Tasleemat Salim Bhai!
The bitter pill these dames and their drags can`t swallow is that feminism has not achieved anything more than some whores, bimbos, and exotic dancers being proud of their previously closeted professions. The majority of the American women on the other hand still have to put up with their drunk husbands and now boy friends and employers and co-workers too; a lot of them end up raising the children into dysfunctional adults by themselves. They still have to ignore groping and other forms of sexual harassment - even in the disciplined professions of armed forces. The rate of rapes and demostic abuse continues to rise unabated. Look at Mrs Clinton, the reigning champion of women`s rights succumbed to social/political pressure to let Mr. Clinton off the hook for exploring Miss Lewinsky`s dental hygiene with tools only reserved for Mrs Clinton. She couldn`t contest, let alone lose 2008 presidential circus, if it wasn`t for Mr. Lollipop hubby. Well, I suppose you know the rest.
The point is that in terms of security they`ve slipped 10 steps back, and in prosperity they have already lost the steam after the first baby step.
Similarly, African-Americans are still the largest ghetto dweller in the US. I was amazed to see the ``hood`` right behind the Capitol Hill. Just because a very small percentage of them earns millions in sports and entertainment, and some of their niggardly individuals like Powel and Rice have become the doormats of the highest echelon of the USA, our American-wannabe-desis are soiling their pants with excitment and breathing WOWs filled with ammonia instead of oxygen.
I`m sure Saminasha can present the `stats` on the casuality rate according to the ethnicities in the US armed forces in the two world wars to disprove my point. While she`s at it, she`ll get some stats on hispanics - the next largest ghetto dwellers of the US - viz casualty rates in this Gulf War.
Like she said, dropping names is no biggie, one has to know what the heck he/she`s talking about with knowing what the hell she was/is talking about.
These guys are up in arms about a mullah criticizing Sania Mirza`s on-court dress and questioning his `imagination`. Guess what, only recently she was the topic of discussion on one of the boards here, and Mr. Hamidm (Saminasha`s mentor and godfather) was leading the way in discussing her bosom (when he hadn`t even seen her play yet), followed by some of his ``horrible hindooos``. Although, one of the latter was honest that if he wanted to watch real tennis he would watch men going at it. (Frankly, V. William`s constipated grunts from the baseline turned me off from WTA a long time ago). While Mr. Hamidm defended his wife`s public display of her botoxed skin, he checked himself just in time to spare his daughters; probably as a result of being whacked upside the head by Mrs. Hamidm. I`m sure his gin/tonic has eliminated this bit of his memory.
Please note, none of the alleged Mullahs participated in discussing Sania`s endowments. Yet Saminasha questions the Indian cleric`s imagination...then she claims to have outgrown the `trainers`......sorry, Ana implied that about Samina. Too bad she couldn`t say it in plain and simple words...LOL
I suppose Alfred Adler had a point when he said: ``It is always easier to fight for one principles than to live up to them``

Dear temporal sahab,
Forgive my intrusion sir... and I applaud the noble effort that you are putting in against the military dictator and his manipulative regime... indeed we- the civil society of Pakistan- have been protesting along the same lines ..
&*^*& the Fauji Freaks!
May I suggest that we also protest over the filthy attitude of the expatriate jamatiya crowd who in their guilt-ridden and hypocritical existence in the West wish to transplant their ridiculous Islamist ideas to their country of origin. The fascist ideas of inequality and one religions being superior to another is the bane of our age. These fauji-lovers and jamatiyaz need to be stood up against or else they will implement their regressive Islamist and discriminatory ideals in the name of God and in the hope of exonerating themselves for their sins of living in the West.
Would you not concur that we do clamp down on Islamists who refuse to acknowledge the equality of all religions and faiths? Would you concur that we must uphold and honor the MAN-MADE constitution over all other holy books and promote the cause of EQUALITY of all faiths in all respects and all places? Would you concur that the most viable way to do this is through upholding SECULAR ideals?
Very respectfully and humbly submitted,
Rozaiba

