Hence proven that we are not bad people...and if there are bad people...they are then everywhere. in mecca, vetican, jerusalem and banaras...they are everywhere AND so are good people.
isnt it more beautiful to bond on the goodness then fight on ``badness?``

Over the last year or so, I have been regularly putting across to some interacters ( Jay, Gajjubania for instance) that an average Pakistani does not harbour any hatred towards India.
He is too busy with his own life and its problems. If anything, he has a soft corner for India.
However, some Pakistani Politicians, Generals & news paper headlines did and do convey a different picture & a different image of the country.
I am relieved that my assessment has been vindicated and some dust removed.

`Lahore bhool jao ge. . .`
oye badmaash!!! those are fighting words! khair. . .since this is about love and kirkat, and all that, hum tumhen m`aaf kar dete hain. besides i already know that if i were to visit karachi (a feat i have yet to do in this lifetime), i would remember lahore just as much. really ; )
love, kirkat and all that,
n~
(once a lahori always a lahori!)
p. s. as for the names of the roads not being changed as deepak says, wasn`t there a change at some point to names that were so long and difficult to remember that we still stick to davis, nisbet, beadon etcetera, or is that my imagination?

Don`t listen to Aamir Ansari. Karachi is nothing compared to Lahore. ;)

oh but in the eyes of some, Lahore is just a backwater provincial capital next to Karachi. ;D.
am glad that deepak and his wife got to see the houses where his parents were born, and was able to make connections, both human, and material (the houses). one can only hope that such visits, such warm hospitality will continue beyond the cricket match (i don`t even consider my indian friends` `hum jeet gaye` as taane anymore. at some point, when i knew that pakistan was not going to win, one of my indian yaars was talking about how first-class the match in pindi was going, and i said `yes! very good!` and he said, `oye, india jeet raha hai.` and i said, `i know. am happy for you.` thank god the kirkat madness has subsided for now)

Deepak,
You lucky guy you..that you went!
I have not much love for the game but would have wandred round the country, taking in all the sights. Will surely do one day.
You know something, isn`t this far better than India Shining? This is the entire Subcontinent shining!
Let`s please not forget these moments - no matter what politicians from either side tell us henceforth.
Just imagine, instead of spending the billions on nukes, we build more bridges and roads, both physically and otherwise!
Insh`allah.
Sucheta
