Romair,
Please ignore the question if you find it too obtrusive. Do you think your surname Raja is caste name as opposed to being a honorific title or middle name?

It`s only just now that I realised that the spelling of ````losing`` in the title has been corrected. While I appreciate your prompt action, it`s a little shameful to make that kind of basic gaffe, isn`t it?
I first thought ``loosing`` was a pun of some sort, sadly....
BTW, this interact thread feels more like UP than FP, with scout making an appearance, the illusion is complete!!!

Chohan Driving School is one of the most popular place to get your driving lessons and license (often the same thing) in Mumbai`s western suburbs.
The proprietor, eerily enough is also called Salim!

Nandita,
Since you are hindu and your son is 3/4 hindu, why not officially convert to hinduism? You and your family can go to a Arya Samaj mandir and just convert to become 100% hindu. We hindus would love to have you come back to our fold.
Just evaluate both options. India is an emerging economic power on the global stage. Since hindus are a majority in India, hindus are getting world-wide respect for their accomplishments. As a hindu, you will be able to enjoy that legacy and your son will have a bright future.
Being a muslim is a curse in today`s world. A thousand years back, when people converted to Islam, muslims were on the rise. Today, muslims are rapidly becoming worse than lepers all over the globe. In the west, people loathe Islam. They are already treating muslims like animals and it is going to get worse. Why do you want to become a leper and subject your son to life long humiliation? If you were born into it, you have little choice. But in your case, you do have a choice. Just convert to hinduism and get away from the abomination of Islam as fast as you can.

rsibhar #15: `` can understand your situation. With a Hindu Rajput last name, it was not easy to explain to many Pakis that I was born a Muslim.``
I truly hope you are just lost, and not seriously making this statement...........
I have a, ``Hindu Rajput`` last name. Have had it my whole life. Still have it. Never had any problem explaining to anyone in Pakistan, where it came from. Not a single person in Pakistan has ever asked me. In fact, so many Pakistanis, themselves, had a similar name........
I can understand you desire to indulge in such an exchange of ideas. It seems to be the common trait amongst many on this site. But, please, can I make one request: At least try to be original!! I can tolerate nonsense, even it is directed at me, personally. But nonsense, without originality that is so off the mark, it just ruins a perfectly nice day............
P.S. Assuiming your last name is Chauhan - Following are two cricketers named Zaheer and Khurram Chauhan, who play first-class cricket in Pakistan.......There are many many more Chauhans all over Pakistan`s Punjab...... Do a search on Chauhan and Pakistan.... ......http://content.cricinfo.com/pakistan/content/player/43710.html

lemme guess, u`re 6 year old goes to an american school?
welcome to the fox news generation :)
parents passing on their media fed bullshit to their kids, how sad
the other day, some fukkin redneck asked me why hindus believed in the caste system
it`s more of a cultural teasing than actually wanting to find out the truth.
they don`t want to hear that not all hindus believe in the caste system, not all muslims believe in violence, etc.....

(Firstly, according to yr explanation,it seems to address only the males as a sign of belonging to the religion. The females I guess just tag along? Secondly, how can just this one act be the 100% sign of who .... Don`t other tenets of goodness, peace and human qualities set out in the holy book also count for anything or does it all hinge on just ....)
To begin with, you have a good nick.
It was just a friendly academic inquiry from Dost-Mitter, a good friend of mine.
I could not care less what any one believes in. Every one is free to believe what he wishes. In fact, I feel that the author has not lost anything. Maybe, by getting into this confusion, she is more wiser and free.
Finally, Circumcision has been further taken ahead by some Muslims. Women are not left behind. In Somalia, women are circumcized as well. Clipping off the clitoris so that they do not undergo the unnecessary joy of sex.

I didnt know my caste till Mandal came up. I also went to my mom and asked her -Mama, what`s my caste? She told me I was 2/1 brahmin and there`s no reservation for us so we must study well if we dont want to die of hunger; ``bhooka-marna`` she said.
Ma was deeply troubled by all this, she later told me. Divisions of caste and hatred that comes with it. She was also worried about my future where lineage is important than merit. ``We`re other castes now``, she`d exclaim. She also wanted to write an article like this but she couldnt. You see she`s dusvi fail.

Yes really, is there any wonder as to why christians gave up circumcision? Firstly, according to yr explanation,it seems to address only the males as a sign of belonging to the religion. The females I guess just tag along? Secondly, how can just this one act be the 100% sign of who is actually a real muslim or not. Don`t other tenets of goodness, peace and human qualities set out in the holy book also count for anything or does it all hinge on just this one rigid thing between a (male) kaffir and non-kaffir?

(Incidentally, in case of your son, if he was not circumcised, he is zero percent Muslim)
Incidently, circumcision came from Judaism:
``Brit Mila (Covenant of Circumcision)
God said to Abraham, ``Such shall be the covenant between Me and you and your offspring to follow which you shall keep: every male among you shall be circumcised. you shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin, and that shall be a sign of the covenant between Me and you`` (Genesis 17:10-11).``
Leaving aside its pros & cons, wonder why the Christians skipped this ritual?

Many Muslims claim that Islam is a religion of peace. But the question is whether those who are called believers in the Quran can live in peace with those whom they call disbelievers (Kaafirs) when the Quran says, “48-29. Mohammad is the messenger of Allah. And those with him are hard (Arabic-‘Ashidda’) against the disbelievers and merciful among themselves.” (Translation by Pickthall)
The fact is not to speak of Muslims, who have no mercy even for there co-religionist whom they can declare non- Muslims out of hatred; the humanity as such has been brutalized in general by what is going on in Iraq, etc.
Can`t we scrap all religions and become just human beings again as a Hindi song says:
Too Hindu banega nah Musalman banega
Insan ki aulad he insan banega

Nandita:
I appreciate your son. He is smart and clearly figured out what to do.. Otherwise he`d have end up like me, being an islam apologist for almost 26 years without knowing what it REALLY is..
Try to get a copy of Quran or read the different websites to see what is ACTUALLY written in Quran about the non-believers and the violence it promotes against the non-believers. And that includes close to 85% in India..
We should stop being politically correct and start calling a spade as a spade..

DM Sir,
Lekin ye batau ki Muslim countries govern themselves with some sort of Shariat or not?
They may not follow it fully but may apply parts of it.
Why does Pakistan not allow a non muslim to be elected in general election and as head of state. They officially suppress minorities, they may not have Jaijjiya tax imposed on non Muslims but goondas use this as an opportunity to promote violence.
In Sind every other day a Hindu/Sikh girl is kidnapped only to appear next day as a wife some Tonga wala and swearing by Koran to disown her family.
I am not bashing Islam but a good number of Muslim nations, such as PAkistan, Bangaldesh.
Why????

This is precisely why Muslim men are supposed to convert and then marry.
The practice of interfaith marraiges in India wrt the Muslim community, is
worrisome.

khare#33:
Looks like you have been paying too much attention to the RSS propaganda. Which Muslim says that ``others (Kafirs) cannot and should not exist in this world at any cost ``? Saudi Arabia is one country which comes closest to applying the strictest laws according to the sharia, yet I have not read any reports of them killings non-muslims who seem to be attracted to the kingdom by droves because of the opportunities it offers.
``Most Hindus in India are fed up of Muslim domination ...even though the latter are a minority.``
What domination are you talking about? They are hardly represented in the institutions of power, such as police and senior civil service. If some of them have taken to illegal activities, what has that to do with Islam? Can you tell of any quranic verse or hadith which asks muslims to become goondas or smugglers?