To Malik99 #189
Respectfully sheweth:-
1) You still haven`t shown me one incident where I have infringed upon someone`s right to wearing whatever they want... you were operating on hearsay and your messed up royally... or should I say proved to us that you are the slickest operator in the game of ``foot in the mouth``. Neither have you apologized for a malafide attempt to deliberately concoct a fresh lie ...
2) You still haven`t proved that employment, education and representation etc are not ``secular`` but ``religious`` issues subject to theological quest and divine sanction as you claim at the outset of this discussion-
3) Courts of law don`t accept ``anonymity`` and ``hearsay`` as evidence... nor have you been able to produce any evidence... nor has the supposed ``hijabi victim`` of ``heckling`` ever claimed that she was heckled because of she was a Hijabi.... some 5 years ago to be exact. Indeed- the statute of limitations comes into play even if she miraculously changed her story ...
4) We acknowledge that like a typical run-of-the-mill hypocrite (Munafiq) you backed out of your earlier threats of physical violence against me.
5) Based on paras 1, 2, 3 and 4, any sane, normal and intelligent human being can conclude that you have been sheltered and protected from such harsh concepts as logic, truth, facts and cogent/rational articulation of issues.
6) Under Islamic LawThe infringement of morality aside-which is at best arbitrary- you have violated several core principles of the Islamic doctrine by indulging in Gheebah and proving yourself to be a Munafiq and by operating on hearsay and lying about me. Ofcourse to Muslims like you- form rather than substance matters... Hijabs, beards and physical threats of violence against those who disagree with you are infinitely more important to you then following these immutable principles of Islam, which help reform societies and individuals. Under the Law of Torts you are explicitly guilty of both ``Libel`` and ``slander``, though only former can be proved against you- The burden and onus of proof will rest on you to prove the veracity of your claims, which you have failed to do so hitherto and on severa occasions. .
Yours sincerely

I think that Stuka Sahib has answered this ridiculous statement quite superbly. President Reagan was one of the most well-liked and popular presidents in our history. He could have easily won every term beyond his first two had the Constitution permitted it. If Phyllis Schlafly assisted in his election, it only demonstrates that a clear majority of this country agrees with her in that effort.
Somehow, our ``highly-educated`` matron can`t stand anyone quoting Phyllis Schlafly. And that, friends, is my exact complaint against the feminazis. They feel that THEY have all the rights for equality, nay superiority, but can`t stand another person, especially a woman, expressing an alternative viewpoint. Thus the term FemiNAZI.

However since the issue is the failure of the authorities to stop harrassment in general... may I suggest that it would be more effective if in addition to rapes, the harassment of young males at the hands of feminazis and misandry-obsessed ``females`` was also included in that protest... since according to some recent postings on chowk.com, women follow young men from thread to thread and forum to forum with obscene remarks, profanity, and vulgar comments. much of this goes unreported, unless brought to the attention of the accused via Chowk Staff.
Would you not concur that the Chowk Management has failed in protecting our young men against common harassment by these uncommon thugs?

However since the issue is the failure of the government to stop rapes... may I suggest that it would be more effective if a similar protest was to be held against the US government as well... since according to an FBI report- a rape case is reported in the United States of America every 4 to 5 minutes... now... that comes to 720 rapes reported daily ... which means 262800 Rapes annually
Would you not concur that the US government has failed as much as our government in protecting women if not more? And why stop there... similar statistics could be obtained for China, India, African countries etc... well lets leave out Africa because after all these are ``Asian Americans``...

In an unprecedented protest, human rights activists will gather outside his hotel to demand that he repeal unjust laws and defend the human rights of women against Taliban-like religious extremists.

