Ali you`re not the only one who felt a tremendous loss when your grandmother passed away. she was a great woman - an inspiring rolemodel for the Pakistani women of today. I was also very, very close to my Nani and felt like I`d lost my mother when she passed away. so, I can relate on a personal level there. Nanis are very special.

re this article: you have a wonderful way of being able to articulate a myriad of emotions and feelings that others feel but can`t express as eloquently.

Also, I think ``Life`` , like ``Love`` and ``Ghalib``, is over rated. I dont see any ``laddoo pairraas`` being distributed. It has become quite boring, actually... the world.

I think the verse/couplet that you read long ago is this:

Maut ik maandgi ka waqfa hai
Yaani aagay barrhain gay dam lay kar

Its definitely ``maandgi`` and not ``zindigi`` which is absurd. And i think its ``aagay barrhain gay`` not ``aagay chalain gay``.

Ali,

I can relate to the feelings that you experienced on your visit to the graveyard. The emotions become more overwhelming when a loved one passes away in our absence and we had not seen or met him/her in a while.

Well written as always.
