Sahih Al Bukhari:

Vol 1, #626: If they do not go to mosque, burn them first and then their house.

....................................................................................................................................

This was just Prophet`s displeasure and annoyance for his companions who were lazy to attend his congregation prayers.

Quote me just one example if it really happened in his time or his followers time. Leave alone `burn someone or his house, cite me any incidence if someone was even punished for not going to mosque in his times or his companions time. And I will quote you cruel punishments in Army for missing a `drill`.

dost mittar #183 As i wrote in a post below, i dont need to convince (or convert, to use your term) any pakistani that islam is a religion of peace and tolerance: as should be obvious from the responses from pakistanis on this board (fuzair, cipram, shobuz, sattar2, hamidm as well as myself). if even you, one of the most thoughtful and balanced indians on chowk have this impression that pakistanis are enamored by the bloodthirsty jihadis, that tells me a lot of the disinformation that two generations of indians have been fed about pakistanis.

RationalFaith: You can WISH that anew is the winner, given that you have already demonstrated that you share the mindset of hindu extremists who are only too happy to see pakistan suffer. But if wishes were horses, every hindu extremist would be riding on a horse. As the discussion on this board shows, anew lost since (a) he was unable to respond to questions raised about his posts by a number of people on this board (e.g. fuzair, myself, shobuz) and chose instead to try and bury them with his voluminour posts. and (b) NOT one pakistani supported his views - the only one who was pleased to see the garbage that anew was posting was yourself (part of the pakistan haters from india on chowk, since he confirms the worst image of the pakistanis that you people try so hard to project on chowk), and hamidm was happy since it gives him ammunition to ridicule the Abduls (the average pakistani) and his beliefs.

Thus, praise from a pakistan hater like you proves, if indeed further proof was needed, that the mullah (represented quite accurately by anew) is as big an enemy of the pakistani people as the hindu extremist who would love to do to pakistanis (IF only he could) what he did to muslims in gujerat. Thank you very much for helping me out here. And forget my oritinal advice: dont try to live up to this self-flattering title of yours (Rational Faith) - with fools like you as enemies, pakistanis dont need any friends.

anew Sahib,

Your posts, while condemning Ahmadis, fail to give valid sound reasons for your views. They seem to be based on hearsay and propaganda. I hope you have something more than a letter from Iqbal. A few things worth mentioning are …

- Quran does not declare that prophethood has ended. Rather, it suggests that door to prophethood remains open, and Allah may raise prophets for guidance of mankind as needed. This view is fully supported by ahadith … as well as views of some prominent scholars from the history of Islam.

....................................................................................................................................

There are one or more sayings of the Prophet Muhammad(S) transmitted by Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah and Ahmad in their respective collections of Hadith books regarding Al-Masih Al-Maw`oud, the Promised Messiah. Fazlul Karim, in his translation of Mishkat Al-Masabih published under the title ``Al-Hadis`` Vol.IV, pages 82-83, quotes four Ahadith from sound sources. Sayings of the Prophet Muhammad(S) are clear in identifying the Promised Messiah to be the great Prophet of Allah Isa(A) (Jesus) who was raised up towards Allah according to the Qur`an, Surah 4 Ayah 158. In the same Surah, Ayah 157 is clear that the Prophet Isa(A) was neither killed nor died on the cross but it appeared so to his contemporaries who claimed to have witnessed the event.
However, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiyani (1839-1908), the founder of the, so called, Ahmadiya Movement in Islam, commonly known among Muslims as Qadiyanism or Mirzaiyat, denied that meaning of the Qur`anic verses (referred to above) as understood by Islamic scholars for thirteen centuries. He claimed that Isa Ibn Maryam(A) travelled to Kashmir, lived for a long full life, died and was buried there. This claim of Ghulam Qadiyani goes against the record of Christians as well as Muslims.

Instead of believing as Muslims believe (see the Qur`an 2:13), Ghulam claimed that he was Maryam (Mary, mother of Jesus(A)), he became pregnant and delivered himself as Jesus and turned into the Promised Messiah. On top of this, he claimed that he was the fulfillment of the prophesies of Prophet Muhammad(S). All references to Ghulam Qadiyani`s claim and writing in this brochure are in ``QADIYANIAT, AN ANALYTICAL SURVEY`` by Ehsan Elahi Zaheer, published by Idara Tarjuman Al-Sunnah, Lahore, Pakistan.

Due to the lack of space, full text of Ahadith (teachings of Prophet Muhammad(S)) will not be given, instead, relevant pieces of Ahadith will be given in simple language (underlined for emphasis) and claim of Ghulam Qadiyani will be examined.

1. The Promised Messiah shall be the son of Mary and none else. Ghulam Ahmad Qadiyani was not the son of Mary but son of an Indian lady whose name was not Mary but it was Chiragh Bibi. Just to fit himself into the prophesy he concocted the story that he himself was Mary, became pregnant, delivered himself and so on. He wrote, ``I was made Mary. I remained Mary for two years. Then the soul of Jesus was blown into me as it was blown inside Mary. Thus I conceived metaphorically. After some months, not exceeding ten, I changed from Mary and was made Jesus. In this manner, I became `son of Mary```. Another time Ghulam Qadiyani wrote, ``I saw myself as if I am a woman and Allah expressed in me His reproductive power of manliness.``

2. The Promised Messiah ``shall descend amidst you``. Ghulam Qadiyani himself wrote: ``It occurs in Hadith that the Messiah shall descend from the sky and will be (clad) in two yellow sheets``. Ghulam Qadiyani did not descend from anywhere but appointed himself. He was born of Chiragh Bibi.

3.The Promised Messiah shall descend on the white minaret of a mosque in the eastern part of Damascus. He did two things to fit himself into this part of the prophesy. (a) He claimed that the village of Qadiyan was like Damascus and he tried to fabricate similarities between Damascus and Qadiyan. (b) He built a mosque with a minaret in Qadiyan and painted it white. He called the minaret, ``Minaret of the Messiah``. However, he could not show people that he was descending from heaven on the minaret. Had there been helicopters in those days he, perhaps, would have borrowed one from the British to show himself descending on the minaret from a helicopter.

