The picture you posted is that of a group of school girls who probably have not even reached puberty.

I have seen a 5 year old girl with a full burqa in Karachi.

Muslim girls before they reach puberty are often spoiled by their fathers and houshold because they know the trials and tribulations awaiting them in adult life. They are treated like the ``darker`` members of the family are treated : they are spoiled rotten because they know what society is going to do to these people. This is not love but a mere advance payment and a mere compensation for the tyranny and the cruelty ahead.

This is almost like ``I don`t really love you but I will hug you and let you be a boy for a few years and even let you jump into my lap because I know that your husband is going to beat you to death and your Islamic society is going to push you down and walk all over you and they will veil you and cause you to shudder in the presance of men and they will cause you to hate men so take as much as you can , while you can``.

The Veil : It is Sick

When victims of sexual assault or molestation are asked ``Whose fault it was?`` they often blame themselves. There are Muslim women who are justifying Hijab and the Veil because some Muslim men around them are uncivilized brutes and animals. There is no question about this that rampant physical,sexual and psychological abuse is the hallmark of most Islamic households.

My own personal experience as a young boy reminds me of the days I spent praying to Allah that he make me ugly and therefore unappealing to the men at the mosques and the men in the streets, the women and boys who claimed to be my relatives. As you can see from that photograph someone posted my prayers have been answered (somewhat).

However blaming ones own self is sick and wearing the veil because of that is even worse. It is not your fault that you are harassed it is the fault of the disturbed Muslims men and women

Hijab/Veil is Fashionable Hence Excusable

Respondents have pointed out that the Hijab and the Veil are blameless because some Muslim women are willing to adorn them.

Adorning your chains does not justify slavery. Decorating the slave quarters does not excuse segregation neither do palatial Harems excuse Harems.

The veil and segregation of the sexes that Muslims have to learn to abolish because here in the West we will get around to it sooner than later and then you will be whining ``persecution`` and ``discrimination``.

Hijab is something we can worry when we want all hi-fi things. Let women get the right to ride a scooter to work first.

For the life of me I fail to understand what this fuss is all about. The hijab has been misused by Muslim society for ages to oppress and subjugate women. As simple as that. If the decision to wear it is voluntary, no one would argue against it, but the fact is that a majority of Muslim women are forced to wear it. That is the crux of the matter. Very few women who wear the hijab have voluntarily veiled themselves. A ban on the hijab, IMHO would be less of a problem for the voluntarily veiled than on those forced to wear it. And there`s a overwhelming majority of the latter. That is what matters most.

And fighting sexual harassment by resorting to the veil is probably the weakest form of fightback. Striving for a society that respects women is a better way, I think.

it`s not my mind that`s closed. since bigots aren`t my type anyway, i suggest you don`t worry about what i open or close.

EVERY person has his own temperament and his own approach; he has his own priorities and natural inclinations; it’s not necessary that everyone should feel the same way. Ever since I have read this report and seen the torn and dead remains, and the faces of those tiny newborns, I have a peculiar feeling inside me. Their picture does not leave my eyes. A question relentlessly goes round and round my mind: have we really become so vacuous, so low, so heartless, and so wicked that we fail to have the least pity for tiny, innocent lives? Are we really so powerless at the hands of momentary pleasures and fleeting gratification that we have lost all sense? Neither Allah’s commands nor the teachings of the Prophet sallallahu ‘alaihi wassallam, or the family’s honor, or moral constraints and principles, or conscience, or humanity stop us?

This report is in context of an organization that buries unclaimed bodies and picks up babies still alive but abandoned by their immoral mothers who wish to veil their sin by throwing their babies on heaps of rubbish, sewerages, backstreets, empty parks, and in those cribs that have specially been provided for the purpose.

90 percent of these babies are killed before being thrown away. Some are torn from limb to limb, some are burnt, some have the life squeezed out of them, and some of those that are abandoned are bitten and gnawed to death by stray cats and dogs, while some cannot endure the hunger, weakness or rigors of weather. Some mothers leave behind their babies on the benches of hospitals they were born in or tell the nurses to take them and give them away to anyone they like.
80 percent of the abandoned babies are female which shows that couples too prefer sons and daughters are left to die. The ultrasound has made it easier now to know before the birth whether a baby is male or female. A lot of unborn females never see daylight. It has been discovered that 600 such babies are found annually in the country, out of which 100 are alive and 500 dead. What becomes of these children? Where do they go? This is a different discussion.

