All those who have enlisted voluntarily to speak for the criminal jehadis must first see this :

Ballukhan #6,

Allow me to answer your points one by one:

1) People who support these criminal terrorists over the anonymity of the net are accomplices:
I didn`t support them, if you read the article you will see that I said that beheadings of innocent civilians is a terrorist act. I didn`t feel like elucidating that fact because I thought it was a given, if you can`t understand that then it`s you who has a twisted world-view, not me. Furthermore, I am not hiding behind anonymity, see my profile, my full name is given in my posts and my article, if anyone is hiding behind anonymity it`s you.

2) People who justify their acts of hatred on the basis of religion will burn in hell:
Nowhere in my article has there been mention of whether or not Islam justifies these actions or not, though I am no scholar I assume that it doesn`t. Therefore, it is you, not I, who is bringing religion into this discussion. I did not even try to JUSTIFY the acts, read carefully and you will find that the article is concerned primarily with media coverage and perceptions. Furthermore, I believe that it is up to God to decide who burns in hell and who does not, your proclamations to the contrary hold no weight. My religious sentiment is a matter between my God and me, so is my fate in the afterlife.

Regards,
Irfan.

The answer to whether the media should cover the war crisis is a resounding yes, if you look at it from the media`s point of view. Most of the media organizations are for profit organizations with millions of people on their payroll. With the raging global competition for air time, no one wants to be left out from catching the weary attention of over exposed brains with a clicker in their hands;especially when they are also paying for the war, the air time, and the clicker. Now, whether this is right or wrong, morally, is another question.

``The Bushies` campaign pitch follows their usual backward logic: Because we have failed to make you safe, you should re-elect us to make you safer.

Because we haven`t caught Osama in three years, you need us to catch Osama in the next four years.

Because we didn`t bother to secure explosives in Iraq, you can count on us to make sure those explosives aren`t used against you.``(Maureen Dowd in NYT)

Some people thought the October surprise would be the president producing Osama.
Instead, it was Osama producing yet another video taunting the president .....(Maureen Dowd)

...as to what an incompetent nincompoop the president is -- thrashing an innocent people who had nothing to do with the killing of 3000 Americans on 9/11 -- while `allowing` the lunatic who did it -- good health, good food and a safe lectern -- to encourage the American people to .................RE ELECT THEIR STUPID MORON....for another Four More Years of MURDER and MAYHEM....

Something VERY interesting....

An excerpt from an interview with George Friedman, director of Stratfor, author of America`s Secret Wars:

Q:What happens next?
A. Al Qaeda has got to try to get some points on the board. If it doesn`t, its credibility in the Islamic world will dissipate. If it can, it will attack. The United States is now engaged in a global counter-offensive designed to block them. It`s not clear what will happen. In addition, Al Qaeda will try to bring down Saudi Arabia.
Q. What will the United States do?
A. It will play defense against Al Qaeda in the United States and Saudi Arabia. It will threaten Iran with war if Iran aids Al Qaeda. Most important, the United States will have to invade northwestern Pakistan. There are plans for this already. In addition, if Pakistan collapses due to an invasion, the United States and India will have to jointly occupy Pakistan. The end game is in Pakistan.
Q. Why are we going into Pakistan?
A. Stratfor said in December 2003 that the campaign is being planned. In February 2004 a spokesman for the Pentagon said they were going in to Pakistan. Since then we have been carrying out small scale incursions for months. The war cannot end until the command cell of Al Qaeda is destroyed and that is located in Northwestern Pakistan, but it has been delayed by manpower shortages.

Great Article.
I think your comment on coverage of war and the coverage of the kidnappings being a hyprocisy can be challenged, because the sight of British and American Troops on televison has never bought enthusiam or much influence to the public of their countries to follow in their steps, but on the other hand the hatred and viciousness protrayed in the kidnappings and then murders not only is shameful for us muslims but also is producing more hatred and despicable behaviour by the people of the Western countries.
To put a stop to the deteriorating situation in Iraq, maybe the Muslims dont have the solution but they can stop from making matters worse which is losing them supporters aswell.
NO i dont like America for what it is doing in Iraq..but i also do NOT support terrorists killing innocents publicily.. Americans did punish the soldiers responsible for abusing the prisoners..maybe even just to prove they are fair when the pictures were exposed in the media...So we should atleast condemn our Iraqi brothers action, for it is wrong to kill innocents....The people of Iraq arent bothered with a death of a journalists or charity worker it does not make them happy ,but food and peace would.