4. The Promised Messiah shall descend while clad in two yellow sheets. Ghulam Qadiyani rationalized that two yellow sheets meant two diseases. He said that he was suffering from polyuria (mituration) and giddiness of head. He boasted that he urinated 100 times a day. He also contradicted himself while saying, ``It is possible that another Messiah may descend whom befit the qualities mentioned in the Hadith, manifestly.`` Finally, he told the truth when he wrote, ``two self-contradictory sayings can only come from a madman or from a hypocrite.``

5. The Promised Messiah shall break the cross. This prophesy was interpreted to mean that all Christians shall convert to Islam and Christianity as a separate religion shall cease to exist. Qadiyani himself wrote, ``The purpose of descent of Messiah is that the theory of Trinity will be completely obliterated...`` It is obvious that Christians have multiplied manyfold during the last century. Even in the District of Gordaspur the Christian population increased eight-fold between the time of Qadiyani`s claim of Messiahship and his death. Ghulam Qadiyani said to emphasize his mission of obliterating Christianity from the earth, ``If I do not do for the protection of Islam what is attributed to the Promised Messiah and I die, bear witness that I am a liar.`` Well! Time has given the proof of what he was.

6. The Promised Messiah shall kill the pig. This prophesy was interpreted that the eating of pig products shall cease to exist. Obviously, this prophesy was not fulfilled.

7. The Promised Messiah shall be a just ruler. A just ruler is not a subject of any people or government. Firstly, Ghulam Qadiyani was a subject of the British throne not a ruler. He boasted, ``Till his death, my father remained a sincere servant of the English Government``. About himself he boasted, ``I rose to the service of the English Government with my hand and pen ... I have promised to God that I shall not write a book except that I shall mention in it the favours of the Imperial Government``.

Secondly, he was accused by his own followers to be an embezzler of funds of his community. He was not even a just leader of his small community.

8. The Promised Messiah shall bring all humanity under one religion, Islam, before his death. Ghulam Qadiyani himself agreed, ``... during the period of the Promised Messiah the false religious communities will perish.`` He further clarified at another place, ``... lies will completely vanish and all religious communities except Islam will be destroyed.`` A century has passed since Qadiyani`s claim of Messiahship yet the Muslims of the world remain 20 to 25 percent of the world population. If Qadiyani population only is considered (because Ghulam taught them that they are the only Muslims in the world) they are under 0.02% of the world population.

9. The Promised Messiah shall kill the Dajjal, the Deceiver, at the gate of Ludd or Lydda. Frequently Dajjal is translated as ``Anti-Christ`` which may not be true. In fact, in Islam, there is no concept of Anti-Christ associated with a person. Ghulam Qadiyani himself wrote, ``Then, Messiah son of Mary shall move out in search of the Dajjal; he will overtake him at the gate of a town among the towns of Bait Al-Muqaddas (Jerusalem) known as Ludd and kill him.`` As we know that no such person having attributes of the Dajjal has appeared, yet. Naturally, Qadiyani did not kill any Dajjal, he was never accused of killing any person nor he visited Ludd or Lydda.

10. Allah will generate so much wealth under the rule of the Promised Messiah that no beggar and no poverty will be left in the world. It is no secret that there is poverty and hunger all over the world including in the most prosperous First World of the West. Ghulam Qadiyani himself was a beggar; he wrote, ``It is necessary for everyone of my followers to remit to me monthly sum of his money.`` Qadiyani`s brother-in-law Mirza Sher Ali used to say, ``Ghulam Ahmad is indeed, a liar and a looter; he has opened this shop to grab money from people``.

11. The Promised Messiah will establish peace on earth. The lion will graze about with a camel, the leopard with a cow, the wolf with a sheep, Children will play with snakes who will not harm them. Ghulam Qadiyani lived for almost seventeen years after the claim of his Messiahship but he did not establish peace on earth. In fact, two world wars took place and hundreds of small wars have taken lives of millions of people since the death of Qadiyani. There has been inestimable damage to the environment during periods of ``peace`` and also due to wars. Lions continue to eat their favorite animals and snakes continue to bite people.

12. The Promised Messiah shall perform Hajj or Umra or both. Ghulam Qadiyani was so scared of dying that he did not perform Hajj or Umra despite his claim about himself, ``And God will protect you from people``.

13. The Promised Messiah shall remain on earth for forty-five years before dying. About Ghulam Qadiyani, his son Bashir Ahmad wrote, ``His Holiness announced that he had been commissioned for the reformation of this Ummah in the year 1882. In the year 1889 he announced that he is the revivalist (mujaddid). He remained steadfast on this until in 1891 he announced that he is ``the Promised Messiah``. From the time of his birth in 1839-40 he lived for 68-69 years, dying in 1908. The time of his claim to be a reformer was 26 years, the time of his claim to be a mujaddid was 19 years and the time of his claim to Messiahship was 17 years until his death. When is one supposed to begin counting to make 45 years of Messiahship?

14. Ghulam Qadiyani agreed with a Hadith, ``Indeed the Prophet of God said that the Messiah will be buried in my grave``. Ghulam Qadiyani did not even visit the grave of the Prophet(S). He died in Lahore, his body was carried to Qadiyan where he was buried.

The above 14 points mentioned in prophesies of the Prophet Muhammad(S) regarding the Promised Messiah and their analysis in the light of Ghulam Ahmad Qadiyani show that the claimant of Messiahship was a liar and an imposter. The Promised Messiah, Jesus(A) is yet to descend and he will at the time appointed by Allah Himself.

How does Qadianism (Ahmadiyyat) differ from Islam?

According to the tenet of their faith, the Qadianis (Ahmadis) are required to study, accept, and follow the works, ``revelations`` (wahi), and writings of Mirza Ghulam Qadiani. In his books, Mirza Ghulam Qadiani makes the claim that he is in direct communication with God and ordains it upon his followers to believe in ``Islam`` according to his revelations. We have summarized here some of the differences between Qadianis (Ahmadis) and Muslims. It should be obvious that most of the beliefs instructed by Mirza Ghulam Qadiani contradict verses of the Holy Quran -- not to mention hundreds of authentic Hadith and Islamic doctrine.
It is unfortunate that many of the people who have been tricked into accepting Qadianism (Ahmadiyyat) are unaware of this aspect of the Qadiani (Ahmadi) doctrine. Since the rituals of Qadianism resembles that of Islam and much of their terminology is stolen from Islam, many Qadianis are under the impression that they are following an Islamic school of thought. They continue to blindly send their donations to the Qadiani (Ahmadi) leadership thinking they are supporting Islam, when in reality they are helping a non Islamic cult. For the most part, the followers of Qadianism neither have a good grasp of Islam nor have access to the complete writings of Mirza Ghulam Qadiani -- which are mostly written in Urdu -- and are not aware of his various claims.

