Sadna , if you have any sense you will stop interacting with this obvious lunatic barachota. Take a break. Serious.

Manto has always been a conceited fool. But forget Manto for now, this Sumaiyya intrigues me. I think she will make an excellent second wife as well as a superlative housewife.

So barachootya sees it fit to make a joke of the systematic ethnic cleansing of hindus that has been going on in Pakistan since 1950 . He believes that population of hindus in Pakistan decreased from 15% of the then West Pakistan`s population to the present 1.25% because hindus watch too much `television` !!! While shedding crocodile tears for the muslims of India (whose population in India has more than doubled in the last 50 years) , he won`t tell you anything about how hindus in Pakistan are systematically and deliberately , slowly but surely , coerced into giving up their religion and convert to islam , or face death.
Understanding Sanatana Dharma
A cursory glance at barachootya`s numerous posts show that apart from spewing out characteristic nonsense he hasn`t taken the trouble of responding to the post #234 of mine.
[13% of the population of the then West Pakistan in 1950 comprised of hindus. Today , in the year 2004 , hindus from just 1.25% of the population of Pakistan.
How do you explain that ? Low fertility of hindus ? High fertility of muslims ?
While on the other hand population of muslims in India shot up from 9% in 1950 to the present 16%.
How do you explain that ? ]
The above post was in response to barachootya hilariously claiming that Pakistan treated its hindus lot better than India treats its muslims ..so effectually , about Pakistan being a more humane and even secular state than India...and that minorities of Pakistan are better off and safer than the minorities of India.
But as I have shown above , facts state otherwise.
There may have been a culling of muslim population in various parts of India during partition . But since 1950, there has only been a consistent increase in the population of muslims in all parts of India. From 9% of India`s population in 1950 to the present 16%.
While at the same time , population of hindus and sikhs has decreased from 15% in the then West Pakistan to the present 2% of Pakistan.
What does that signify ? A slow but sure, deliberate and systematic elimination of non-muslims in Pakistan. Non-muslims are mostly coerced to convert to islam , or else killed.

Sarcasm is wasted on fools like you. So guess I have no choice but to be direct with somebody like you who is obviously so slow on the uptake.
Get off the moral high horse !!!
Your ill informed rantings against India is no different from those of an average semi-pakistani laut. Deliberating on certain aberrations in Indian history - may it be the anti-muslim Gujarat riots or maybe the anti-Sikh riots is something Pakistan has been doing for decades. Pakistan has harped for years about India`s various `faultlines` - `hindu fundamentalism` , `brahmin hegemony` , `anti-minoritysm` . In the 80s , Pakis thought the Khalistan moment would break India apart and played the sikh vs hindu card . But today Sikhs are so well integrated into the Indian society that not only do they enjoy a represenatation in Indian Armed Forces in multiples of their actual share in India`s population , but also occupy the highest executive post in India ..
Most muslims too are a part of the Indian mainstream , apart from a few loony fringe elements. Some of the richest/glamorous/powerful Indians are muslims. Muslims shape up India as much as hindus. Our popular president and the guy who built our missile defence system is a muslim. Indeed a wannabe muslim entrepreneur has better chances of being successful in India rather than in Pakistan. There are atleast 3 muslim $ billionaire entrepreneurs in India. How many do you have in Pakistan ? Zilch.
One such person is Azim Premji , head of WIPRO , a premier software company based in Bangalore , who was at one stage , during the dot-com boom (2000-01) the 3rd richest man in the world with assets worth $30bn. (I think he is currently worth $15-17bn).
You smugly talk about how you are so happy your father decided to migrate to the secular and progressive environs , I`m sure , of Pakistan. Azim Premji`s father ,Mr.Mohammad Premji , was invited by Jinnah himself to migrate to Pakistan and offered a top miunisterial position. You know what ? He refused. He stayed on in India.
And I`m sure wherever he is today , he does not regret his decision.
There is nothing new with Pakistanis questioning and mocking India`s secular credentials. Gujarat riots etc. provide a handy tool. But truth is something you can never tolerate. The truth is , India remains a resolutely secular (in violation of the 2-nation theory) , and despite its innumerable faults , which are but natural in a country with 1 billion people , offers its citizens that one precious feeling -HOPE. Hope of a better future.
(We can discuss the Gujarat riots in length - but I dont have the time for that right now. Briefly ,a mob of 2000-3000 muslims burnt alive 55 hindus , mostly women and children at Godhra station, hindus retaliated , killed 1800 muslims, raped a few hundred muslim women - it went on till the army was called in and put a stop to it. But whats important here is that the violence was restricted to Gujarat alone , rest of the country was peaceful. Rather than a hindu-muslim thing , Gujarat can be put down to `mob reaction` , mobs that got out of hand. Law and justice are now , slowly but surely taking their own course - many hundred of the accused ,both the hindus and muslims have been put behind bars , with expectations of severe punishments to follow. Indian media has reported fair and square(though some would say biased in favor of the muslims) on this issue , ragardless of the fact that `Nazi like hindu fundamentalists` were in charge then. Again , the theory of `hindu fundamentalism` is grotesquely exaggerated. )

Welcome to chowk !! I find your contribution most enlightening. I am so impressed by your `liberal` inclinations ! The world , I am sure is a better place with `liberals` like you around.
I must also say you make very interesting observations , particularly the one where you say that Pakistan never treated its hindus as badly as the bloody Indians treat their muslims. You very rightly allege that the ethnic cleansing of a `hapless minority` is a `hindu peculiarity`....
While I agree with you in spirit , what I do not understand is , how then did the population of muslims in India increase from 9% of the population of the country in 1950 , to the present 16% - while the number of hindus in Pakistan (or the then `East Pakistan`) has come down from a high of 13% of the population of the then East Paksitan in 1950 to the present 1. 25% of the population of Pakistan ???
But again, hell with logic , truth and other trivialities. As I said , I agree with you in spirit. If only India treated its muslims as fairly as Pakistan treats its hindus....
Such a lovely country , this Pakistan.

Regarding Z. Stuka , he belongs to the 1-2% IMs who are loyal to India. I have told him that. A tiny minority within a 160 million strong `minority`.

Well , agree with what Ralph said , but fact remains that for most of them there never really is any loyalty towards India. So any question of `changing loyalties` does not arise. Regarding Z. Stuka , he belongs to the 1-2% IMs who are loyal to India. I have told him that. A tiny minority within a 160 million strong `minority`.

From what I have been able to gather , Vertex is Indian by birth , (American by citizenship) ,Pakistani by heart - typical Indian muslim , in other words.
The Secularity of India
What could you say anyway ? You make `strawman` arguments , which when confronted with facts , collapse like a pack of cards. Your response to my assertion that Pakistan`s nukes are made in China ( an acknowledged fact - China being the supreme nuclear proliferator) and that Indian nukes are indigenous (India`s nuclear program began way back in 1956 , under Dr.Homi Jehangir Bhabha) , was that you find such statements laughable.
No point in saying anything to a pompous fool like you.

you pakis find the `truth` laughable ? Jeez..talk of comic clairvoyance...
Do you not agree with the fact that Indian nukes and missiles are indigenous , made by Indians , while Pakistan simply gets its nukes readymade from China and missiles from N.Korea ? Well , thats like -the truth.
Also , your statement saying you saw more povrty in India than in Pakistan does not hold true anymore. In 1990 , maybe that as the case , when 41% of India`s population and 20% of Pakistan`s population lived BPL (Below Poverty Line). Today , 23% of India`s population and 36% of Pakistan`s population lives BPL. Atleast according to agenies like World Bank , UNDP etc.
