the same time trying to limit people only nurtures creative thought and expression. Do you think there would be a change in art if there were no limits/barriers/problems placed upon artists?

SH:

welcome!

some musings if i may?;)

...yes ulitmately...the spirit is free...the vessel, container, body imprisoning it is not....

...the tongue is contained...yet it could be and indeed is free...for it is the tongue that gives forms and shapes to the wandering of the mind...without it (and by implication) words...ideas and probings of the mind would continue to soar into outer space unidentified, unprobed and unchallenged...

the tussle...the (apparent) inner tussle on an individual level and (the unapparent) collective tussle...the skirmishes and battle it fights is the root motivator for propelling us forward...

...that uniqueness..for it to be good..it has to break the shell and outshine the mediocrity all around...other wise ...it shall remain one of the six billion plus and no more...

rgds,

t

there is no point to poetry, why don`t you just write about your disillusionment in normal language

Bitter Truths in Sweet Life

Carrying on defenceless and attacking without ammo.
Don`t know which chance to capture and whichever to let go?
Everyday and dozen close and the new doors open...
The show itself keeps hiding behind curtain after curtain.
On a path that you seek with passion and despair..
A Predicament falls from nowhere, despite however much you prepare.
You are prejudiced if thy conscientious!
And brutalized if show conscience!
If ethically you are righteous, then politically incorrect.
The war is here on morals, and its your turn to select.
Learn a lot, unlearn some, and devise a mode of survival.
The one holding your hand today, may tomorrow be your rival.
Disquieting as it may seem, Don`t trust no one with trust.
Your faith in sheer humanity will crumble like a crust.
The egos here are monstrous and ethos always cry.
The ocean`s full of sharks and you are just a fry.
Poor Eros sits perched, upon a hot tin roof.
Anarchy is in the air, and he broods perpetually aloof.
Aspiration will make you vulnerable, your believes over strata.
No use of it, one day they`ll make you: Persona Non Grata.

These random musings are indeed free like the spirit.

Reminds me of a slightly different way in which Shakespeare looked at the same situation:

``When this body
Did contain a spirit
A kingdom for it
Was too small a bound
Now two paces of vile earth
Is room enough.

wonderful musings `S.H`.

those unique fingerprints must be there precisely so we can scractch out our own destiny. otherwise, they serve no purpose.