The following are some of the difference between Islam and Qadianism (Ahmadiyyat ):

Qadianism (Ahmadiyyat) is based on the belief that Mirza was an improved second reincarnation of hazrat Muhammad(SAW).

Qadianism (Ahmadiyyat) rejects the concept of absolute Finality of Prophethood in hazrat Muhammad(SAW), as confirmed in Quran, Hadith, Sunnah of the Holy Prophet(SAW), Tradition of Companions, the writings of Muslim Scholars and personalities, and concensus of the entire Ummah for almost 1500 years.

Qadianism (Ahmadiyyat) maintains that Mirza Ghulam Qadiani was a Prophet (nabi and rasul) of God.

Qadianism (Ahmadiyyat) rejects the concept of completion of the revelations of Allah(SWT) in the Holy Quran.

Qadianism (Ahmadiyyat) holds that Mirza Ghulam Qadiani`s revelations (Books) were on the same level as all prior revelations (Quran, Bible, Torah). In their view, simply following Quran and Sunnah, as Muslims have done since the beginning of Islam, is not a basis for living a righteous life and gaining the pleasure of the Creator. Interestingly, the Qadiani leadership has refused to allow a translation of these books, so that everyone may become familiar with the irrational teachings and contradictory claims of the founder of their organization.

Qadianism (Ahmadiyyat) rejects authentic Hadith based on Mirza`s alleged revelations and teaches his personal interpretation of the Holy Quran. Qadiani (Ahmadiyya) leadership has forged several unauthentic translations of the Holy Quran to try to confuse and mislead uninformed individuals.

Qadianism (Ahmadiyyat) teaches that Jesus(pbuh) had been crucified, but did not die from his injuries. Instead, it advocates the view that Jesus(pbuh) recovered from his injuries, escaped to Kashmir (India), where he lived for another 86 years, and is buried there.

Whereas Jesus(pbuh) is acknowledged as a great prophet of Allah in Islam, Mirza Ghulam took the liberty of making demeaning and vulgar remarks against him and his honored mother, rejected his miracles, belittled his mission and denied his return before the Day of Judgment. It is such unbecoming teachings that have resulted in hateful retributions by extremist Christians evangelical groups against Muslims, Prophet Muhammad(SAW), and Islam.

Qadianism (Ahmadiyyat) maintains that Mirza Ghulam Qadiani was ``the promised Messiah``. The Qadianis (Ahmadis) reject the advent of Jesus Christ(pbuh), son of Mary, as the Messiah, just before the Day of Judgment.

Qadianism (Ahmadiyyat) teaches that Mirza Ghulam Qadiani was also the promised Mahdi (guided one).

Qadianism (Ahmadiyyat) teaches that Mirza Ghulam Qadiani was also the expected Hindu lord, Krishna.

Qadianism (Ahmadiyyat) intollerantly declares the entire manking, except for those who naively accept the irrational notions and contradictory claims of Mirza Ghulam Qadiani, to be unbelievers and bound for hell. Qadiani leadership has announced all Muslims to be unbelievers and has forbidden its followers from wedding their daughters to Muslims, praying behind Muslims, and offering prayer on their deceased - be it a child or an adult.

Qadianism (Ahmadiyyat) teaches that struggle for freedom, independence and self-determination against the tyranny, extremism and oppression (Jihad) of those military powers that support Qadianism has been made Haraam.

At its birth, being a protoge of the oppressive British Empire of the time, Qadianism (Ahmadiyyat) required complete devotion and obedience to the British Government, as an article of faith. While freedom loving people around the globe were rising up against the British subjugation, Qadianis were being required to be willing to sacrifice their wealth, talent, and soul in the cause of the Crown. Britain is presently the headquarter of the Qadiani Movement.

Qadianism (Ahmadiyyat) holds two cities in India (Qadian) and Pakistan (Rabwah) as holy as Mekkah and Madinah. Qadianis (Ahmadiyya) are supposed to perform Hajj by attending their annual congregation, instead of visiting Mekkah.

Qadianism (Ahmadiyyat) maintains that Mirza Ghulam Qadiani was superior to all the Prophets(pbut) of Allah(SWT).

Qadianism (Ahmadiyyat) refers to the companions of Mirza Ghulam Qadiani as Sahaba and his wives as Mother of the Believers (Ummahatul Muminin).

Qadianism (Ahmadiyyat) advances the notion that many verses of the Holy Quran were revealed to Mirza Ghulam Qadiani and that many of the praises of Prophet Muhammad(SAW), mentioned in Quran, were really intended for Mirza Ghulam Qadiani.

Qadianism (Ahmadiyyat) claims Mirza`s Mosque at Qadian (India) to be Masjid-ul-Aqsa.

References to the Qadiani books requiring these beliefs are provided on various articles at this site. If you have been tricked into accepting Qadianism (Ahmadiyyat) without being told of these and other truths, please be assured that our quotes are based on authentic writings of the founders of that organization. What you have fallen in love with is Islam and not Qadianism. The door of salvation remains open to all, but you will need to take the first step, you must be seeking the truth to receive guidance.

Has not the Time arrived for the Believers that their hearts in all humility should engage in the remembrance of Allah and of the Truth which has been revealed (to them), and that they should not become like those to whom was given Revelation aforetime, but long ages passed over them and their hearts grew hard? For many among them are rebellious transgressors.
(The Holy Quran, Al-Hadid, 57:16)

We beseach Allah(SWT) to guide all sincere individuals to the right path and save them from the mischievous ploys of the enemies of Islam.