``Had it not been for Phyllis, Ronald Reagan would have a harder time getting elected... ``
Yes, and we would have had some jerk off like Mondale for President who must be the only guy who ran for election with a manifesto to raise taxes :0) .....and the Soviets would still be ruling the USSR and the cold war would be on. So, in retrospect, thank God for Reagen and in effect ole Phyllis.
``Had it not been for Phyllis, Mr. Roberts would have not have gotten as far as he has...apparently some of the quaint notions he holds center around rolling back rights such as equal pay for women in the workplace... ``
Crapola. There is not a single publishhed legal opinion where Roberts has advocated rolling back pay for women. Feminists do not like him coz it was Bush who nominated him. Bush would nominate a a black daughter of sharecroppoers from Alabama and the Feminists still would not like her. But if Billary had nominated a good ole boy, they would have loved him. Let`s face the facts, the only reason Gloria et al like Billary is coz they wanted to replace Lewinsky in her role as giant hoover. Agreed, Billary is charming and good looking, but it is ridiculous, the extent to which women will allow those factors to influence their thinking.
``But Phyllis holds some inconsistant positions herself....having had the benefit of a Harvard education, she feels its unneccessary for women who are fighting for equal rights...and who is she to deny the right she had to choose her destiny to other women? ``
Umm, if Phyllis could go to Harvard without the benefit of ERA, what is stopping other women? There are no rules preventing women from choosing their own destiny right now either. ERA is code for ``shaft the men for they are evil``, very different from actual equal rights.

Its like Mommy is here to protect her little boys from the Big Bad Progressive Monster...Mommy Phyllis, make them them GO AWAY!
Also, I`m finding it rep bizarro that Bill Clinton could be dragged through impeachment hearings for personal indiscretions, while the death of thousands of American citizens is apparently claims no responsibility from our current leadership. Or the destruction of a country NOT LINKED to WMDs OR OSAMA...
This is Rep math:
1 incident of consensual extramartial oral sex is MORE MORALLY DEPRAVED than the deaths of thousands of innocent lives.
Maybe Mommy Phyllis can tell y`all how handsome you are!
Phyllis Schlafly
Phyllis McAlpine Stewart Schlafly (born August 15, 1924) is an American conservative political activist known for her opposition to the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA).
Born in Missouri, Schlafly was raised as a devout Catholic in a poor family. She began school at a young age, graduating from Washington University in St. Louis at only 19, and later earned a J.D. from WUSTL. She later attended Harvard University, and received her B.A. and M.A.
In 1952 she unsuccessfully ran for Congress as a member of the United States Republican Party.
She first came to national attention as the writer of the best-selling book A Choice, Not an Echo, written in support of Barry Goldwater`s 1964 presidential campaign, and denouncing the corruption and liberalism of other Republicans, especially those in New England.
In 1967 she founded her own political newsletter, the Phyllis Schlafly Report, which is still published to this day.
She went on to become the most visible and effective opponent of the ERA as the organizer of the ``Stop ERA`` movement, widely credited with its eventual defeat. Schlafly argued that the amendment would actually take away important family rights for women, such as automatic child custody in the case of divorce and weaken punishments for sex crimes committed towards women. It would also make young women subject to the military draft. For her actions she was widely vilified by younger generation feminists, who denounced her as a weak and subservient housewife who personified everything the feminist movement was seeking to overcome. At the time Schlafly began campaigning, the amendment had already been ratified by 30 of the 38 necessary states. Schlafly was ultimately able to orchestrate a large campaign of grassroots support for her cause, however, and in 1982, after much campaigning, the amendment was narrowly defeated, only earning 35 states` approval.
Today she is a widely-published author and commentator, and the founder and president of the Eagle Forum . Schlafly is the author of twenty books, mostly on a variety of conservative political topics (though she has also taken an interest in child care and phonics education).
She was married to the late John Fred Schlafly. She has six children.
Had it not been for Phyllis, Ronald Reagan would have a harder time getting elected...
Had it not been for Phyllis, Mr. Roberts would have not have gotten as far as he has...apparently some of the quaint notions he holds center around rolling back rights such as equal pay for women in the workplace...
But Phyllis holds some inconsistant positions herself....having had the benefit of a Harvard education, she feels its unneccessary for women who are fighting for equal rights...and who is she to deny the right she had to choose her destiny to other women?

I happen to disagree with Phyllis Schlafly`s point of view... but no one can deny that she is a remarkable woman who has achieved a lot in her life...
It is unfair to dismiss her.... infact people like her a constant reminder that there are always two sides of the story... and a fundamental rule of natural justice is: Audi Alteram Partem i.e. Hear the other side.
