She must have been something, if she was your friend. (Having seen your wonderful sense of humor on unplugged). May her soul rest in peace.
Any death is a sad occassion, and the death of a young person with his or life ahead is particularly so. I am reminded of a young doctor from Pakistan who died of cancer in St. Louis. He had just completed his residency and had his whole life ahead of him. The last I talked to him over the phone, he was in a hospital in St. Louis after being diagnosed with cancer, and he told me that the hospital staff had just transferred him to a room a couple of stories above his previous room. He then jokingly added ``I guess they have moved me up a couple of floors in order to shorten the distance I would have to travel to get to God.`` I still cant believe the courage and humor with which that friend faced his death. Two weeks later I was attending his funeral.

R,
Don`t know what to say except that
the greatest loss has been her son`s.

Im too sad to comment...it was not her own death that makes it piognant, its the story of her life..her dead parents, her loneliness may be....the untold story of her grief, the undertone of this background, NY, new mexico, houston...so many new places but,.. Ammee and Abbu!...sigh!.....why do people have to die?

Rakapo$h,
There is not much one can say at a time such as this, but I would like you to know that you have my sincere sympathy in your bereavement. Please accept my heart felt condolence and count me among those who share your sorrow at this sad time. I pray to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in peace and give strength to the grieved family and friends to bear this irreparable loss. Amen

It is a heartbreaking tragedy, written straight from the heart. I read this last evening, and it kept me awake till late, bringing back the memories of similar tragedies – wonderful friends, brilliant full of life young people, lost to the bitter reality of death. The heaviness never leaves one’s heart.

You make us laugh on Unplugged and you brought tears to my eyes on this eulogy. You have very powerful expression of the real life events. I am also very happy to know you as a very sincere and caring friend of good times and bad times.
You being a doctor yourself, please tell us more about fulminant hepatic failure and brain damage due to delayed liver transplant. How does it affect brain?