In the linguistic sense, the Arabic word ``jihad`` means struggling or striving and applies to any effort exerted by anyone. In this sense, a student struggles and strives to get an education and pass course work; an employee strives to fulfill his/her job and maintain good relations with his/her employer; a politician strives to maintain or increase his(1) popularity with his constituents and so on. The term strive or struggle may be used for/by Muslims as well as non-Muslims; for example, Allah, the One and Only True God says in the Qur`an:
``We have enjoined on people kindness to parents; but if they strive (Jahadaka) to make you ascribe partners with Me that of which you have no knowledge, then obey them not...``
(The Holy Quran, 29:8; also see 31:15)
In the above two verses of the Qur`an , it is non-Muslim parents who strive (jahadaka) to convert their Muslim child back to their religion. In the West, ``jihad`` is generally translated as ``holy war,`` a usage the media has popularized. According to Islamic teachings, it is unholy to instigate or start war; however, some wars are inevitable and justifiable.

If we translate the words ``holy war`` back into Arabic, we find ``harbun muqaddasatu,`` or for ``the holy war,`` ``al-harbu al-muqaddasatu.`` We challenge any researcher or scholar to find the meaning of ``jihad`` as holy war in the Qur`an or authentic Hadith collections or in early Islamic literature. Unfortunately, some Muslim writers and translators of the Qur`an, the Hadith and other Islamic literature translate the term ``jihad`` as ``holy war,`` due to the influence of centuries-old Western propaganda.

This could be a reflection of the Christian use of the term ``Holy War`` to refer to the Crusades of a thousand years ago. However, the Arabic words for ``war`` are ``harb`` or ``qital,`` which are found in the Qur`an and Hadith.

For Muslims the term Jihad is applied to all forms of striving and has developed some special meanings over time. The sources of this development are the Qur`an (the Word of God revealed to Prophet Muhammad(S) [(S) denotes Sall-Allahu `alayhi wa sallam, meaning peace and blessings of Allah be upon him]. The Qur`an and the Hadith use the word ``jihad`` in several different contexts which are given below:

1. RECOGNIZING THE CREATOR AND LOVING HIM MOST:

It is human nature to love what is seen with the eyes and felt with the senses more than the unseen reality. The Creator of the Universe and the One God is Allah. He is the Unseen Reality which we tend to ignore and not recognize. The Qur`an addresses those who claim to be believers:

``O you who believe! Choose not your fathers nor your brethren for protectors if they love disbelief over belief; whoever of you takes them for protectors, such are wrong-doers. Say: if your fathers, and your children, and your brethren, and your spouses, and your tribe, and the wealth you have acquired, and business for which you fear shrinkage, and houses you are pleased with are dearer to you than Allah and His Messenger and striving in His way: then wait till Allah brings His command to pass. Allah does not guide disobedient folk.``
(The Holy Quran 9:23, 24)
It is indeed a struggle to put Allah ahead of our loved ones, our wealth, our worldly ambitions and our own lives. Especially for a non-Muslim who embraces Islam, it may be a tough struggle due to the opposition of his family, peers and society.

2. RESISTING PRESSURE OF PARENTS, PEERS, AND SOCIETY:

Once a person has made up his mind to put the Creator of the Universe above all else, he often comes under intense pressures. It is not easy to resist such pressures and strive to maintain dedication and love of Allah over all else. A person who has turned to Islam from another religion may be subjected to pressures designed to turn him back to the religion of the family. We read in the Qur`an:

``So obey not the rejecters of faith, but strive (jahidhum) against them by it (the Qur`an) with a great endeavor.``
(The Holy Quran, 25:52)
3. STAYING ON THE STRAIGHT PATH STEADFASTLY:

Allah says in the Qur`an:

``And strive (Jadihu) for Allah with the endeavor (Jihadihi) which is His right. He has chosen you and has not laid upon you in the deen (religion) any hardship...``
(The Holy Quran, 22:78)
``And whosoever strives (Jahada), strives (yujahidu) only for himself, for lo! Allah is altogether independent of the universe.``
(The Holy Quran, 29:6)
As for those who strive and struggle to live as true Muslims whose lives are made difficult due to persecution by their opponents, they are advised to migrate to a more peaceful and tolerant land and continue with their struggle in the cause of Allah. Allah says in the Qur`an:

``Lo! As for those whom the angels take (in death) while they wronged themselves, (the angels) will ask: `In what you were engaged?` They will way: `We were oppressed in the land.` (The angels) will say: `Was not Allah`s earth spacious that you could have migrated therein?```
(The Holy Quran, 4:97)
``Lo! Those who believe, and those who emigrate (to escape persecution) and strive (Jahadu) in the way of Allah, these have hope of Allah`s mercy...``
(The Holy Quran, 2:218)

Allah tests the believers in their faith and their steadfastness:

``Or did you think that you would enter Paradise while yet Allah knows not those of you who really strive (Jahadu), nor knows those (of you) who are steadfast.``
(The Holy Quran, 3:142)
``And surely We shall try you with something of fear and hunger, and loss of wealth and lives and fruits; but give tidings to the steadfast.``
(The Holy Quran, 2:155)

We find that the Prophet Muhammad(S) and his clan were boycotted socially and economically for three years to force him to stop his message and compromise with the pagans but he resisted and realized a moral victory(2).

4. STRIVING FOR RIGHTEOUS DEEDS:

Allah declares in the Qur`an:

``As for those who strive (Jahadu) in Us (the cause of Allah), We surely guide them to Our paths, and lo! Allah is with the good doers.``
(The Holy Quran, 29:69)
When we are faced with two competing interests, it becomes jihad to choose the right one, as the following Hadith exemplify:

``Aisha, wife of the Prophet(S) asked, `O Messenger of Allah, we see jihad as the best of deeds, so shouldn`t we join it?` He replied, `But the best of jihad is a perfect Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah).```
(Sahih Al-Bukhari, No. 2784)
At another occasion, a man asked the Prophet Muhammad(S):

```Should I join the jihad?` He asked, `Do you have parents?` The man said, `Yes!` The Prophet(S) said, `Then strive by serving them!```
(Sahih Al-Bukhari, No. 5972)
Yet another man asked the Messenger of Allah(S):
```What kind of jihad is better?` He replied, `A word of truth in front of an oppressive ruler!``` (Sunan Al-Nasa`i , No. 4209)
The Messenger of Allah(S) said:

``...the Mujahid (one who carries out jihad) is he who strives against himself for the sake of Allah, and the Muhajir (one who emigrates) is he who abandons evil deeds and sin.``
(Sahih Ibn Hibbanm, No. 4862)
5. HAVING COURAGE AND STEADFASTNESS TO CONVEY THE MESSAGE OF ISLAM:

