The bombing took place in busy markets surrounding Cannaught place - Sarojini nagar , Paharganj , Gole Market. Places I have visited on many occasions in the past as a kid. These markets are basically filled with Punjabis - both sikh and hindus and a smattering of visitors. A huge catchment area for BJP.
Funny how the bomb blasts , all four of them should take place here...and not in busy markets areas where muslim population is higher , like Old Delhi for instance. No blasts ever takes place there.
What is also interesting is the reaction of so-called `Indian` muslims like Hindvi. The RSS did it , they say , whenever such things happen in India. When it happens in the West - either the CIA or the Zionists did it.

[Thanks both for your vote of confidence and sympathy for the Delhi blasts.]
DM-ji, would you care to comment on why the terrorists chose Delhi instead of Ahmedabad for their bombs?
I would like an explanation from you or other self-hating, hand-wringing Hindus.
Minorities should be made to feel that they are living in India under the sufferance of Hindus. If they understand that, you wouldn`t have this kind of crap or the business of conversions.
Have you noticed that while we had the Assembly of God, Daughters of Mary Immaculate, The TMSSS, the PMSSS, etc., active in tsunami relief, not one has shown up in Jammu & Kashmir. One wonders what would be the reaction of the Muslims to someone bearing a blanket in one hand a Bible in another.
The day after the earthquake, we had a suicide bomber in Srinagar. Time to fence off the Kashmir border, electrify the fence, sow several million landmines and tell Mushy & Co to shove their humanitarian concerns for Kashmiris in a place where the light doesn`t shine.... unless there is a proctologist involved. Or perhaps a mullah.

Pakistan denounces New Delhi bombings as ``terrorism``
ISLAMABAD, Oct 29 (AFP) Pakistan strongly condemned Saturday`s bombings in Indian capital New Delhi as a ``criminal act of terrorism,`` a foreign ministry statement said. ``Pakistan strongly condemns the terrorist attacks in New Delhi, which have resulted in the loss of a number of innocent lives,`` the statement said. ``The people and government of Pakistan are shocked at this barbaric act and express deep sympathy with the families of the victims,`` it said. Islamabad also called for a thorough investigation to punish the culprits. ``We hope that a thorough investigation will be carried out and the perpetrators of this act of terrorism will be brought to justice.`` At least 50 people were killed Saturday in serial blasts in New Delhi, India`s home minister and senior government officials said.

dost-mittar,
``I do not consider self-determination as a basic human right``........ what would you say to the people of estonia, latvia, lithuania, slovenia, e. timor, palestine, s. africa, india, algeria, etc, etc ............. what are the advantages of keeping people together when they don`t want to ?....... are you saying that the folks in smaller states like luxembourg, monaco, singapore and dubai are less happy than the poor souls sleeping on the sidewalk in calcutta or new york ?.............. in the end isn`t it all about the welfare of the individual ? ........... large nation states with territorial ambitions , like empires, are a designed to satisfy the huge ego of megalomaniacs .........

Good article but a little out of tune with the times. I think India was right making a u-turn with regard to Iran with Yazdi in saddle there. They had perhaps foreseen which way the wind was blowing in Iran as evidenced by the latest hate statement of Yazdi about Israel. It is perhaps the time for humanity to get united against the hate politics and killings.
Now look at Kashmiries who call themselves Muslims( They are actually terrorists having no nationality or religion ) and demand human rights through the barrel of the gun exclusively for the muslims by killing human beings, including muslims, indicriminately. Is it not paradoxical for anti-humans to call for human rights? I say first be human and then call for any human rights from humans. Hatred will beget only hatred and terrorism will be met by terrorism. I think it is time to have some world human organization instead of the so called `United (?)Nations` as the concept of political self determination as it has come to be exploited by the terrorists is obviously contradictory to the human rights.

Romair:
If the bomb blasts are an act of the kashmiri jihadis then rather than feeling sorry for the victims, go and close the jihadi infrastructure that you have created in PoK.
Your/Pak condolences doesn`t mean a zilch as long as the another batch of jihadiS is ready to sneak in from PoK.

Regarding Delhi blasts a good perspective I got from bbcnews..
It may be worth noting that the time when these blasts happened roughly coincides with sunset in Delhi, the time for Muslims to break their Ramadan fast. So, if these were Muslim terrorists, they may have calculated that they will miss conservative Muslims who would be at home to break their fasts instead of shopping in the markets.

My heartfelt condolences to the victims..

Romair, hamidm:
Thanks both for your vote of confidence and sympathy for the Delhi blasts. As far as I know, none of my close friends and relatives has been hurt but too many of my friends and relatives live close to the area of incidents and I hope that they are all okay.
And Romair, I do care for human rights in Kashmir; of course, as you know I do not consider self-determination as a basic human right.

Is this a compliment or an insult?..........You are starting to get really confusing.........Previously, it was quite clear when the you insulted. And you never complemented. Now every now and then, you compliment, and when you insult, it is done in a complicated manner.........I prefer your old way........It required less celeberal analysis from my side.....I already have my hands full trying to play Luke Skywalker to the two resident relatively sane Indians - Anil and Dost - and bring them back from the Dark side. For I can still sense the Good in them. The Force is still strong in them......The last thing I need is to start figuring you out also......
So could I request you to go back to the golden days of yore. When spring was in the air, and abuse was regular on Chowk. When men were men, and women were women. When I read a comment from you, I knew right away what it meant........

Dost-mittar #245: I am not sure how you have ended up in HP`s list. I don`t think you belong there. There may have been some single comment, at some time, which perhaps he is concentrating on, that put you there......Other than your misguided and stubbornly nationalistic views on Kashmir and your support of the human rights violations there, I have found your views on most other Sub-Continental issues quite balanced......

If it is any comfort, I am already on that list. You dont have to do much to get on the list. You stay off that list as long as you hate being a Hindu and view Indian history from a Muslim perspective only, as soon as you start taking any pride in Pre-Islamic India, you enter that list, regardless of how much you hate saffron brigade. Some people are willing to put even Amartya Sen on that list despite his life long fight against hindu bigots for the same reason.
As my being in Canada, with Internet, I don`t think it makes much differences these days whether you are in Chandigarh or Ottawa.

I have no doubt that the US ``persuasion`` played a significant role in that decision. Re. Shias, I thought you would know that Shia-Sunni politics plays a prominent role in some constituencies in U.P, especially Lucknow. Hindvi should be able to confirm this. There was a history of Shia-Sunni trouble during Moharram, which was, ironically, ironed out by the BJP which, I believe, does secure a small percentage of Muslim votes in Lucknow of the personal popularity of Atal Vajpayee.
