Iraqis get fair elections(fairer than Paki elections) and Pakis are left with their ``#1 hero``

The Iraqi Elections: an Important Watershed
Iraq is now a divided country they are divided into sects Shia`s and Sunni ;
Funny...I could say the same thing about Pakistan..what with the shias and sunnis killing each other and the baloch liberation army forcing the land of the pure to cancel train services at night and run pilot engines during the day...
one of the Socialists who had always favoured Indians but the change of Government has turned the tables
The iraqis have a better opinion of Indians than of Pakis..They watch Indian films, you know..
I`m sure they won`t forget the paki terrorists who were arrested by the iraqi/coalition security forces.
Here`s how it works: In a democracy, if the people have a favorable opinion of a country(India), chances are, the elected government will have a favorable opinion too..

How long before Captain Clueless raises the specter of a shia theocracy knowing full well that Iraqis are mostly secular and Iraq isn`t Pakiland, where half the country is ruled by a self avowed ally of the taliban....

The concept of a Creator of some sort did not just happen due to a lack of understanding of the simplistic events that you have described. It is not a product of the lack of inquisitiveness of a human mind. Quite the contrary. It is specifically a product of the inquisiitiveness of a human mind.
If the smart people realized anything it was this: the vast majority of people are just sheeple who need the threat of a big bad dude in the sky to keep them in line ...
If there is no ethical mechanism that an afterlife revolves around, then how does one define ethics on this earth?
Ethics evolve...things that were ok for thepeople to do hundreds of years ago are not ok now...(except in the arab world perhaps)....
An ethic is an evolutionary concept.....much like following lane discipline and stopping at red lights...why do people stop at lights? because that`s the law? Why does the law exist and why do people follow it: because it`s in their interest to maintain a civil society..
people realize it`s in their own interests to do certain things and not do other things...following laws lets them maintain a civil society, thus giving their offspring a better opportunity to survive and thus propagating their species...the ultimate evolutionary instinct..

America was, traditionally, quite tolerant and fair in its domestic policies. It still is, in comparison to most countries.
you`re only saying that because you had to run away to Canada because of your ``immigration status`` i.e. the fact that you had none...
This is what you were saying days after 9/11..Now you`ve changed your tune because the t-shirt with a pakistani flag thing didn`t work out like you`d hoped...
Black Tuesday: The View From Islamabad on September 17, 2001
I do know the PAF is on alert. I think the US C-141s are going to start rolling in soon. I have a feeling the Pakistani pilots and army will assist and guide the US into Afghanistan, if it decides to carry out an invasion (even though the Pakistani govt. won`t admit it openly). There is no way the US soldiers can carry it out on their own.
Man, this is getting interesting. Information Technology suc/ */s as a profession. No glory. I wanna go back and put on the uniform.

Al- Qaeda: The Cutting Edge of Jihadist Movement
1. Rich guys/countries can kill poor guys/countries to their heart’s desire and no one is bothered. Poor people are generally considered, “collateral damage,” and dispensable.
Not rich guys...stronger guys....for e.g. the killing of a bunch of people in Bangladesh, balochistan..... and let`s not forget the shias in gilgit..
It was considered that the USA now had a right to bomb any country in the world, because 4000 of its own citizens had died. Anyone who even suggested that the USA, “had it coming” was considered evil.
funny YOU should be saying that....If you`ll check your own posts on Sept 13th, you were telling us how IT as a career sucks and how you longed to be on the frontlines of the upcoming invasion of Afghanistan...
Similarly, what if the people being killed were not Arab and Muslim?
funny how this works....before saddam was deposed, hardly any good and pure caring-for-the-plight-of-the-ummah muslim knew anything about Abu Ghraib...now they treat it like it was Auschwitz...
At the same time, even if one looks at the Americans dying in this war, one notices something common about a majority of them. They are generally the poor Americans. How many Congressmen have their child fighting in Iraq?
Hey capt clueless...they already made a movie with that theme...and the lard bucket made a ton of money on it....
Unlike Pakistan, in the USA people generally don’t join the enlisted ranks as a career.
That`s cos in Pakiland, you have a good chance of making it only if you join the army and then get appointed to run the army run companies...In America, the American people have other options...like private enterprise...
To get a US citizenship.
why didn`t YOU sign up? we all know, from your own words, that you were chomping at the bit to join the US invasion of afghanistan...now that you voluntarily relocated to Canuckistan, we know you had some problem with your immigration status...
I think the best way to avoid offensive wars is to make a law that makes it mandatory for all Congressmen voting for war to send their own children to that same war, first.
noble sentiments indeed.....but a tad hypocritical coming as you do from Pakistan...the country that abandoned the dead bodies of it`s fighting grunts so the generals wouldn`t have to be embarrased on CNN..