The Qur`an narrates the experiences of a large number of Prophets and good people who suffered a great deal trying to convey the message of Allah to mankind. For examples, see the Qur`an 26:1-190, 36:13-32. In the Qur`an, Allah specifically praises those who strive to convey His message:

``Who is better in speech than one who calls (other people) to Allah, works righteous, and declares that he is from the Muslims.`` (The Holy Quran, 41:33)
Under adverse conditions it takes great courage to remain a Muslim, declare oneself to be a Muslim and call others to Islam. We read in the Qur`an:

``The (true) believers are only those who believe in Allah and his messenger and afterward doubt not, but strive with their wealth and their selves for the cause of Allah. Such are the truthful.`` (The Holy Quran, 49:15)
6. DEFENDING ISLAM AND THE COMMUNITY:

Allah declares in the Qur`an:

``To those against whom war is made, permission is given (to defend themselves), because they are wronged - and verily, Allah is Most Powerful to give them victory - (they are) those who have been expelled from their homes in defiance of right - (for no cause) except that they say, `Our Lord is Allah`...``
(The Holy Quran, 22:39-40)
The Qur`an permits fighting to defend the religion of Islam and the Muslims. This permission includes fighting in self-defense and for the protection of family and property. The early Muslims fought many battles against their enemies under the leadership of the Prophet Muhammad(S) or his representatives. For example, when the pagans of Quraysh brought armies against Prophet Muhammad(S), the Muslims fought to defend their faith and community(3). The Qur`an adds:

``Fight in the cause of Allah against those who fight against you, but do not transgress limits. Lo! Allah loves not aggressors. ...And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah. But if they desist, then let there be no hostility except against transgressors.``
(The Holy Quran, 2:190, 193)
7. HELPING ALLIED PEOPLE WHO MAY NOT BE MUSLIM:

In the late period of the Prophet Muhammad`s(S) life, the tribe of Banu Khuza`ah became his ally. They were living near Makkah which was under the rule of the pagan Quraysh, Prophet Muhammad`s(S) own tribe. The tribe of Banu Bakr, an ally of Quraysh, with the help of some elements of Quraysh, attacked Banu Khuza`ah invoked the treaty and demanded Prophet Muhammad(S) to come to their help and punish Quraysh. The Prophet Muhammad(S) organized a campaign against Quraysh of Makkah which resulted in the conquest of Makkah which occurred without any battle(4).

8. REMOVING TREACHEROUS PEOPLE FROM POWER:

Allah orders the Muslims in the Qur`an:

``If you fear treachery from any group, throw back (their treaty) to them, (so as to be) on equal terms. Lo! Allah loves not the treacherous.``
(The Holy Quran, 8:58)
Prophet Muhammad(S) undertook a number of armed campaigns to remove treacherous people from power and their lodgings. He had entered into pacts with several tribes, however, some of them proved themselves treacherous. Prophet Muhammad(S) launched armed campaigns against these tribes, defeated and exiled them from Medina and its surroundings(5).

9. DEFENDING THROUGH PREEMPTIVE STRIKES:

Indeed, it is difficult to mobilize people to fight when they see no invaders in their territory; however, those who are charged with responsibility see dangers ahead of time and must provide leadership. The Messenger of Allah, Muhammad(S), had the responsibility to protect his people and the religion he established in Arabia. Whenever he received intelligence reports about enemies gathering near his borders he carried out preemptive strikes, broke their power and dispersed them(6). Allah ordered Muslims in the Qur`an:

``Fighting is prescribed upon you, and you dislike it. But it may happen that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and it may happen that you love a thing which is bad for you. And Allah knows and you know not.``
(The Holy Quran, 2:216)
10. GAINING FREEDOM TO INFORM, EDUCATE AND CONVEY THE MESSAGE OF ISLAM IN AN OPEN AND FREE ENVIRONMENT:

Allah declares in the Qur`an:

``They ask you (Muhammad) concerning fighting in the Sacred Month. Say, `Fighting therein is a grave (offense) but graver is it in the sight of Allah to prevent access to the path of Allah, to deny Him, to prevent access to the Sacred Mosque, and drive out its inhabitants. Persecution is worse than killing. Nor will they cease fighting you until they turn you back from your faith, if they can...``
(The Holy Quran, 2:217)
``And those who, when an oppressive wrong is inflicted on them, (are not cowed but) fight back.``
(The Holy Quran, 42:39)

To gain this freedom, Prophet Muhammad(S) said:

``Strive (Jahidu) against the disbelievers with your hands and tongues.``
(Sahih Ibn Hibban, No. 4708)
The life of the Prophet Muhammad(S) was full of striving to gain the freedom to inform and convey the message of Islam. During his stay in Makkah he used non-violent methods and after the establishment of his government in Madinah, by the permission of Allah, he used armed struggle against his enemies whenever he found it inevitable.

11. FREEING PEOPLE FROM TYRANNY:

Allah admonishes Muslims in the Qur`an:

``And why should you not fight in the cause of Allah and of those who, being weak, are ill-treated (and oppressed)? - Men, women, and children, whose cry is: `Our Lord! Rescue us from this town, whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from You, one who will protect; and raise for us from You, one who will help.```
(The Holy Quran, 4:75)
The mission of the Prophet Muhammad(S) was to free people from tyranny and exploitation by oppressive systems. Once free, individuals in the society were then free to chose Islam or not. Prophet Muhammad`s(S) successors continued in his footsteps and went to help oppressed people. For example, after the repeated call by the oppressed people of Spain to the Muslims for help, Spain was liberated by Muslim forces and the tyrant rulers removed. After the conquest of Syria and Iraq by the Muslims, the Christian population of Hims reportedly said to the Muslims:

``We like your rule and justice far better than the state of oppression and tyranny under which we have been living.``(7)
The defeated rulers of Syria were Roman Christians, and Iraq was ruled by Zoarastrian Persians.

WHAT SHOULD MUSLIMS DO WHEN THEY ARE VICTORIOUS?

