Harish Hyd:

I do not understand the over exxageration and self-centredness that surrounds the Indian cricket fans. Why does everything in the game revolve around them?Shoaib has been struck with many sixes in his career, mainly due to his speed, so tendulkar/sehwag sixes hardly mean much. It happened like about 2 years ago.Get over it, man. It`s like when India beat Pakistan in 1996 worldcup quarter final and for the next 3 years, that was all the indians could talk about.

Murali is a great bowler, no two opinions on that. There are chuckers dime a dozen in international cricket, but how come no one is even close to Murali in terms of wickets or even the ability to strike terror in a batsman`s heart? This chucking issue was never an issue, but once the Aussies found him too hot to handle, and were never able to sort him out, they started this debate. Gutless ba$tards!!!

Shoaib Akhtar has never been the same after Sachin and Sehwag struck him for two mighty sixes in consecutive overs in the World Cup. As imran says, now even tail-enders go after him, knowing it is easy to put him off-balance with a couple of boundaries.

Hmmm,

:-)

I seem to remember the charismatic Xpress being accused of chucking too.... So what is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander .....

Im think im going to have to agree with samb here and add my two cents:

how much wood could a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck chuck could chuck wood.

so, what is the author trying to say here. the article just reads like a condensation of very well known facts of Murli`s career. though could make a fine orbituary for Murli orbituary one day.

Murli can get a thousand wickets if he wants but the point remains that he is a chucker. heck, if I was allowed to throw like that I could have been playing international cricket too. I`m told I had a very good ``effort`` ball when I chose to use it.

No doubt Murli is a good bowler but not the greatest. He is still missing the class of a great bowler. Records alone can’t make one great. Its like at one point Kapil was the highest wicket taker but by all means he was not a great bowler of his era or in cricket history.

Rawalpindi Express is good for nothing. Fastest delivery in cricket history!! Who cares even if tale enders are throwing him out of boundary. For him its time to perform, actions speak louder then statements. Where as he is good only making statements, no performance so far.

It was`t only the Austrlian umpires, but the Austrlian PM john howard got into the act too.

Madani saab, Yep, no question about it. The Rawalpindi Express and Murali are not even in the same league.

Let us say that the ``Xpress`` has a way to go in cricketing terms to come close to the ability of Murali.

This bowler is nothing compared to R.Pindi express. He has bowled the fastest in world and has class and chrisma.
