doosra is just the off-spinners ball for what the legspinner calls a googly. (the one that goes the other way)

I will never understand this `doosra` bizniss.Despite explanations from well meaning folks.Cricket is becoming more complicated than the european union constitution. All indian news channels reporting tonight that the indian cricket board(BCCI) is going to start its` own 24 hour cable channel for us indian viewers.?????.What will they show for 24x7?.Cricket?.
Squirm.

doosra just spins the other way. its all about how u release the ball. nothing `that` complicated about it. hard to bowl but its just another delivery really

.....I can watch an ODI, but test cricket??.And, have you watched the indian team lately?.I`d rather watch a bunch of old biddies having a cross-stitch competition. They`re a bunch of losers. There are atleast 7 or 8 sports channels to watch already.ESPN india is my favorite, one gets to watch basketball.

. Anyone from Karachi here?
If yes, do you remember a ``Finger``?
If is the same as a ``Doosra``?
For people who aren`t familiar with ``Finger``.... We in Karachi played cricket with a tape ball and there was this technique where the bowler would press the ball with his knuckles and deliver the ball. This delivery would have the most amazing turn that i have ever seen.
Some argue that it originated in ``liaquatabad or Lalukhat``. I am of the opinion that it originated in ``Gulshan-e-Iqbal`` Block 13/D``.
Does anyone have any info?

sadly, the only solution worthy of the indian crowds is what has been done in calcutta (i believe its calcutta), where the crowds have been caged into the stands like animals. hahahaa....

I refuse to watch the india/pak matches anymore, even as the kanpur ODI is going on as i type!.The whole series is a sham, and is FIXED.With corrupt players and political considerations invading a sport , we oughtta just call it an exhibition match and leave it at that.I hope Ganguly, Tendulkar are sent to a retirement home very soon. And, i hope that Pres.Kalam does to the BCCI what he did to the UPA govt. in jharkand.Tell them to get the **** out of town.

``But if action of some of these bowlers had been absolutely clean then every one would have assumed that rules defined by cricket were never defied.``
If the actions of all these was bowlers clean, why would the ICC set the 15-degree rule?
``So ICC in an indirect way has legalized chucking to save the game from jeopardy.``
Sports changes with time. So should the game.
Don Bradman once hit a six and a four at two consecutive balls. The match was put on halt whilst the umpires questioned him; ``Bhai kya hai? Cricket khelo. Kya kar rahay ho? Koi tamasha hai?`` Back then Cricket was about discipline. It was as slow as golf and had the reputation of being too-British. The category which still treats the sport like it is a Lord`s game sees ICC`s decision as illogical.

actions of people like murli and harbhajan seemed dubious through naked eye which lead to dispute between ICC and murli. Murli then disclosed truth about other bowlers whose actions seemed clean. This forced ICC to use technology and finally it was revealed that murli was right. This forced ICC to increase limit to 15 degrees to save game from jeopardy. What i mean to say is that if action of murli was clean every one would have thought that rules of game were never defied even though this was not the case in reality. 80% of bolwers defied boundaries of bowling according to rules

the doosra is an off spinner that breaks like a leg spinner, i.e., towards the off for a right handed batsman
