yogiraj #132 Your question is a good one. Your answer is illustreated by chwaqas`s post, where he drowns out the Quranic injunctions with hadith. The Quran calls for men to lower their gaze rather than look in a lustful manner at strange women, Chwaqas calls for men to tease women who arouse their lusts. One is a message of decency, the other is the message of mischief wrapped in robes self-righteousness.
In other words, ``muslims`` like chwaqas replaced the message of islam (which indeed was an enlightened and uplifting one) with a message that fitted better with their own primiteve mindsets.
And yes sir, you may consider me your friend. My problem is only with those who would, in any just society, be sitting behind bars in any case (i.e. those who condone mindsets that have resulted in real people being murdered in cold blood).

tahmed32 - Since you are too busy calling everyone else on this board ``dumb``, ``pea brain`` or ``half brain`` etc etc, let me give you a sincere piece of advice. First of all, when you start attacking a person instead of his idea, your voice begins to resemble that of a donkey`s fart. Secondly, you liberally use the phrase ``hijacking of Islam``, which as all of us know was first used by Bush. When you start repeating the mantra verbatim from your western masters, you lose the ability to have original thoughts. When a human loses this ability, he is nothing more than a monkey who mimics his master.
I can perhaps rationalize the rants of an illiterate mullah in Pakistan. But from a person like you who is lecturing all of us how to reform Islam, you need to reform the way you communicate. This illiterate way of communicating is exactly what has brought muslims to where they are.

`......I know of those values more than you do. I have faced baton charges for those values and my ribcage still hurts in michigan cold....`
Interesting! Could you provide some detail as to what you were protesting and who was weilding the banton.

What did the Sikhs do to you to invoke such malice.
Are you by any chance an outcome of the 1947 riots.

Has anyone else noticed how Urstruly and Echoboom have formed a neat little
mutual admiration society ? They are almost finishing each other`s sentences.
Just an observation...

Thanks for post, if there were more muslims who dares to say that islam is as goo as any other religion, the world would be a much better place.

cipram #95 I agree fully with you. We the ordinary muslims have to stand up against not just the animals who attack muslims (physically when they can, verbally when they cannot), but also the animals who claim to be muslim but in fact have hijacked our religion by trying to paper over the peaceful and wise message of the Quran and to replace it with their own evil mindsets.
Fortunately, we have truth on our side, and truth always wins in the end. It is time we the ordinary muslims started speaking our mind. ``
Buddy, if I can call you one. I ask you same question, I asked before.
Here it goes.
Hundreds of year back there was a person. He worked as an employee in Saudi Arabia. His boss was a woman. She owned the business.
He had no ego to be employee of a woman boss. He actually won her heart. The employer was so impressed, she married the guy. As far as I know, they lived happily until she died.
Now the question.
What happened after that? EH?

``as far as the protests in the Muslim world are concerned, it’s more of a solidarity thing.``
_digit #107
``Here we go with that Muslim world bit again...a few hundred protestors constitute the Muslim world?``
You ARE going in circles.
``I don`t think EITHER of those governments gives a rats arse about Muslim opinion... ``
The question was `if protests are a poor gauge, what is the proper gauge of Muslim opinion?`
``However, not in the way you and your ilk are trying to spin it.``
Ah another eternal victim.
``..there is NO mass Muslim duplicity... ``
How do you know? You cannot even answer a simple question about what is a proper gauge of what Muslims think.

Good repartee. But your satirical tone could possibly be misread.
Chwaqas, on the other hand, over-simplified the whole concept.

while mr tarek talks of double standards, his acitons need to be analysed too. he joins a protest with his ``fellow muslims`` to oppose the french ban and then during that protest he asks his ``fellow muslims`` to stage protest against saudi arabia and iran. i would suggest that mr tareq was not there to join his ``fellow muslims`` but to divide his ``fellow muslims``.
while i do think that he raises an interesting point but the moment he chose to bring it up was most inappropriate. it was divisive to the issue for which folks were out there in freezing temperature.

#116: Thank you for letting the readers know how a hooligan will react on seeing two females(Good Lord, not some ordinary females but extra-ordinary ones) ? It seems that you have conducted a survey on the prevalent trends amongst hooligans & their natural leanings.
I am amazed to find how well planned and well organized the hooligans of today are. In fact, they are pretty damn shrewd. I wished the Muslim World had more hooligans with the highlighted attributes - shrewd, well planned and well organized. There would have been less chaos. !

chwaqas #116 You ignore the fact that by teasing a woman REGARDLESS of how she chooses to dress, a man is violating the Quran, and presenting the standard mullah argument (``If she was raped, it was because she dressed provocatively``.). Is it islamic behavior to ridicule and tease a woman because you dont approve of her dress?
As I said, the time for arguments with you kafirs who have hijacked islam is over. You are all hypocrites and understand only one language - a good thrashing. And rest assured that is what you are going to get more and more of in future as more and more people inside pakistan as well as in other countries see the true face of the mullah : which is the face of the followers of iblis.

jay #53 i am beginning to think that you are so dumb that you actually believe what you write. That is, you write to me: ``Are you ready to post that ``budhism is as good as islam``.
Yes, you half-brain. Here it is:
budhism is as good as islam.
Dont ever waste my time with this dumb claim of yours. Let me add this as well: and hinduism, and judaism, and every other religion.
YOu continue: ``You will not post the above quote either because of the blasphemy laws, or it is against your very beliefs. ``
Read the Quran and you will find for yourself that respect for all religions is central to be beliefs. REad my posts for the last three years on chowk and you will find that I have always stood up against those who ridicule hindus or muslims or any other religious or national community. For muslims, I have reminded them that they are violating the Quran when they ridicule other religions or pretend that being a muslim means something special.
YOur mind is hardwired to be hateful. THat is your problem.