Muslims should remove tyranny, treachery, bigotry, and ignorance and replace them with justice and equity. We should provide truthful knowledge and free people from the bondage of `associationism` (Shirk, or multiple gods), prejudice, superstition and mythology. Muslims remove immorality, fear, crime, exploitation and replace them with divine morality, peace and education. The Qur`an declares:

``Lo! Allah commands you that you restore deposits to their owners, and if you judge between mankind that you judge justly. Lo! It is proper that Allah admonishes you. Lo! Allah is ever Hearer, Seer.``
(The Holy Quran, 4:58)
``O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allah`s witnesses to fair dealing, and let not the hatred of others to you make you swerve to wrong and depart from justice. Be just: that is next to Piety and fear Allah. And Allah is well acquainted with all that you do.``
(The Holy Quran, 5:8)

``And of those whom We have created there is a nation who guides with the Truth and establishes justice with it.``
(The Holy Quran, 7:181)

``Lo! Allah enjoins justice and kindness, and giving to kinsfolk, and forbids lewdness and abomination and wickedness. He exhorts you in order that you may take heed.``
(The Holy Quran, 16:90)

``Those who, if We give them power in the land, establish prescribed prayers (salah) and pay the poor-due (zakah) and enjoin right conduct and forbid evil. And with Allah rests the end (and decision) of (all) affairs.``
(The Holy Quran, 22:41)

DID ISLAM SPREAD BY FORCE, SWORDS OR GUNS?

The unequivocal and emphatic answer is No! The Qur`an declares:

``Let there be no compulsion (or coercion) in the religion (Islam). The right direction is distinctly clear from error.``
(The Holy Quran, 2:256)
Here is a good study of the question of the spread of Islam by a Christian missionary, T. W. Arnold:

``...of any organized attempt to force the acceptance of Islam on the non-Muslim population, or of any systematic persecution intended to stamp out the Christian religion, we hear nothing. Had the caliphs chosen to adopt either course of action, they might have swept away Christianity as easily as Ferdinand and Isabella drove Islam out of Spain, or Louis XIV made Protestantism penal in France, or the Jews were kept out of England for 350 years. The Eastern Churches in Asia were entirely cut off from communion with the rest of Christiandom throughout which no one would have been found to lift a finger on their behalf, as heretical communions. So that the very survival of these Churches to the present day is a strong proof of the generally tolerant attitude of Mohammedan [sic] governments towards them``(8).
Islam does not teach, nor do Muslims desire, conversion of any people for fear, greed, marriage or any other form of coercion.

In conclusion, jihad in Islam is striving in the way of Allah by pen, tongue, hand, media and, if inevitable, with arms. However, jihad in Islam does not include striving for individual or national power, dominance, glory, wealth, prestige or pride.

How truthful the Holy Prophet was when he said:

“In my Ummah, 30 liars will be born. Each will claim Prophethood and claim to be a Prophet, even though I am the last Prophet and there shall be no Prophet after me.
(Abu Dawood)
According to his prophecy, many liars claiming to be the Prophet have already appeared and will keep on appearing until the last to appear will be Dajjal.

The Final Hour

Hadhrat Samurah ibn Jundab reports that the HolyProphet said in the sermon he delivered on the same day, there was a solar eclipse:

That the final hour will not come until 30 liars will appear (and claim Prophethood). The last of the liars will be the one eyed Dajjal.
(Ahmed)
These lairs began to appear at the very time of the Holy Prophet . Their aim was to create disunity among the Muslims. Some of these liars that claimed Prophethood in the past are listed below.

1. Aswad al Anasse – Claimed Prophethood whilst the Holy Prophet was still alive. The Sahâbâh killed him before the Holy Prophet passed away.
2. In the later part of the Holy Prophet life Musailama claimed Prophethood. The Holy Prophet Muhammad wrote a letter to him and named him Musailamah al Kazzab (the liar). Many Sahâbâh gave their lives in the battle of Yamaamah which took place at the time of Hadhrat Abu Bakr to kill Musailamah and his followers.
3. A woman called Sajah also claimed Prophethood and married Musailamah. However, when he was killed, she accepted Islam again.
4. Al Haarith al Kazzab claimed Prophethood in the Khilafah of Abdul Malik ibn Marwaan. He was also killed.

There have been others like Mukhtar ibn Ubaid. However, the more recent liar was Ghulam Ahmad al Qadiani.

Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani

Mirza Gulam, besides claiming to be the Mahdi, the Promised Messiah, also claimed to be the Prophet in 1901. He was born in a village called Qadian (Northern India) in 1839. His fathers name was Gulam Mustafa whilst his mothers name was Chiraagh.

Jihad and Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani

India at the time was ruled by the British. The war of independence of 1857 and the jihad (Holy War) of Sayyed Ahmed Saeed (One of our pious elders) frightened and scared the British. Because the British were facing difficulties in India they sought for an alternative to real Islam and disunite the Muslims and cool down the spirit of jihad in the Muslims. They saw that their target and aim could only be achieved if they can find somebody amongst the Indians to claim to be a prophet. The British found in Mirza what they were looking for; Mirza Ghulam sold his faith for petty worldly gains and claimed to be a prophet, the Mahdi and the promised messiah.

Read the following conditions laid down by the Prophet regarding the Mahdi and The Promised Messiah and then decide for yourself whether he was the Mahdi and the promised messiah or an impostor.

Comparison Between Mirza Gulam Ahmad and the True Mahdi

1. The Holy Prophet informed us in a Hadith which can be found in ‘Daraqutni’, for our Mahdi, there are two signs. Since the creation of the universe these events have never taken place. Those two signs are that there will be a lunar eclipse on the first night of Ramadan and a solar eclipse in the middle of Ramadan. However these signs did not precede Mirza Gulam Ahmed.
2. The Mahdi will be a descendent of the Prophet He will resemble the Holy Prophet in character and his name will be Muhammad and his father’s name will be Abdullah. The Prophet said:

“The Mahdi will appear from my progeny.”(Abu Dawûd)

3. The Prophet said:

“There will be a man from Tranxonia who will be called Haris-Harrath. There will be a man named Mansoor at his vanguard. He will give abode for the family of Muhammad (referring to the Mahdi) just as the Quraish gave abode to the Holy Prophet . (Mishkat)
This sign also did not appear before Mirza Gulam as the only people had paved the way for him was the British Government and not Haris or Mansoor. The Prophet said:

“His name will be similar to my name and his fathers name will be similar to my fathers name. (Abu Dawûd)

Mirza Gulam was not a descendant of the Holy Prophet and nor did he resemble the Prophet in character. Drinking wine, eating pork and associating with woman was Mirza`s habit. His name was Ghulam Ahmad whiles his fathers name was Ghulam Mustafa and not Abdullah as it should have been if he was the true Mahdi.

