--yaar tum khush kyuN rehtay hO
*kya mutlab?
--one sees sadness and misery all over
famine in Africa
near-war in occupied territories
calamities, fires, floods, ‘quakes
uncontrolled spread of
hatred, suicidal bombers, aids
the gulf between the North and the South
rich and poor, tolerant and intolerant
extremist and moderates
*to kya rotay rahaiN?
--tum bay-hiss hO
*me insensitive?
Arey kitni dafa bataya hay am no god

Very nice poem. So many people commented on it but none read close enough to suggest a minor point. The last but one line could be ``and contentedly``. That would enhance the music.

Dear temporal,
kia khoob kaha hai.
For your son! from someone his age:)
Life isn`t about finding yourself, life is about creating yourself.
And you don`t have to know all and definately not expect your elders to know all, for what would life be like if all your answers could be answered by some elder!!!
Regards,
Taimur.

`America`s Arts in Crisis` , printed in The Independant, UK.
``Culture in the United States is in acute crisis as state governments across the country ponder eliminating funding for the arts entirely to help to bridge some of the worst budget deficits in decades.
To the abject dismay of many arts advocates, at least three states have put forward plans to suspend all funding for cultural organizations for the foreseeable future. The first state to take such drastic action is likely to be Arizona.
Politicians in Arizona will soon begin debating proposals to shut its state arts agency for a saving of about $5.1m (£3.2m). They also recommend that a state endowment of $7m for arts programs in the state be scrapped.``.....

Reminds me of this joke.
When are you ready to get your Bachelor`s degree?
When you think you know everything.
When are you ready to get your Master`s degree?
When you think you don`t know anything.
When are you ready to get your doctorate?
When you are damn sure you don`t know anything and you are convinced that your thesis advisor is the same.

lament
shikwa
as god (you remember my god smiles?)
showed adam the door,
said leave, leave for your temporal abode
adam, the first poet, had he published
am sure would have opted for temporal
as his pseudonym,
am not sure, am positive he would be
the first temporal!
…and so on and on…
therefore my dear cute chowk editors
and janab khamkwa
confess i to be temporal bin temp
or temporal bin temporal bin temp
or temporal bin temp bin tempu bin …
or simply temporal, sweet and short.
shukria, urstruly, cmp99,
veeresh, Jawahara, Ana, afrasiyab,
nasah, nazar, Ras, aamir, shandy,
Ahmedzai, kashaziz and others
a big fat thanks....
ferzi, ferzi do not fume
will write, call, sing, dance, shortly
demarcation is a must
‘cause my god smiles always
while their god breathes fire and rage.

When you are seventeen, you not only know everything, you are also invincible. Your body is Made in Japan, guaranteed to last forever.

t mate,
You may be no God but to realise that you know nothing (a conclusion that we all arrive at sometime during our life) and if I may add, that we all run on faith of different shades throughout our lives, certainly makes you wise.

I know this is genuine humility, but isn`t there a certain `saintliness` in such abjurance? And if every life is valuable at every level, then those ``barely inches`` above the ground matter too...I know this was a simple and lovely poem for a son, but...
Does god know everything? Does god do anything? And how/why have you demarcarted between god and God?
lve, F
PS: am fuming and you know why...

Temporal
Short, simple & full of essance.
The more one knows, the more one realizes his ignorance.
good one.

temporal has made a really tall work out of a short poem here.
Could not agree more with the sentiments expressed.
Getting older.
Not wiser.
Still a rebel.

hmm, well,..., temporal ji, you are not that old, first of all.
Second, the poem is great BUT, would it be better expressed with an analogy or a story within the poem. It may make the poem a little longer but what you could do is allude to that analogy or story and not go after the details. Just a random thought.
