As I have said before:
The problem is of trust between the two nations. Unless there is trust no solution will be acceptable, if there is total trust then any solution will be acceptable.
trust will be built by 50 years of peace, trade and goodwill.
till then one way or another the war will continue.

I am serious. Hindians will be angry no matter how it breaks. But if it is the politicians who are seen to be making a compromise, then the janata`s wrath will fall upon politicians, who will simply lose the next elections.

Hindvi Sahib,
This is no error or accident. Khamkhwa has the ability to edit stuff and delete messages and erase threads on Chowk, at least on UP. I have witnessed him correcting his spelling right after posting in on UP.

If Kashmir breaks away, rest of India will disintegrate. Pakis/rulers are not interested in Kashmir only. They want complete destruction of India/Hindus. After Kashmir, it is UP. and the muslim belt.
So, if someone naively thinks that giving up Kashmir to Pakistan will bring peace, then a thousand idiots died the day that someone was born.

``It depends upon how it breaks.``
Come on, this is lke Jinnah making a point for a ``secular Muslim nation`` i.e. you can see the difference in your eyes, to 99% of people there will be no difference. This is just too idealistic, no matter how the lipstick is put on the pig people will see through it.

From Nandita Kathpalia Baig, I learned that religion can be expressed as fractions. From some Mullahs on Chowk, I understand that one full-blooded Moose Limb is equal to ten Indoos. Gujju, Cayenne, and other sharp-witted Indians have stated that it takes superior Indoo genes to perform complicated mathematical calculations.
So:
1 Moose Limb = 10 Indoos
I am (0.25 + 0.50) Moose Limb and 0.25 Indoo
I am equal to (10(0.75) + 0.25) Indoos
Yes, I am equal to 7.75 Indoos :)
And they say that Chowk is not an educational medium. :)

``I have another prediction to make nothing much will happen in India even if Kashmir breaks away, at the very most it will be a Babri like situation``
It depends upon how it breaks. If the break comes about as a result of a political settlement, then I do not see much repercussions; but if it comes about as a result of a referendum which India is perceived to lose because of Muslim voters, then all bets are off. This is why I am against a plebiscite in Kashmir but am not against letting it go.
bongdong#159:
I would rather have Kashmir join Pakistan than that it become independent. The last thing you want is a strategically placed independent state like Afghanistan with China, India, Pakistan, Russia and the U.S all meddling in it.

You are right about all of what you said except katlus. That, my friend, is the ONLY benefit that I can see about being Moose Limb. It is all a performance issue - and now it is confirmed that it is 70% better against AIDS. Happy Days are here again. :)

I dont think you, me or anyone here can forecast the effect of the fall of Kasmir on India. Maybe violence will be widespread, maybe not. But one thing is sure, right wing ``Hindutva`` will receive a big boost as Hindu`s will nuture a sense of grevience much greater than Pakistani`s felt for the loss of Bangladesh.
We may even see the rise of a hyper-nationalist, millitaristic state (god forbid!)

A question I have had.
The fear with Kasmir breaking away is that inevitably it will join Pakistan or be a state nominally independent but closely aligned to Pakistan. For instance we can envisage a ``liberal`` faction (say the ex-JKLF) in Kashmir that will try to keep an independent policy with some semblance of balance between India and Pakistan. But since the extreme islamist pro-Pakistni groups will have the guns on their side they will hold sway, so should Indian policy be then to keep Kashmir aflame by backing the more ``independent group`` with arms?
Even if the UN is involved, India will face the additional burden of superpower meddling as NATO/American forces establish bases in Kashmir. China may be in open conflict with these peacekeepers as it tries to retain influence through Pakistan (ie the Chinese/Pakistani policy will be even more closely aligned).
The point is I dont see breaking away as any solution, the ``war`` will still continue.

PULLING RANK :)
Shankar #297, {``OK baccha...now you are showing SOME RESPECT to a p*ssed off brahmin... ``}
Hamidm2 #276, {``p.s. my grandma was a syed-zaadi so she was guaranteed a spot in heaven``}
Hai Allah! Both of these gentlemen are pulling rank on me! Look how subtle Mr. Hamidm was in referring to his holy lineage - a direct descendant of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) no doubt. So now I am supposed to kiss this Sayyad`s ring finger. These high-caste Moose Limb Brahmins are too much to take. It`s not fair! Doesn`t he know that on my nannhiyaal side, I am descended from the assistant chief chariot mechanic of His Imperial Majesty, King (Shahinsha) Cyrus (Surosh) the Great? I will kiss his ring finger, touch his beard, and that`s where I draw the line. I will not kiss his Arabic rump.
And then there is Shankar Wanker Bhayya thumping his chest and whirling his choti around. He wants us all to kiss his Brahmin buttocks that he keeps aired in his minisule dhoti. Hey Ram, I can`t stand this humiliation anymore. Bhagwan, please let me die and come back as a dung beetle. Why am I of such pathetic pedigree? My Rajput ancestors fought to enforce this Brahmin`s ancestors` passion for having their pale posteriors puckered by paindoos. Why couldn`t my grandpa have been a Pandey or a Dickshit? This is going beyond the pale. I will place a pocketful of Papuan pesos that my pale posterior pales this Brahmin`s pale posterior in paleness.
Now I know how Mr. Dalit feels. Where is Dalit when we need him? The only thing I can do is now to torture those below me on the totem pole - watch out Baniyaas and Pathans!

this is what u said
``Although it is not relevant to the topic, the proportion of Muslims is now about the same as it was prepartition in the ``areas`` which are now India``
if u had said ``area`` instead of areas u might have been right, but now that u have corrected urself that is fine.
Dont worry about my self interest, I have another prediction to make nothing much will happen in India even if Kashmir breaks away, at the very most it will be a Babri like situation.

Mr dost mittar any time and any place where ther is an insurrection going on and the majority is in revolt against the occupying govt. people who either collaborate with the govt. or are perceived to collaborate with it will face punitive action wether it is anglo sympathisers in revolutionary america or muslims in kashmir (yes many times more kashmiri muslim collaborators have been killed than all other minorities combined).
This will happen irrespective of the people being muslims, german sympathisers in France, french sympathisers in Algeria, muslims in Jaffna or hindus in kashmir.
