Honestly speaking, Angana Chatterji`s work is often weak at best. This article
was more like a news report and seems factually correct. But her insights into
political and social forces at work in India, as seen in her other aricles, are
very superficial. There are tons of people who analyse these issues much better.

Incidentally, Arundhati Roy`s political writings suffer from the same shortcomings,

hours of 24th June, 1985, which took off from the pious soil of Canada
(Toronto-Montreal-London-Delhi) to India alias the Brahmin
Zamhooriat/Zulamhooriat or Brahmin autocracy; she portrayed the entire
Sikhs [of Punjab, Khalistan (under the occupation of Brahmin autocracy,
India, since 15th August, 1947, and those living outside Punjab and the

From Mukherjee`s remarks on the Sikhs, their faith, and their Sikh

Moyers, it appears that Mukherjee, an academic staff member of the
California State University, Berkeley, CA, and her interviewer, Bill
Moyers, are virtually devoid of the Sikh history, Sikh faith, history
of the Sikh Nation, and history of South Asia. Mukherjee has brought a
black spot on the esteem and integrity of the PBS network, its
administration and its staff like Bill Moyers, along with the
producer(s) of the PBS` programme ``Now With Bill Moyers.``
To put the matter of Mukherjee`s interview reflecting her hatred
towards the Sikhs and their faith and acceptance of Mukherjee`s point
of views by the PBS` Bill Moyers, without carrying out his home work on
the `historical facts of the Indian democracy and the Sikhs`, the
author would like to state the following in order to put the horse
before the cart:
The Sikhs are Sikhs, no one but the Sikhs. The teachings of the founder
of Sikh faith, Guru Nanak Sahib and his nine successors (Guru Angad
Sahib to Guru Gobind Singh ji) and the holy scripture, Guru Granth
Sahib ji, do not permit and teach the hatred to towards anyone or any
faith. In fact, the Sikhs have regards to the followers of the non-Sikh
faiths (e. g., Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, Hinduism (if it
is a faith, for details please see below), Jainism, etc.). In the Sikh
faith, discrimination based on colour, creed, caste, etc., have no
place. All human race is one and the equality is the basis of the Sikh
values. As such, Mukherjee`s view point on that ``the Sikhs are
anti-Hindus does not hold any water. Rather, it is the reflection of
her shallow knowledge, which has given the `disinformation` to the
viewers and audience of the PBS network, throughout the world.
As far the Hindus and their `-ism` is concenned are concerned,
Mukherjee should go through rather carefully the following statements
of the non-Sikhs:
Definition of Hindus:

Hinduism is neither a religion nor a culture. Literary meaning of the
word Hindu is a chor (thief), Daku (dacoit) or oochaka (scoundrel),

history nor on the world map, until 29th March, 1849. India was never a
`sovereign` nation until 15th August, 1947. The so-called `freedom
fight of India` was not the freedom fight of Hindus. Rather, it was the
``Sikhs` Struggle for Sovereignty, Independence and Political power,
which has been going on since 14th March, 1849 - todate.`` The Sikhs`
struggle for the independence of their forefathers` and the Sikh
Monarch Ranjit Singh, 1799 to 14th March, 1849, began at the very
moment when the Sikh Raj`s forces surrendered their arms to the British
Empire`s Maj-Gen Gilbert, on 14th March, 1849. The Sikh Monarch Ranjit
Singh`s Punjab, the Sikh Raj, a Sovereign, independent nation with its
own political power, was ``annexed`` by the British Empire for
administration purposes only. The Sikhs have been continuing their
struggle for independence by peaceful means and will continue their
struggle by peaceful means until the Sikh Nation is liberated from the
occupation of the Brahmin autocracy alias the alleged Indian democracy.

Finally, I have no choice but to say Madam Mukherjee, Bill Moyers and
the producer of the ``Now With Bill Moyers`` programme of PBS that you
have damaged your integrity and have unnecessarily wasted the tax
payer`s dollars, donations and your audience`s time in `giving them
misinformation and carrying out Indian administration`s propaganda, on
the highly respected airwaves of the United States of America.

Pahul and reducing professed Sikhs from their allegiance to their