``.....if the media can show foolish 18 year olds blasting death metal music over their tank`s speakers to pump themselves up before going into a city, then the media must show the plight of these hostages. Anything else reeks of hypocrisy. .....``

``....But lets call a spade a spade, for the beheadings ARE a terrorist act, because they instill fear in people. What, then, may I ask is the presence of US soldiers on Iraqi soil? I`m sure an American soldier carrying an M16 instills fear in Iraqis, the recent bombings of Fallujah probably terrorised the civilian populace of that town to death (some of them literally).... ``

``.. The devastation of the infrastructure requires that it be rebuilt, but the foreign specialists who can do that are being kidnapped and beheaded on tape. In short, the US is up shit creek without a certain instrument. ``

I was aghast and ashamed when I just saw the video of the almighty getting praised at the butchering of an innocent civilian. These terrorists are criminals and those who support them over the ananomity of the net are nothing but accomplices. These criminals are not muslims but criminals who are using religion to justify their base acts of kidnapping for ransom . I have no doubt that only hell awaits them in their other life and they would remain in those hells for eternity!!!
And Mr Irfan Hamid do not ask me to condemn the Americans as well because two wrongs do not make one right.

it would seem that Muslims have become apparaently -- a free for all -- shooting gallery......even in Buddhist Thailand.....

......one sometimes wonders regarding militancy -- which came first -- the egg or the chicken....here is one example:

JAKARTA, Indonesia, Oct. 26 -- At least 78 Muslim men suffocated or were crushed to death in southern Thailand on Monday as they were being taken to military barracks in packed army trucks after a demonstration, Thai officials said Tuesday.

The news, coming a day after officials said six people were killed when security forces tried to break up the protest, sparked fears of further violence in the already tense south. Muslims, an aggrieved minority in the largely Buddhist country, outnumber Buddhists in that region.

Soldiers arrested hundreds of protesters Monday after they clashed with police in southern Thailand, a majority-Muslim area.

The death toll of at least 84 was Thailand`s second highest for an incident this year. On April 28, an assault by security forces killed at least 112 people, most of them Muslims. (Reuters)

Irfan - it is so saddening to see all this happening in front of our eyes. It is truly rivetting. I sometimes wonder if perhaps the best thing is to admit to yourself that you are a soul-less person. It is too hard to see daily killings, beheadings, and massive bombings. It has become a norm, a business as usual. The war has a become a neatly packaged meat in the super market. you can`t tell by looking at that nice looking meat that so many animals went through the blood and gore of the slaughterhouse. The same way, we look at the war on our 48 inch TVs in our living rooms, while having casual chatting with our family. It is as if there is nothing out of the ordinary about it.

Never before a the death was covered so much by a media. And unlike the wars of past centuries, these current media covered wars will make our children grow up thinking of it as a `norm`.

#1 Seems like certain kind of words must come out of your mouth whenever you open it.... ``what ever goes around comes around`` for Americans as well as muslims/IRAQIS..... what is that `/`?..... a slash of convenience. Why did iraqis do? Suffered under CIA backed warmonger for years, and now suffering under US of A directly.... what went around has not come around, has it? not fairly enough.

And what do you mean, ``On the same note.....`` yada yada yada. You know what, if you feel so strongly about darfur_ its good to feel strongly about darfur_ why don`t you go ahead and put down an article about it... start a dicussion thread or whatever. This article talks about pandora box that Iraq has become; it is not a UN report on hyprocrisy. Your quoting darfur here does not give an impression that the situation there makes you sad or angry... it gives an impression that you believe Iraqis are facing a just fate because of what is happening in darfur etc.... die iraqis/muslims die...... suffer for all wrongs ever done.... yada yada yada.

Do you really mean that?
