Al- Qaeda: The Cutting Edge of Jihadist Movement
Posted by kaurasach Jan 27, 2005 07:19 am
The world is not united against jihadists. US wants India, USSR, and others to ``show restraint`` with jihadists in Kashmir. Europe wants to tie Israel`s hands. Thailand did not have supporters. Most of the world is praying for US defeat. US and other western powers want jihadists to thrive as long as they destabalize China, Russia etc.

The bickering and political game has given the jihadists to exploit the opportunity and spread its tentacles.

Jihadists are driven by fanatical madness and perverted ideology - their goal is not limited to removing US power from their world. They want an Islamic universe. When the world wakes up to this design is the important question, and will they unite against this agenda. I hope before its too late.

I hated salwars, they took away the beauty from the women`s....especially with the long kameejs....tambus flapping in the wind.

It is an central asian import. women wore ghagras and cholis in South Asia....i hate em even more.

As a paki said, in pakland, they are called ``pad bandagi`` (fart holders). Dhoti is better, so is kachha.

these days women are wearing smarter tighter salwars (look like pajamas/pants).

Salwar had feminine or negative connotation when I was growing up. Kids would insult/tease eachother about their fathers wearing salwars.

It was Pajama for men and salwar for women. And it was salwar/kammej.

After reading all the posts, only those who don`t deserve high scores and got them, seem to like the new system. Others (including those with well deserved high scores) have correctly labelled it as silly.

Now the only thing left is we have to see if Chowk staff is going to react to this input.

Chowk Staff,

Even if your system is `not biased` (i will take ur word for it), it is dumb and irrational. Some brilliant interactors are rated below some with the worst content.

And these interactors have 0 or only 1 rejected posts. So I don`t think the criteria stated by u is the basis for this dumb system.

Yes I know it is a private site....and they as owners have right to do whatever they want....and we have the option to not visit.....which is becoming an attractive option. But, they INVITE ALL to interact and participate....so I am voicing the hypocrisy in their motto.

Re: # 10

Because the `system` is rubbish.

I came to CHOWK because of its liberal policies. Had other websites where I could interact. This site exposed me to secular diversity. It gave me the opportunity to confront opposing views.

However, the latest ``scoring`` system is biased and irrational. A single moderator decides the value of your content. This is a devious design to channel a particular way of thinking. All I can say is the idealism flinched. And I don`t know if at least the ``Front Page`` is worth visiting anymore.

Peer rating may be more appropriate, yet peers often rate on likes and dislikes agreements and disagreement not necessarily the value.

CHOWK please rethink this bad system - to preserve the credibility of this site.

DM - well said.

but why even 15million?

the tiny 1 or so percent non muslims left are with the grace of God, and not with their noble intentions.

16 vivek,

yes. soon after i went to Delhi, and I talked to many of the victims (who lost property, but not lives) and witnesses.....According to them, the bulk of mobs were made up of ``kameens, chooras, chingads..`` haven`t heard that any middle class hindus were involved...these victims survived and protected in hindu homes and shops.....

An acquaintance who hailed from `sudarshan park` area of Delhi was hit on the head, but somehow was rescued.....he was very well off and thus managed to receive medical treatment....still had pemanent short memory damage.

my cousins were in transit on trains, but were lucky to live by hiding from the mob.

#8,

Sikhs are simpletons or idiots that is the only reason they suffered despite other wonderful qualities.

There was NO demand for Khalista, just equal rights and sikhs wanted the Centre to stop interfearing in sikhs and exploitation of Punjab. ISI was a factor, and so was Centre`s divide and rule policy that got out of hand.

Bhutto made a pact with Gandhi and was a factor that delievered the blow to the millitancy.

Kashmir struggle is kept alive by foreign terrorists. ISI recruits inmates with capital crimes and force others to fight. The number of native kashmiri combatants is negligible. Rest is just malicious bukwas on your part not worth an answer.

#7,

((the same can be said of the Gujrat holocaust... )). I agree, the simmilarity ends there though.....Mulsim leaders were in better position to seek justice....with large supportive interantional berthen.....and good numbers within India etc....yet they failed as sikh leadership. The culprits were local power not national power like congress.

To add to my earlier post, I salute the solitary sikhs.....who despite overwhelming odds....and knowing their and families sealed fate, crushed the mobs under their taxis, trucks, or amputated their arms with kirpans.....I pray every day that if I ever encounter such situation I die as nobely as these sikhs.

The mobs outnumbered sikhs by several hundred to one. And sikhs had to worry about their families too. I read a lot on this (many of the sources were Hindu orgs, authors and foreigners). One story was a narration of a `goonda` who was involved in the attacks. According to him, the goondas failed thrice in breaking the sikh neighborhood defenders. Fourth time, the attack succeeded with police backing, who dispersed the defenders and took the weapons.

#9,

I don`t think that was `justice`. he never saw it coming.....he didn`t see his family humilliated or tortured.....anyways too late now....

Despite all this, let me calrify that....this anger is NOT against Hindus.....But, a govt. who happened to be Hindu. Most Hindus did come to aid of sikhs, and did and do respect sikhs...and don`t see sikhs as foreigners.

To dispel any delusions....sikhs in the long run are better to be part of India than Pakistan. Had they secured a separate or an autonomous state within India, in 1947, that would`ve been best. Now, Khalistan is NOT a viable or a good option. Sikhs have to become strong and capable to live with respect in India, so that 84 is never repeated. Let it be a lesson ( an expensive one).

I can forgive and forget the attack on Golden Temple. I will NEVER forgive and forget anti sikh ``riots`` of 84. If I could I would `ve avenged it a long time ago. The ONLY regret if I will take to my death bed is that I never did my part to avenge it and bring to justice or consequences the murderers.....

BTW, it was not a `riot`. It was a well orchesterated murders of innocent sikhs overwhelmed by govt aided mobs and officials. A riot is when two groups fight on relatively even or simmilar circumstances. Otherwise, these hijras dare not attack sikhs...On several occassions a dozen or so sikhs repulsed large mobs repeatedly, till the police aided the mobs.

Sikhs should never forgive. Unfortunately, the stagnated sikhs (leaders) and as a community is more to blame for the carnage and lack of any closure. And they should moot ch dub kay murr jaan.

BTW, I did not lose a family member in the carnage.....just fellow sikh brothers and sisters. Movies like these will stir future generations. Good. I will not watch it - too disturbing....I generally don`t watch such movies.
The Baluchistan Issue
Posted by kaurasach Jan 18, 2005 11:25 am

Balochistan is Pakistan`s Kashmir? How much can India exploit the situation by giving ``moral support``?

Iran is interested in helping the `cousins` across the border. If it happens, When will it happen? Is it why Pakistan`s been allegedly helping US against Iran? Latest news.

I doubt Balochs can achieve any significant autonomy without outside interference and support. I doubt there is immediate threat by any foreign interests to inflame the situation. But, the thorn is big enough to make Pakistan limp or if not treated and removed, may cause amputation.

Hindus and sikhs were relatively better treated here during the partition mayhem.
Report What?

In India, there are a lot of ISI agents and Pak nationals with ill motives. Only yesterday, such a Paki national was caught in Delhi. It is a mutual policy. ISI agents follow peaceful old pilgrims. They shadow every move. Policies of both govts. and their intentions have created this bad environment and paranoia.

Paranoia scares away the common sense. In US, 9/11 aftermath, the screeners at airport searched 80 yr old grannies who could barely walk without assistance.
