Make Room, Make Room!

R-Lintas is almost over and you right that these big agencies are not in touch with modern trends of advertising ... and yes those big hoardings are ugly ... nobody seems to mind.

These billboards are really becoming a pain. This is a rather different article by you NFP.
However, it is always interesting to note how some young Pakistanis actually get bothered when someone attacks things like bloody billboards. It seems such idiotic stuff is actually mistaken and glorified as modernism here. Pitty.

The biggest ``developmental`` agencies in Pakistan are being patronized by defence personnel,...

Mafia of contractors who are grabbing the real estate of the country in a systematic and tricky way,..and who is chopping down the trees of the green land,...when forest mafia stole forests of Azad Kashmir and NWFP ,...do you think Army intelligence was unaware of it,..particularly in a country where a bird flies,..and Army intelligence knows about it,...

What happened when historical revenue record room of Abbottabad was burnt to ashes ,..few months ago,..a historical record room which was built in 1876,..and which contained hand written books,...government records,..and hard work of centuries,...

It was located in the court houses,...next to it was the secret office of Military intelligence,...behind was living DIG hazara police,..and next to it was living ....SSP hazara police,....and they burnt the whole record room down,..while no video suveillance was installed,...and as usual electric short circuit was blammed ,...but one honest employee opened the mouth,..and said that main switches were off at the time of fire,...and fire truck of municipal committee was parked across the street,....Army intelligence stayed silent as usual,..and Land mafia was blammed by some honest journalists,..and the voices were eventually hushed up,.....

And few months ago,... a historical building in the bazar.,...which was owned by the government and which was in the custody of evacuee trust of Pakistan ,..which is headed by a retired army general got sold off for 75,000 dollars,..rumours were saying that a bribe of just few lac rupees was paid for a solidly built heritage building..a corner plot,..where a plaza was built,..worth millions of dollars,...

That heritage building was located at the corner of Historical Gurdwara gali of Abbottabad bazar,..which contained history of this hill station,..known as Abbottabad,....that gurdwara gali contained Arya Samaj mandir,..and sikh gurdwara,...and historical shops with verandahs,..and columns with flowery capitals,....

Rumours were in the air that ``developmental`` mafia`s eyes were on that historical Gurdawara gali ,..guess what last night the whole bazar got burnt to ashes,...daily jang fresh news mentioned briefly about the fire,..but next day no national paper mentioned about the fire ,.....

Army intelligence was present few yards away,.....and battery less municipal fire truck was parked across the street as usual,....

We are reading the political statement of the lieutenent general of the evacuee trust board of Pakistan ,....that government has recently approved budget of Rs 50 million for the up keep of gurdwaras,.....

Burning down of the historical revenue record room of the whole hazara division,,,,hushed up fire of the gurdwara gali bazar,...,.....construction of commercial plazas at the historical buildings of cultural and architectural significance,....pose so many questions ,..that if Army and police intelligence was unaware of all these national losses,....????

Yes, deforestation is a big big problem in some parts of the world. All of Indonesia will become one big football stadium at the speed it is happening.

However, I was joking. I think Paracha Sahib in his usual manner was being sarcastic about it.

Thank you Paracha Sahib for a very timely and informative piece. Last night I dreamt that the whole country was going dogs because of these Aids agencies. Which agency did you say you work for? And deforestation (the point where I stopped reading any further) is not because of billboards. Try to get out of your little box someday, you might be able to sell your garbage.
