It gasps in the middle. And luckily the cockroach is dead again... Damn it.

Not sure if you`ve read The Pilots Wife by Anita Shreve, your piece seems like an uncomplete version of her story.

Thanks for reading the story through and I am sorry you dont seem to like it.
The situation in my mind, at least, is not an ordinary one. It is a dramatic/poignant situation for a recent widow, to discover that her husband was planning to leave her for another woman. More so as she was under the impression that things were fine in her marriage.
Which means that I as a writer wasnt able to make the story `extra ordinary`. My failure, in that case!
Hopefully, you will like some the other stories I have in mind to try and publish on chowk8
Thanks and best regards,
Sucheta

Thanks for your warm words. As I had mentioned to T, you are the one who had suggested the ending. People seem to like the ending - so the credit for that goes to you.
Thanks lady and love

Sucheta,
Love is such a bitch, isn`t it? Whatever you may do, not do, there`s heartache.
Women can never seem to get it right, and other women do them in!
Good story, details ring true, maybe more abt food....that seems to be a strong factor in domestic drudgery, the worrying abt food, the preparation , the actual cooking, then the clearing up...adds years to women`s lives!
Keep writing, strong talent.
love, R.

Sucheta, a little bit on the ordinary side.Too lucid conventional predictable for me. You know, you seemed to be touching on topics that more often than not, have been left out of literature .Not this time.Even the treatment is predictable.

``Damn you Sudin. Damn you for doing this to me. But you know what? I am glad you died. Glad you died when you were still married to me. No matter what you were planning, at least outwardly, I won’t be a laughing stock.``
I`m glad too. A betrayal punished him and killed him before he killed it.
I like the ending too!
Nice work :)

…long …long short story…(to be read on the monitor)…you pulled an o’henry in the end:)…felt the estrangement could be developed more…rather than the allusions hinted at…also…there are a few typos…that mar a good read…thud! thud!…
…over all enjoyed it ..specially the ending…
