delhiwala: welcome back to chowk.

you should watch where you park in new york - mayor bloomberg was grumbling about people who come from out of town and park in front of no-parking signs.

women are arrested for running the marathon in order to make maulvis happy
mainstream politicians are in exile
elections are tilted in favor of maulvis
peace marchers are denied visas

Connect the dots and what do you get: A government that is determined to keep the silent majority silent.

Beena Ji,
India is worried about ISI agents and Pakistan about Indian agents coming in as Peace Makers. How do you solve this problem? Afterall Govts also have a valid point.

Frankly, peace initiative coming from a Hyderabadi Muslim is a questionable topic. No offence to this character, perhaps he is genuine but most of the peaceniks are afflunent Politicians in India and Pak.

Simple Answers:
Why easy visas given to thousands of cricket fans to visit Pakistan and not too visitinmg ``peacemakers``?......Cause PCB and more importantly important officials in it know all about the corporate game that has taken over cricket and the huge sums that can be made from having thousands of visiting fans from India come over for a series...and for that have the clout to influence policy
..On the other hand having a bunch of generally left wing lovey dovey peaceful sorts (as important as they in reality are)...is quite unlikely to get much notice from Musharraf and co. up there in the leadership.

No amount of peace marches are going to bring India and Pakistan closer unless the governments themselves desire it, so I find it amusing when these peaceniks take their roles so seriously. It is a well-known fact that as people, Indians and Pakistanis get along famously, so what is it that they are trying to prove?

As countries, India and Pakistan have some seriously irreconciable differences and unless these are resolved, they aren`t in a hurry to come close to each other. So I think these peaceniks should just chill.

Wuz up Beena. Didn`t get an Indian visa? You should be more concerned with what Mushy`s
``enlightened moderation`` is doing to marches in Pakistan. Did you see what peace was made out of Asma Jehangir in Lahore. Why not go to Lahore first and then crib about Indian policies regarding peace marches.
