Good people do not necessarily create good outcomes.

1989? The memory of any `heady atmosphere` of that year should make all Indians` hair stand on end. That was the year the current Kashmiri Chief Minister`s daughter was kidnapped. A determined holy war was launched - the longest, deadliest, most brutal war since 1947.

Indeed, since 1947, no decade between India and Pakistan has been even remotely like the 1990s.

The story reiterates the uselessness of the procedural hurdles created by poiliticians and bureaucrats to stop the interaction of common people. These are all for ordinary citizens because these are not applicable to the influential and the``terrorists`` .

It is getting a little sick of all the good stories, mostly pakistanis talking about the good nature of the indians and how we the pakis and indians are the same. Beena is a little desperate, had to dig deeper, back to asecond hand story from 1989 so that she could say something good. pathetic. How about the fundamental difference, indian muslims is an oxymoron, they are all ahmadi hindus and that is why no one joined the afghan jihad while pakistan transformed it self by it.

Think about it Beena, why no indian muslim in the US prison in cuba. if you dare, write about it, and reinterpret TNT. The other nation is in the making, converting the ahmadi hindus to real muslims in the madrassas of pakistan``

Jay

Why are you taking it on Beena?

She is what she is. Speaking her mind honestly. What she says is true. India has such a bullsh$$ system that.. well

Take it on URS. Take it on FV. Take it on Tauheed. they all basically lie. When caught they run away. 60 mils in Afganistan?, no drivers lic in Saudi after GOD spoke to ...Before that ...well..Woman ran business. Was not bad before GOD ...

Let me tell you something. God sent a message via G.. or something ...as far as book you love. GOD directly spoke... daughter in law is... covet is the word?

I see it from a different perspective.....Visa is the stupid way the politicians remind us of the persistence of TNT....the two copies that are handed over by the PAkistani authorities which are to be turned over to the Pakistani police registration office is a reminder of the suspicion that these politicians want to keep alive..................and why do we need to state the address before migration in case of migrants?..the fact of the matter is that much of these issues need to be tackled by showing the sincerity of intentions by the PAksitani politicians (which they obviously do not have) when dealing with issues like Visa relaxation- since Pakistani authorities need to act in kind and remove these very restrictions before they expect the Indian Visas to be freed from these restrictions................and I doubt they would do this....................that is the reality that both the citizens of these countries need to address together.......
However India has relaxed these norms for elderly on a unilateral basis without demanding reciprocity from Pakistani side........................

India eases visa norms for Pak nationals

September 18, 2004 18:34 IST

India on Saturday announced further liberalisation of visa norms for Pakistani nationals, including doctors, academicians and accredited journalists, setting a positive tone for next week`s meeting between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Pakistan President Gen Pervez Musharraf in New York.

Pakistani medical doctors, if accompanying patients for treatment at reputed hospitals in India, can now be issued visas without the mandatory requirement of reference to headquarters in Islamabad and will also be exempted from reporting to the police, external affairs ministry spokesman Navtej Sarna told reporters in Delhi.

A similar easing of restriction will be available for Pakistani journalists with three years accreditation and working for national or international media organizations of repute. They could be issued multiple entry visas.

Academicians, professors, vice-chancellors and those coming to India on the invitation of reputed/eminent universities and institutions too can get multiple entry visas without prior reference to headquarters. They will also be exempted from police reporting.

All Pakistani nationals above the age of 65 could be granted visas with exemption from police reporting.

Actually MBZ episodes are sometimes better than Ludlum novels. Only thing is Pope is replaced by Aga Khan and Russians by Gujarati Hindus.

As far as Beena`s article is concerned, yes it is funny. But it is not so funny for the larger number of travellers to each other`s countries who do not have ``approach`` or ``pattaa``.

Totally off the topic, but why don`t I understand anything that MBZ writes? Does anyone else?

Reporting at the police station is unfortunately a necessity in a country like India to maintain records.

``South India is another country for many North Indians and Pakistanis.``
It seems to be a fixation with people from Pakistan but definitely not true. While every part of India is unique in its own way, India retains cultural continuity in every direction.