Anyway, this report is enough to open our eyes. It shows the degeneration, low morals, heartlessness of the society, and the propagation of immodesty. This degeneration and lowliness has not befallen us suddenly. Multinational companies, filmmakers, the actors and actresses dominating the media, and we ourselves have worked at it for years. It has taken billions of Rupees and tens of thousands of minds to get us there. When nudity and obscenity rule, when the roads are overflowing with naked splendor, when the papers and magazines are filled with semi-bare, nay, bare pictures; the TV is rife with arousing scenes; films and dramas are fanning dormant desires; when schools, colleges, homes, and streets are festooned with the mixing of sexes; when sharai pardah is cast off as a remnant of backwardness; when adopting the cursed western styles becomes all the rage; when tying the knot is made an arduous procedure with the tough walls of dowry, standard, and traditions and custom to scale; when the yardstick for a proposal becomes not a good character but riches, cars, and bungalows; yes! When all is done to fan and heighten the flames of desire and then all possible actions taken to impede legal courses of action…………in that case we will just have to witness such horrifying and chilling sights. We will just have to pick half-burned, torn, twisted, and bewailing bodies from rubbish heaps, sewerages, backstreets, empty parks and dismal lanes. Even animals cannot equal such savagery that a deluded “single mother” metes out to her baby.

You must have seen the common enough sight of a sick, hungry dog offering her pups the last drops of life and nourishment in her body, who will jump at any threat, however great, to her babies. But who are these people who have made the “woman of the east” first shameless and then so hard hearted that no family value, no code of behavior, no religious law, no stab of the conscience stops her from treading the path of sin. In the days of Ignorance it was the man who squeezed the life out of his daughter, but today, in our society it has become the mother who dumps the life of her life, the life nourished with her own `blood to the mercy of buzzing flies, poisonous insects, hungry alley cats, and brutal, ravenous dogs. If the clandestine meetings that stripped her shame and honor was one sin, then this is the next: of murdering an innocent life.

You may remember when one woman of the days of the Prophet sallallahu ‘alaihi wassallam was guilty of such a sin and she was restless with the thought of her indiscretion. She came to the blessed Prophet sallallahu ‘alaihi wassallam to ask him to impose the had (Islamic law) on her and thus purge her of her sin. RasulAllah sallallahu ‘alaihi wassallam had answered,

“You have sinned, but what fault is it of the innocent life growing in your womb? What should I punish him for?”

She went away but came back after the baby was born and repeated her request. He sallallahu ‘alaihi wassallam argued that if she were gone, who would bring up her child? Then she came when she had weaned the child and it held a piece of bread in its hand. She said, “Ya RasulAllah! Now he is weaned of milk.” After that she was punished for her transgression.

To kill an illegitimate child is undoubtedly murder. But the question is how to prevent such murders? By adding to the number of cribs? By validating illegal births? By encouraging the unmarried parents to carry on with their heads up in society? No! Certainly not! We will have to find a solution not with the glasses of the west but under light of the Islamic Laws. We will have to rein in those papers, magazines and journals that have made woman’s body, her beauty, her bareness, and obscenity the means to further their circulation. Our papers and magazines consider it their loyal duty to highlight any obscenity anywhere in the world or any scandal of actors or actresses or sportsmen. We will have to ban those films and dramas that have nothing but violence, romance, and abductions in them. We will have to keep an eye on those mixed gatherings, educational institutions, and clubs where the germs of indulgence nourish and seeds of sin take root. Unless we make marriage a lot easier it will be impossible to stop illegitimate relations. No one will be able to stop the advance of unlawful means of fulfilling natural desires when lawful means will be held back.

You have argued that we should not generalize and that all women who wear the hijab or the veil are not a symbol of absolute subjugation in dire need of rescue. I have no problem with this argument. But I don’t believe that all women who take the hijab, do so on their own free will.

please god made the hormones so that men would go after women, although at times its sheer insanity. if mens minds won over their hormones, women will be far more lonely (see i am not saying they are not lonely now ;-) )

Symbolic Gestures Is Of No Consquence

The utility of a PHD is anulled or diminished if the woman is subjugated to the institution of veiling.