4. The Muslims will make Bai’at with the Mahdi in Makkah near the Ka’aba. The Holy Prophet said:

“Some people of Makkah will come to him (Mahdi) and will take him out though he will be unwilling. Then they will make him accept their Bai’at between the black stone and the place of Ibrahim.
(Abu Dawûd)

Nobody ever made Bai’at with Mirzah Ghulam in Makkah.

5. After Bai’at an army will be sent from Syria to fight the true Mahdi and the earth will swallow this army before it reaches him. The Prophet said:

“An army will then be sent to fight with him from Syria. The army will perish in Baydah between Makkah and Madinah
(Abu Dawûd)

No army ever came to Mirza Ghulam and thus never perished.

6. The Holy Prophet has informed us:

The true Mahdi will fill the world with justice and equality and the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth will be pleased with him
(Musnad Ahmad).
The only people pleased with Mirza Ghulam were the British. He displeased one billion Muslims by insulting our beloved Prophet by claming Prophethood and making a mockery of the Qur’ân and Hadith.

7. We have been told in many Ahâdith that the Dajjal will appear in the time of Mahdi and ‘Isa (A.S) will descend to earth to kill him. It has been over 80 years since his death, yet the Dajjal has still not emerged and nor has ‘Isa (A.S) descended.

I am sure by now you have come to the conclusion that Mirza Ghulam was not the true Mahdi; referred to in the Ahâdith.

Mirza Ghulam and the Real Messiah

We can learn from the Hadith of Nawas Bin Sam’an which can be found in Muslim Shareef (the second most authentic book after the Holy Qur’ân) and from the Hadith of Abu Ummamah Al-Bahilee which can be found in Ibn Majah, the following regarding the Promised Messiah:
1. The Promised Messiah’s name is ‘Isa (A.S) and his mothers name was Maryam.
2. The Mahdi and the Dajjal will have already appeared before his descension.
3. He will descend from the heavens to the white minaret in the east of Damascus wearing two garments slightly dyed with saffron and his hands will be placed on the wings of two Angels.
4. Every Kaafir (disbeliever) who smells his breath will die and his breath will reach as far as he can see.
5. He will kill the Dajjal at the Eastern gate of Ludd.
6. The barbarious tribe of Gog Magog will appear in his time and the promised Massiah will take the believers to mount Tur for their protection.
7. He will elevate the Islamic religion by breaking the cross and putting an end to Christianity.
8. The Jews and Christians will believe on him before his death.
9. He will kill the pigs and the Christians consider Halal it to eat and non-Muslims will not have to pay tax.
10. Wars will cease at his time, as everybody will be in complete agreement with one another.
11. There will be so much wealth that the receiving of Sadaqa will be discarded as everybody will have enough wealth of his own.
12. In his time, all harmful animals will be made harmless and the venom will be taken out from all venomous animals. A child will put his hand in a snake’s mouth and it will not harm him, a girl will be able to chase a lion away and it will not harm her.
13. The earth will spout with vegetation and will produce fruits so abundantly that a large group of people will gather to eat a bunch of grapes or one pomegranate, and it will suffice them.
14. From the Hadith of Abu Hurairah in Muslim, we learn that the promised Messiah will perform Hajj and Umrah from a place called Rawha.
15. From the Hadith of Abdullah Bin Amr we learn that he will get buried next to the Holy Prophet ?.

None of the above conditions were fulfilled by Mirza Ghulam. His name was Ghulam Ahmad and not ‘Isa, he was the son of Chiragh and not Maryam. The Mahdi and the Dajjal did not appear before him and thus there is no question in him killing Dajjal. He did not descend from the heavens nor did any Kaafir die from his breath.

The tribes of Gog Magog did not appear in his time nor did the Jews and Christians believe in him before his death. He did not elevate Islam but insulted it by claming to be the Mahdi, the Messiah and a Prophet. He didn’t kill the pigs but enjoyed eating it. Wars did not cease in his time as the Muslims were making Jihad with the British in India. The receiving of Sadqah was not discarded nor was venom taken out of venomous animals in his time. He never performed Hajj or Umrah and died in a toilet.

I am sure by now you have easily come to the conclusion that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad was not the promised Messiah the Mahdi or a Prophet, but was an impostor and a liar. His aim and purpose in life was to keep the British happy, those who made him and nourished him with evil ideas to confuse and disunite the Muslims.

My post was just a ``Joker`` thrown in this debate between the believers & non-believers.

Personally, I get completely put off by the Niqab or Burqa-clad women; and avoid, or never get into a conversation with them. I feel unable to trust any one whom I can not see or with whom I can not communicate at equal footing.

I could sense the ``joker`` in your last post ``complaining women staring men`` which rarely happens. But this time you have made a point which is the climax of this ``debate``.

{I get completely put off by the Niqab or Burqa-clad women; and avoid, or never get into a conversation with them.}

This is the sole purpose of Hijab and this is the desired result.

I would like to weigh your honest statement in gold and diamonds. You made my day.

Re 164 and 163

One has got to see this nonsense to believe it. On the threshhold of th 21st century this dude is talking about permissibility of Olympic wardrobe and inter-gender sports. No wonder that the great Kemal Ataturk had so little patience with such kind of patent anti-freedom, anti-social, abnormally obsessive people. People die of hunger, women are killed in the name of honor, Saddam buries 300,000 in mass graves and all that Islamist apologists can talk about is dress code. No wonder Islam is viewed so negatively in America.

Where is Islam being practiced in the world today? In Pakistan? Where honor killing has no check? In Iraq? Where Saddam did with Shias what Hitler (european christian) did with Jews but Saddam had disguised blessing of senior Bush who asked Shias to revolt and then left them at the mercy of Saddam. The hunger in the world is due to Jewish Economic Order of exploitation in the name of GATT, WTO, GM food and you name it.

The ONLY SOLUTION is true enfocement of Islam which stopped the live burial of girls and where the Ruler sitting in Medina is fearing guilty if a dog is found hungry on the banks of River dajla in Iraq.

