I make a distinction between what's real and what's not. I spend lots (and lots) of time on EBay because numismatism is my #1 hobby, but at least the stuff I buy and sell and the the money I pay or receive is real. Contrast this with the folks who hang out on second life and other "virtual worlds", where they have avatars that possess all sorts of virtual characteristics and own virtual things. I think anything virtual is a waste of time and isn't worth much in the real world.
