Suggestions of writing appeal for information through Pakistan`s urdu press deserves merit. Many Pakistani soldiers of 24th Panjab from 1971 must be alive and few of them may still remember if Major Waraich survived his capture to whom he was handed over.
These people can be motivated to provide verifiable information by some sort of monetary award.

It was a good suggestion from `friend` and Veeresh is the one, who followed up on that. Bravo Veeresh.

Here are some practical suggestions:

1. If you are a Pakistani and want to help, do so. There is no need to attack Veeresh`s credibility or writing style. He is not asking you for money. Bellyaching over Bollywood movies or demanding resolution of Kashmir, Junagadh etc. is plain insane. If you do not want to help, find a nice clean sock and put it in your mouth and move on. You can help in Veeresh`s search or get a list of Pakistani POWs in Indian Jails so that an exchange can take place.

2. If you are an Indian, You can write to the Indian media and elected representatives. Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi must be addressed but opposition leaders of all parties also should be included in mass postal or e-mails on a sustained basis until somebody pays attention. A list of addresses compiled and published here will be helpful.

Nothing is more gratifying and illuminating than the Hindians and SeculariSTANIS getting at each other`s throats. This is what happens when one does not ``interfere`` in the fight . Hindians of course are Hindus in the secularists` clothes and Secularistanis being those wretched Pakistanis who somehow want to push the square Islam into their round andempty pegs.

You are a good man! I never used to read your posts under your previous incarnations. lately, I have been paying attention. You are an honest man and write from your heart. You are an RSS Walla and you accept it unlike many here you pretend to be non-communal in an attempt to appear objective.

Though there was nothing new in your 95% bit. I had already concluded that 95% of Hindus are communal and genetically superior. The rest of the 5% have some impurities and they still subscribe to Gandhi Ji and Nehru’s idealism. Isn’t this surprising that Gandhi Ji was the leader of a country that practices a religion that has the lowest tolerance level in any religion in the world.
Muslims are Achchoot, Dalits are achchoot , Christians are Achchoot. Muslims, Dalits and Christians and people of other faiths are not allowed in any ``Genetically superior`` household because they would “Nashat” the house, after all they are all ``Neech Zaat`` and Kameen.

I have another analysis about the make up of Indian communal society almost ready. I will present that at an appropriate moment. In the mean time, please continue to post your gems as they help me understand Indian “communal” way of life.

For the first time you have made a statement that makes sense. It is true that from 1974 onwards for Ahmadis and from 1979 onwards other minorities have faced institutionalized discrimination. Yet this is not what you were saying earlier. You are changing your statement. I still don`t agree with the phrase ``dangerous`` since it is a relative word... because coming from the country where Hindu-Muslim riots and anti-Christian riots are commonplace... shouldn`t you be more concerned about India?

Read Temporal`s post... your sheer affiliation with the cause of the POWs is a turn off for most people... not just Pakistani but several Indians I am sure as well..

Had that been the case , as Dost said , why is it that most of the conversions to Islam happened in the 800-year muslim rule , and not many there after ? Did it ever cross your puny mind that people converted to Islam to escape (or as a result of) murder/rape/torture ? Did you not know about a tax levied on kafeers called `zaziya` ? How come the hindu/sikh population declined from 14% in 1950 (in the then West Pakistan)to the present 1% in Pakistan ? Did the hindus and sikhs of Pakstan convert enmass and became `believers` to escape the evils of some caste system or were there other reasons involved ? We all know what the Quran says about infidels. Kill them , Burn them , Humiliate them. No mercy to the kafeer.

You talk a lot about Narendra Modi and the RSS types. Question that needs to be asked is , how many people have these gentlemen killed all these 55+ years that India has been free ? Hardly 10,000. No wonder the muslim population in India increases from 8% in 1950 to the present 16%. How does that compare with Pakistan`s record of killing 3 million of their then own fellow countrymen - the bengalis ? Or the systematic ethnic cleansing of the minorities ?

Dear sir , thank you for your concern for Indian muslims. You have opened up my eyes to their pathetic state. Sniff. Still , what I dont understand is , if they are treated so badly in India , why don`t they pack their bags , board the next train or bus , and leave India for ever to migrate to The Land Of The Pure ? After all , Lahore I understand is hardly 100 kms from Amritsar. Why has there been no migration of muslims from India to Pakistan in the last 3-4 decades ?

I must also applaud you in your efforts to shame us Indians into submission by pointing out the incongruities in the Indian point of view. That what India did to Pakistan in 1971 was just and perfectly legal and what Pakistan is trying to do to India in Kashmir is illegal and reprehensible. Bloody hyprocrites , huh ? What to do , us Indians are after all cunning scheming bania types. If we could break Pakistan into 2 parts and get away with it , we just did it. All it took was 2 bloody weeks. This is all an ado over nothing. Basically Musharaff is a liar.

He came to India and made this speech in Agra that there are no POWs in Pakistan. This was during Agra. Then he went back and did a big tamasha over doing a search in jails.

As expected, no prisoners were found.

Then with the grace of Allah some miracle happens and 2 POWs who were captured in 1999 were released from Pakistani jails last year.

Why were they not found in the earlier search?

What answer does Pak fauj have for this? The incident of Tikka Khan allowing a POW to seen is also well documented. Except for Khamkhwa, no Pakistani acknowledged this dichotomy.

But what else do Indians expect from an Army that lies to its own people?

On a different note, I am not ware of context but Hindus and Sikh were not given an option to join Pak Army. Muslims from areas which were to go to Pakistan were not given the option of joining Indian Army. Only Muslims from areas falling in India were given anoption if joining whatever Army they chose. This was decided by the government of the time with reference to both Congress and Muslim League. The officers and men were not consulted.