Rational Faith

Islam is such a powerful message that if practiced in a true sense, it is blessing for all. It is a cure of all our social, economic and political ills.

But there should be ``A Islamic Country`` which practice it in its true spirit and the show the world its benefits and results. There needs to be a Role Model to show the world. Otherwise people will be always mistaken by Saudi Arabia`s monarchy evils or Pakistan`s lip-service Islam as Islam and run away from it.

We the Muslims of Today are the real hindrance in delivering The Real Message to the world. People think Saddam or Osama as heroes of Islam where they are the real Villians of Islam.

- Regarding jihad, Mirza Sahib’s view was that … the pre-requisites for (fighting) jihad mentioned in Quran did not exist … and therefore there were no valid grounds for jihad. It seems that there was a great deal of ambivalence among Muslim leaders on the issue of jihad against the British … but our mullah’s fail to mention this … as they condemn Ahmadis for abstaining from fighting in the name of Islam.

- The transcripts of the Ahmadi hearing of 1974 have not been made public by the govt. of Pakistan. Ever wondered why? The verdict against Ahmadis was cheered by the same scholars of Islam who do not tire of issuing inter-sectarian fatwas of kuffr … and continue to incite their followers to violence in the name of Islam. It is unfortunate that the ummah continues to be led by these ullema … who also tell us that a prophet has been residing above the clouds for two thousand years … who will one day descend to earth on the shoulders of two angels … and will kill the one-eyed monster dajjal who will be riding a giant, fire-breathing donkey. And you have a problem with Ahmadis … go figure.

ANEW WINS HANDS DOWN!

After 178 posts, results of the great ijtihad among the educated and the intellectuals are out in the open for all to see and admire.

Anew, anybody who claims that you have not comprehensively routed the apologists must be dumb as a doorbell.

You knowledge of Islam is comprehensive. Only Naqsbandi can hold a candle to you. As a devout Muslim, your brave attempts to defend the pure message of Islam are expected. Allah will know where to send these so-called Muslims. They have nothing of Islam in them. They desperately dilute and distort the victorious message of Islam. Let`s face it. These apologists and distorters make ridiculous and laugable interpretations of God`s crystal clear messages only because they have to live with kaffirs as minorities. No Kaffir can be a Muslim`s true friend when it comes to matters relating to Islam.

Congratulations on your overwhelming victory in defending Islam from the ignorant and the deliberately blind.

It was also a pleasure to see that women kept their silence. Issues like polygamy are weighty matters. Women`s emotional weakness and intellectual disadvantages in dealing with abstract topics (as opposed to the matters of running households for their husbands) could easily sidetrack the discussion into unproductive avenues. So congratulations must also go to Muslim women. They are on the right path. As they have always been. After all, didn`t Islam bring more rights to women than any system ever has or ever will. Islam is wise enough to teach proper lessons to women from their childhood. So they know when to speak up against Kafirs and when to keep quiet in defense of Islam.

In the history of Islam, only people and scholars like you have ever won out. That is the nature of the great message of Islam. No amount of fibbing will ever change it. It`s a joy to see that a new generation of true Muslims is rising once again to establish the pure message of Allah, but you mustn`t flag in your attempts.

Today Islam is seriously threatend by insidious messages of Kaffirs. Islamic boys and girls learn impure and nonislamic thoughts from these kaffirs. Even Ahmedias claim to be Muslims!!

So your responsibility is very heavy. But if history is any guide, you will win hands down, everytime, as you did this time.

cipram #161 thanks for affirming the point i made about the mullah trying to use hadith (as anew does here) to control muslim society (an authority explicity denied to the prophet himself!). this is the depth of hypocrisy that their lust for control and power has driven the mullah. and anew is a perfect example of the hypocritical mullah - he has cleverly avoided addressing specific points brought up various chowk posters (including myself, where i pointed out the fact that the Quranic verses he quotes do not in fact support what he says). i admit to losing my temper in one post with anew (as wajahat notes), but the hypocrisy of this man is beyond belief. and i think we should start taking the mullah threat to pakistan seriously - if they had their way, every voice would be silenced, and what the mullah says would be treated as being God`s voice.

i was initially skeptical about the Quran (assuming it reflected the nonsense of the mullah) until i read it carefully (at my late father`s suggestion). and indeed it was refreshing to see that it makes perfectly good sense. what rang particularly true in the Quran was the number of places it placed limits upon the role of the holy prophet himself in muslim society (i.e. that he is but a warner, and implementation is not his concern) and the clear responsibility it places on the individual to trust his or her eyes and judgement and not follow the bidding of other men (including one`s parents themselves with whom the Quran enjoins the muslim to respectfully disagree while retaining their love for them!

All of the above is a totally different religion than the one that the mullah expounds (and anew is a perfect case of the hypocritical mullah). The Quran uplifts the individual and gives the individual faith in his own God-given ability to tell right from wrong - the mullah suppresses it by trying to dictate every bit of the individual`s life. The Quran says all individuals are equal before God, the mullah says that his word is what God really meant. We must not treat the mullah as a fool (he is very clever) nor as a pious man (he is the most wicked and hypocritical man on earth - the kind the Quran warns all muslims about). Carefully follow the interaction of anew on this board and you will see this illustrated.

anew,

........ other than abdus salaam the only muslims who have accomplished anything worthwhile in the last 500 years are the long distance runners from algeria, morocco and tunisia ........specially the women ........... now, i don`t know if you have run a mile or more, but take my word for it - it is not possible to run a 1500m or 26.2 miles in anything close to what you would consider to be islamic garb ............many of these wonderful women who have won gold medals in the olympics and won many major marathons (like hassiba boulmerka of algeria and nawal moutawakil of tunisia) have been threatened by islamic goons intent on establishing the tyranny of their god ................now these women live in fear of their lives ...........

....... did you see monaziz of morocco win the ny marathon this year?........... it was awe inspiring and there was no way he could have run it in ``nickers`` below his knees and without women spectators cheering him on ..............for those of us who know how hard it is to run even 10K it was more awe inspiring than any ayah in the koran ................and because of people of your ilk a number of these exceptional people have left for sicily, france, spain and the us ..... some of the greatest runners of all time like hicham el guerrey and khalid khannouchi now run with the stars and srtipes emblazoned on their unislamic shorts .................. i know allah does not care, but what do you think?
