WOG was a word originally used by Indians (before Independence) in praise of themselves -it stands for Westernised Oriental Gentlemen-I understand Malaysians and others used the same word. It is a very racist word...in Australia, it is also used for bug, as in a patient telling me, ``I feel awful, got this wog I can`t get rid of``; but it really stands for anyone not quite Anglo-Saxon, whether they be Greek or Italian or Turks or Chinese.
