very touching ............ a man gets defined by his actions than by his words.......only if all of us could become as human and stop asking about someone`s faith before reaching out to them..........

I hate to be the spoilsport and probably get hated for saying this, but there are thousands of people on this planet helping other people in various ways and DO NOT talk about it.They simply serve.Their reward will surely be in heaven.Doctors every day perform their duties under extrenuating circumstances, yet always manage a smile at the end of the day.Volunteers from all parts of the world are in the tsunami hit areas and doing miraculous things , yet doing it without comment.Without expectations.Whether it is darfur, the water damaged baluchistan, the tsunami affected areas, the bird flu affected areas, the war ravaged sudan, the hurricane devastated florida and endless other places where `normal` human life is affected by an act of God, the list is endless , of many selfless individuals offering their services to their fellows. For every one child `kandan` there are many other such stories all over the world. It is only, us indians, who expect , and i daresay , demand ,gratification for services rendered.

Harimau,
Your set of pieces on Tsunami is a very touching impressionistic account. Its power was that it was an affected eye that saw. As you have so well documented in these series the moulting process, of skins gained, grown, and then grown out of. That is what makes it so effective.
It was a very refreshing series. And yes, I join in the applause for your work for the affected.
I like dost`s term....karma yogi!

How can you write this and talk about massacring Muslims in the same breath, I don`t understand.

Superb! This is the most touching and poignant of your tsunami series. You are a true karma-yogi. Thanks for sharing this with us.

good work harimau - both the writing and the actual lead you took in working for the
tsunami victims. But, you should not allow the results of the work to affect you.
good work.

That was extremely touching. I said it before and I`ll say it again you don`t merely talk the talk you also walk the walk. I feel like touching your feet too.
