nasah mian,
.......... the kid is not confused ....... it is apparent to even an old waft of stale air like me that islam is all about sex (or the lack of) ........... liquor is a distant second, followed by an obsession with pigs and interest bearing accounts ................ on the other hand, he is right that america is all about the right to have sex with the partner of your choice, drink budweiser, eat bacon and make 1.08 % on your savings account ........
........ so, there is no confusion - if we got rid of sex and liquor what would differentiate us from the dead-ender jihadists, suiciders and homiciders ......... if we got rid of the sex and the booze osama would crawl out of his cave and declare victory ............... so let`s thank the twins for defending our liberties .......... we owe them more than we owe rummy

here are a few interesting excerpts from a confused bewildered Muslim kid from an apparently conservative Muslim background trying to shake off restrictive Muslim upbringing for what he thinks `permissive` Western values and cultural freedoms:
``Sexual freedom goes to the heart of international diplomacy. If you cannot have Sex with people from other cultures and civilizations how will you ever learn anything?``
``I must say that in comparing the two, I can only repeat that I believe in Freedom, as much as George W. Bush does.``
``the real soul of the culture of the West is best exemplified in the evangelical movie The Passion, directed by Mel Gibson.``
``Believe it or not but Christianity is very much alive. Belief in the resurrection of Jesus Christ exists. Just look at President Bush, who is a born again Christian.``
sometimes expression of one`s confusions by itself is resolving half of the confusions ...let`s have more of these articles on CHowk....

There are many Muslims, both in their “native” lands and in the West, who believe that religion is a personal matter and is limited to one’s quest to connect with God in any way shape or form one sees fit. But that connection, to repeat, is “personal.” Everything else revolves around the mundane.
The West understood that long time ago, hence, its superior societal system and advancements in improving the common life.
In the Islamic world, the “conservative” Muslims, on the other hand, tried their very best to shove their written-in-stone beliefs down everyone’s throat, stifling independent thought and creativity among their populace. Those Muslims who dare to disagree with them are silenced violently to teach the dissenters a lesson. The result is that the Muslims, and the Islamic civilization, have become a community, Ummah, of suffocation and of ignorant people, of folks with nothing valuable to contribute: in literature, the arts, the sciences...in anything other than violence.
The enlightened Muslims must take charge against the easy-trigger-pulling mullahs if their identity as a Muslim and the Islamic civilization is to survive all other civilizations. At the beginning of the 21st century, thanks to the ``conservatives,`` it’s a shame to be a Muslim.

Trust me Omar, there are many Muslim men and women from all over the world, especially Pakistan who prefer individual freedom and liberty advocated in the West. For those who make excuses from life through religious dogma, in my eyes have no right to preach to us. For those who preach simply through religious references, and not through real experiences have no basis for their arguments. In the modern world where rationality is the new world language, stopping us from experiencing dating for instance with reason only being because God says so is no more adequate to our curious minds. I am not suggesting that religious faith is redundant; I Belive in quite the opposite, religious faith cements the feeling of belonging and identity coupled with spiritual hope in the world. However, it is a private issue and people in the world do not care any more who believes in what religiously. If you live in France and wear the hijaab then why live in a city of romance? Just move back to your country of origin.
