palatial kothi having sprawling gardens and long line of servants..this is what i have heard from every...yes every amma abba who migrated from india. (including mine..although i have seen some pictures as well and couldn`t find any thing palatial..!)

The tales of unclaimed property (evacue property) is another story most commonly repeated. I remember one of my uncle actually visited India to claim some!! but in the end got nothing.

i liked reading it.....but my grandparents didnt tell me they had servants.....they were from the indian rural middle calss.....they lived in the village in a big house..with 30 or so chachiss dadis khala and who not......and so were my maternal grandparents in lahore.......but i have heard many people tell this tale......thanx......too bad the readership wasnt much!
