I knew NFP as just another music critic writing on the music pages of english newspapers. Never knew he was such a thinker until this night when a friend introduced me to this facet of this man. Good one specially .. ``Astro-Marxism`` .. is really a great enlightenment but who knows Marxists will even exist in 31st century and beyond .. given that they are already ``extinct`` in this 21st century ....

ifIF -- this 30 feet high Tsunami wave that extinguished the lives of 150,000 men women religions and children from 11 countries of ALL world religions -- in 20 minutes -- in such a brutal way...

and as some wise folks say on these tsunami forums -- it was our own God`s doing ....

....then our dead wood cutter/carpentar God of all things big and small -- might have cut the very same trunk of the Tree -- on which -- HE has been sitting for the past 5 thousand years ......and who knows -- He Himself might have fallen in His own cruel surging waves, -- drowned, and washed away never to surface again.....hopefully

Your responses remind me of landslides. If only you would stop treating them as Tsunami waves ordained by God.

What? You actually thought both were ``nicely done?`` Must have done something extremely wrong. How can kaka actually say something was nicely done by nfp? Tell me, tell me (without your favourite word ``Chautiya``. Reminds me of this wonderful chaat you get in Southern Karachi).

Hello HN,
A pleasure to know that you found the stories a riot. Am already working on a few satirical fiction pieces. But thanks again. Your inputs are always welcomed.

#4 by snail
Don`t know what exactly is reality (and otherwise) in the first story. Yes, certainly inspired by seventies sci-fi. Especially Philip K. Dick. Or let`s just say Dick meets Monty Python, perhaps?

#5 by Nass
Ah, Nass. Thank you and thank you. For the ``insult`` and then the praise. I usually struggle with what is called ``reality.`` So please elaborate which one is what.

#6 by americanFOB
Actually, personally speaking I enjoyed doing the ending of god pulp. As for you believing that we are heading for a godless future (as suggested by the story), umm ... anything so depressingly wrong with that?

#8 by supersize
You really think It seemed like I was giving the finger? Thanks. That certainly was the subliminal idea. Or maybe it was ``god`` giving them the finger!

#9 by ana
Yes, ana that`s exactly what I`m saying. That makes me FUNDAMENTALLY very observent. Any other presumpsions about my FUNDAMENTAL observations and allusions you can unload at: nadeem.baaghi@Gmail.com

#10 by hamidm2
Perhaps the ``future is not what used to be.`` But then niether is the present.

#11 by Raw_Dust
Let`s just say this is more about a rash on the ass than hash. Thank you for the parts you liked and sorry for the ones you had no idea about. Maybe nither did I.

#12 by CoolHandLuke
And why exactly should I lay off that hash? Time you lay on some.... already.

rgds,
Nadeem Farooq Paracha

God Pulp should be called Goddamn NFP! It was great, even though I am a believer. As for the first one, lay off that hashish already bradar

random points that struck me:

I liked:

-the dual (perhaps unintentional) formed between talk-of-getting-fucked on the screen (an image/illusion presenting the reality-tv) and talk-of-getting-stoned in the Reality.

i have no idea:

-why the narrator seems stoned? he is supposedly giving a rambling commentary looking back and forth in time around 24th century (?) but he sounds contemporary ... this POV could be done better.. (me thinks?)

-why he seems to be working with NFP`s fav. old template.. a new permuatation of old NFP`s pet symbols god , mrxist-this and koran-ki-that..etc. .. (makes this piece predicatble)

-is this 2001: Space Odyssey rehashed ... hash with an H ?? ...

if NFP is saying that those who believe are nothing more than machines, he`s got to be a fundoo in some sense himself in dismissing what other people believe and lumping them all together. :)

Okay, just went through most of your stuff on chowk. This is certainly not your best.
But God Pulp was pretty good. You seem to relish the idea of giving those poor
God-loving machines the finger in the end. And were you also saying
that those who believe are nothing more than machines?

Top shots Parachay. Where have you been hiding? Good ta see you back with that dark quasi-sci-fi and full frontal satirical fiction of yurs.

Agree with HM: More from where this came from.

They are right when they say frusterated stoned out ``geniuses`` usually
use fiction to get back at God. NFP, I think people like you who are always so
upfront about your dislike of the concept of God are the ones who fear him the most.
Sorry for the insult because this in no way takes anything away from your talent as a writer. That is pretty clear in the innovative ways you use the modern Englishlanguage.

Interesting collection of stories. I liked how god pulp was coming along but I didn`t like the ending because it was dumb and biased. And why did you decide to link the two stories together. The only common link I can discern is, capitalism and all of it`s by-products are bad and marxism is good. But I liked the whole idea of an athiest future, we`re getting there.

In aerosol is kamran hullucinating? Meaning is what he thinks is reality a hullucination or vice versa?
Really enjoyed God Pulp. Reminds me of 70s sci-fiction. Good effort.

Nadeem,

This was a riot! Pal, you are seriously underappreciated. This was a great read is fresh material. Why don`t you try compiling a astro-cosmic book retrogade decadence with some solidified satire of futuristic fables!

More from where it came!