Utility of the right to vote is of little use if the vote is given to the likes of Khomenei or some Mullah who holds your reigns.

You can wear a skirt underneath that veil but it makes little difference to the fact that these veiled women are paying obeisance to the institution of slavery.

BTW wearing skirts or lingerie is not a measure of liberty but wearing a veil is a measure of your servitude.

Wearing APPROPRIATE clothing when the occassion calls for it is a measure of mental stability. Wearing unnecessary layers of clothing and face masks is a symbol of servitude, it is unnatural and it is criminal and it is compliance with the tyranny of Islamic fundamentalism.

The fact that some woman is driving a Mercedez means little for women or Muslims if the woman is wearing a veil.

It means little if Benazir comes to power in Pakistan when she is abused in front of her feudal lord of a husband and used by the men in her family to run Islamic Pakistan into the ground. Symbolic gestures and using western vocabulary to make excuses for veils does NOT excuse veiling.

Are muslim women reliable allies of the west`s? Despite emanicpating them from the darkness Muslim women came from these same women often betray the cause of their own kind , their own gender and the cause of liberty by attacking the west in return.

These ``emancipated`` creatures are so thoroughly ridden by the darkness that instead of showing gratitude to the west and instead of upholding liberty they attack the west and begin to present excuses for the fanatics and the fundamentalist. Take Fatima Mernissi, she berates the west and then goes onto say that the West learned about freedom from Islam (not the other way around). This is Islam the same religion that literally means submission. Is it not laughable?

Have you seen ONE SINGLE Muslim woman ever speak kindly of the west? Have you ever seen one SINGLE Muslim woman say anything nice towards the people who risk their lives so Muslim women may get a western, secular education? Have you seen a SINGLE Muslim woman ever praise the very liberators who shed blood for them? Ingrates

Would it not be better if we withdraw all support for liberal causes in the Islamic world and watch them rot on their own dogmatic poison? Sometimes I wonder if the west might pull all its support and aid and stop intervening so these cave people never use the right to vote as an excuse to establish tyranny and the likes of Mullah Omar.

When the west requests that the Islamic people have fair democratic processes these people say ``but we don`t have enough nukes to establish fair democratic process`` What do nukes have to do with democracies ?

When the west requests that slavery be abolished these poeple retort ``but we live in a desert we are poor give us your luxury cars and we will abolish slavery`` What does a Merc have to do with slavery?

When the west urges them to grant freedom of press and expression to their persecuted writers and artists they respond ``But we are starving give us your Levis & Rolexes and we will think about it``. What do tanks or nukes or a UN seat have anything to do with freedom of expression or speech?

The ISLAMIC world has milked the west for way too long and deceived us for too long and used and abused our generosity for way too long.

How do I know about the hypocrisy and the lies and the diversions and the indecency? because I can read your minds and I am so sorry I have this ability. I am one of you and I cannot bare the immorality of the ways you indulge in, all in the name of god.

Then whats with the attention hungry veiled Muslimas women who derive their ``social`` worth from chat rooms and IRC and the santized ``veil`` of the internet? They would rather email or talk on the phone rather than go see an opera or hold hands and walk in the park.

And what interaction is this ``internet`` interaction with the Muslim woman! they abuse us and employ their twisted minds to tricks us and instead of integrity they show us a side that makes you want to lose faith in humanity. If the Islamist Male is a mindblowing insult to mankind the creature that is the fanatical Muslim woman must have been created to render humanity extinct.

Then you wonder why the Muslim male runs to the west looking for love amongst other races? The poor Muslim male who runs for kindness towards other races is called a racist. There is no escape is there?

As I said when all the worthy men have abandoned Islamic Pakistan you can look around and you will find the eager grin of the Taliban looking to take on a 4th wife or concubine you may take consolation that though you may be abused and the 4th wife and veiled atleast you are not committing a sin against Allah.

Is it any wonder that when Muslims obey this Allah the world has come to recognize it as a criminal act.
