Zaheera’s Jihad
Like the sikh leadership after 84 riots, muslim leadership has failed miserably. Everyone is selfish. Life is cheap....what do you expect when there are billion plus people?
People like tamashas....leaders and special interests exploit this weakness.

None gives a damn about Zaheera. It is a tamasha....a political circus. Looking for justice in India is like looking for ice in hell.Like the sikh leadership after 84 riots, muslim leadership has failed miserably. Everyone is selfish. He was AC/DC something commissioner in Police...I don`t know the exact rank...he lived close to a cinema (police colony) owned by sikhs. I visited him only twice and saw the cinema ruins myself.

Yasser Arafat
His biggest mistake was not accepting a favorable plan for statehood (Arab leaders were probably a major factor in this). Or, he misjudged the future. For that,
you rightly pointed out that he would go down just as a footnote.
After all the struggle and bloodshed, at the end of the day, he has nothing to show for it.

Indira Gandhi (and now Sonia) is that Gundee Run......Chor Uchaka are all the goons like Sajjan Kumar Tytler,...etc.
To the persons who take this event lightly and ignore it just a chapter in history.
This sikh boy in his late teens went to Punjab to join millitants. He went to Goindwal (border district with high millitancy) hoping to link up. Domestic pressure made him give up the idea. He was not a Khalistani, and Operation Bluestar wasn`t the reason. His only aim was revenge for 84 riots. God knows how many boys like him were burning with revenge.

The Jinnah offer is bukwas and pack of lies and deceits nothing more; i did not want to response the nonsense of #59.
PML/Jinnah was a crafty and intelligent person with personal vendeta against Congress and Nehru. His aim was dissection of India. I`ve read the below passage and a detailed description by a muslim companion of Jinnah. And, I`ve seen old maps, and plans of Partition (as demanded by PML) in a British history book. PML wanted all of NW India including western UP. Things did not go best for them.
They wanted to woo sikhs with false promises. (offers vary). With sikhs siding with muslims, upto Delhi, it would have been Pakistan. Kashmir would`ve fallen like a ripened fruit. What is happening in Kashmir would`ve been happening in Saharanpur, Muzzaffar Nagar..etc.
Once, they had achieved their territorial gains, they would have cleared sikhs out. ``Pakistan Hans kay liya, Hindustan Lar kay laingay`` was the plan that was fulfilled only partially. There were plans to cleanse E Punjab by force. Jinnah and PML did not expect the reaction in E Punjab against muslims. Several attempts were made to attack Golden Temple. Simmilar incidents were reported elsewhere in E Punjab.
While the alleged promises were being made, sikhs were already hounded out of NWFP, and Jhelum area.
If Jinnah was such upright, why did he not do anything to stop the mayhem in West Punjab? Why was the promised access to Nankana Sb not delivered? Because, they were lies....and as mentioned, nothing in writing.
Tara Singh was a Hindu who converted to sikhism in youth. Not a brilliant leader. Sikhs lacked a much needed crafty leader like Nehru or Jinnah. That is why they suffered the most. Sikhs had been victorious if the contest would`ve been ``dhaka shahi`` - they were best at it.....but it was the day of the foxes.
The trifurcation of Punjab is a different topic. Akalis are responsible but the Centre was prejudicial and the culprit.

The New Beginning
Like him, may be my elders have suppressed the events and dismiss it with general remarks, ie ``Aithay baray musulman hunday see...47 ch chalay gaye....`` Few go into details that are as varied as the world, humorous, barbaric, and beautiful....
As DM pointed out there were many muslims who were anxious to see their land of `milk and honey` materialize. For most, ``freedom`` was forced upon - folks who were simple and innocent who were living life with decency and hard work. Religion and politics was the farthest thing from their minds, and were never able to comprehend the `partition`.
Jang,
none ``leaves`` comfortable living and security as paupers for the unknown and bleak. it is stupid and idiotic to blame ``sikhs``, ``muslims`` or hindus .....the real culprits were Congress/Nehru, PML/Jinnah, Baldev Singh, Tara Singh etc.

Mr Gill`s narration is good for younger generation who did not witness the events and are fed by propaganda from respective governments, politics, religous bigots. The simple and non judgemental narration makes it believable and poignant.Like him, may be my elders have suppressed the events and dismiss it with general remarks, ie ``Aithay baray musulman hunday see...47 ch chalay gaye....`` Few go into details that are as varied as the world, humorous, barbaric, and beautiful....

Musharraf’s Radical Kashmir Proposals
Anyways,
Musharaf is not trustworthy....There is nothing ``great`` (as paki propaganda likes to declare) about his remarks. This hoopla will die soon; another hoopla will come.
Problem is much deeper than the kashmir issue.
There is no ``solution`` to Kashmir problem. It was Gandhi/Abdullah`s/Paki mistake. Too many villains.
What if the Pakis disguised as tribals had not invaded Kashmir? Hari Singh? would not have `acceeded` to India.
Inida will not stay united as a country if Kashmir goes.

From your last name, it is obvious that you are jutt whose ancestors embraced Islam. It is ironical and tragical that people out of the same lineage (who shared blood lines and common ancestors) turned against each other in barbaric manner in the name of religion. This has been the game of nature since dawn.
PML and Congress and other leaders were responsible for the partition. Each individual is responsible for personal actions. The karma finally caught up with the culprits. Many of the perpetutators of the crimes paid for their misdeeds later in their lives.
The `refugees` who suffered and were uprooted, surpassed the locals in new land.
I`ve passed Jargaon a few times on the way to Ferozepur. Pretty non descript town. I think Malwa is hotter and bleaker than rest of Punjab. And it was worse before the irrigation projects.
Do you speak Malwai Punjabi or have assimilated into Majhi?

It is not about winning arguments, but repairing the damage and punishing the culprits.

Sikhs` enemity and confrontation with Mughals/muslims began such.
Sikhs will not betray India for Pakistan or another nation. But, most don`t give a damn about India anymore. They do NOT have a duty towards India. Why would they shed blood or defend a country that betrayed them?
The solace lies in the fact that many Hindus who were anti Sikh have realized that many of the greivences are genuine. With internet and other interactions, the public has access to unbiased info about the incidents.

A relative was Police commissioner in Delhi at the time. Near his house was a cinema owned by sikhs was set on fire. When he walked out with a revolver, his Hindu subbordinate DSP told him that he is off duty today, and took the revolver from him. The orders `from above` were to keep the comissioner in his house otherwise, there will be consequences for the sikh officer.

again - IT was Dayanand i am correcting my mistake....Here is a quote. You guys can do your own research
``Dayanand, a Baniya Swami from Gujrat launched a movement called ARYA SAMAJ, which shunned Idol Worship but mocked Guru Nanak and Guru Gobind singh. Dayanand`s ideals could be summed up in few words.
Idol Worship is bad.
Hindi is the only language of everyone in India.
Muslims can be converted to hindusim after Shuddhi rite.
Only way to worship is through old ``Aryan`` ways of Havan
Widows can be married.
Marriage between different castes is OK.
Even though many of these ideals are good and are in consistent with Sikhism. Dayanand made a grave mistake when he criticized Guru Nanak by calling him ``a Fool``. Anyway, Arya Samaj was only successful in Punjab where many Punjabi Hindus converted to Arya Samaj. Thus sowing the seeds of future confrontation. ``
