Why do we bring God into the picture only when it suits us? Especially when we humans are getting ready to do a whole bunch of stupid things? This earth is ours and it is our job to keep it safe or blow it up. The force, power, big bang or whatever created this Earth and us, also gave us brains and the responsibility to use them properly. If we don't, we end up paying the price....as simple as that.

It is even more stupid to create a mess and then expect a God to appear in the sky and send down a miracle or rays of protection and healing to help us, as depicted in the more lurid mythological movies.
The responsibility rests with us, fair and square and if some leaders are using God to justify glorious death and destruction or resorting to hypocritical emotions and/or Bible-thumping to win skewed elections, both are only human and could therefore probably, be equally crazy, as only the human species can be.

Re: # 7

You say, a letter was sent from Prophet Mohammad!,"...The text of the letter sent to Heraclius....".

Was n't he illeterate? and even if he wasn't, where is the the proof? Where is the signature at the end of the letter? And finally are you sure this letter wasn't a fake? These things are quitre common in Turkey you know!!

Re: # 7
I wish Allah would drive some sense into the heads of nutty followers of His! Or is He himself is a little nutty?

It seems He is not very sucessful so far in all these big and small Islamic Paradises: S. Arabia --Pakistan--etc. etc. etc. Wa Salaam

Ref this article: "The Prophet's offer to the three recipients of his letters was: Convert to Islam and secure a place in paradise or cling to your beliefs and face the sword of Islam.

The statement in the italics is inaccurate and milsleading. Some of the original letters written by Holy prophet (pbuh) have been preserved in the Topkapi museum in Turkey by Ottomans. The images of those letters are available on the net and can be accessed to through google.

Now the letter written to Herculius, the Roman Emperor, nowhere mentions the threat of invasion if the offer to accept Islam is not accepted. It is quite unfortunate. the author should have researched better. Here is the text of the letter. The same text repeats for for all three Christian Kings. The King of Ethiopia even converted to Islam under no threat, but rather at the hand of Muslims who escaped persecution of Meccans and were given refuge by the King:.

The text of the letter sent to Heraclius was as follows:

“In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. This letter is from Muhammad the slave of Allah and his Apostle to Heraclius, the ruler of the Byzantines. Peace be upon him who follows the right path. Furthermore, I invite you to Islam and if you become a Muslim you will be safe, and Allah will double your reward, and if you reject this invitation of Islam you will be committing a sin by misguiding your subjects. And I recite to you Allah's statement:

“O People of the Scriptures! Come to a word common to you and us that we worship none but Allah and that we associate nothing in worship with Him, and that none of us shall take others as Lords beside Allah. Then if they turn away, say: Bear witness that we are Muslims (those who have surrendered to Allah). (Qur’an: 3:64).”

AHMADINEJAD ON YOUTUBE - PART1

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDsDQCfZQ-I

The footage shows the reason why the forces of evil, neocolonialism, and kuffar are so hateful towards him.

On the other hand by addressing and conveying the message of peace, justice, and Islam to superpower of this time Ahamdinejad has paid the debt of his ancestors of the time when Holy prophet (pbuh) sent a letter to the Persian Emperor of his time inviting him to his salvation, social justice and eqaulity. And the arrogant emperor tore the letter and scoffed at the invitation. Ahmadinejad is blessed because he has been given an opprotunity by Divinity to convey the message of salvation in the fine tradition and sunnah of Holy Prophet (pbuh)...Allahuakbar.

The rule of god is very true for pakistan, not for iran as much. If god wants to destroy, first he makes them mad.

See pakistan, troops are enmasse surrendering to the jihadis, the military uniform teh symbol of partiotism and protection of the nation is now a symbol of disgrace in pakistan.

What more can one ask from god.

SC writes in his ilog “I am amazed by the quality of our leaders, past and present. They are never wrong and always have solid rationales for their actions - not to mention 4th and 5th level contingency planning.”

Not too different from the US talking the "democracy" talk and walking with the dictators and the mullahs...this merely reflects that our "leaders" have been socialized well into their status position by the US elite...

The only threat to the world today are peons like the two demented dimwits who have put their comments below. This entire Iran crisis is a manufactured crisis, manufactured by the US elite, in an area in which they have a long tradition of not only supporting dictators, suppressing the people's voices and aspiration but also the barbarism of the kind we see in Iraq- using all lies in the book.

Now when the Mullahs in Iran have been used by the Americans, strengthened by the Americans both against the democratic government of Mossadeq, as well as against the Shah when he became more powerful and then to wholesale wipe out the left's leadership in Iran, what should we expect in this posturing now? That the US was helping the Shah's Iran develop just this kind of nuclear power so that it would free the domestic use of oil is a historical fact, that every country has the right not only to develop nuclear technology for its power use but given that a few belligerent, barbaric and historically unreliable and trigger happy states have nuclear weapons, Iran has every right to have one as well. That Iran was moving leftwards before the nuclear issue was given undue dominance by the US elite which halted this leftward move and drove power right back to the Mullahs is also a fact. That this drive towards the Mullahs has helped them and has helped the foreign policy agenda of the war mongers among the US elite is a fact as well. Ahmadenejad is merely leeching off the status that the power state has given him, that of a magnanimous (tantamount to Hitler according to the Fox News) bullwark against imperialism- something that he didn't earn nor deserve. Neither he nor Iran (post the hostage crisis) have done anything at all to deserve the hate of the US public or be shown in images of the kind that are depicted. It is all a media blitz to convert a quite normal human being into a boogeyman that needs to be stopped because he is on a mad rampage, for those who remember how the Saddam image was constructed by this very same corporate media, would say deja vu...In all this the voice and struggle of the people is coopted while the larger of the two Shaitans sets the agenda for the damn fools to posture (with their third rate missiles) and confuse the people regarding the real bread and butter issues facing the world....

There are so many demented heads of states in the world today with enough followers. - N.Korea, Mynmar, Iran etc. I am sure there will be more in the future too.

Some time where this God who is praised and worshipped as all powerful, kind, compassionate, all knowing etc. etc. Has he gone to sleep , I wonder!!! especially Allah who can not drive evenan iota of good sense into the head of loonies like Ahmednijad.

That illiterate monkey needs to be put behind the cage and put in the zoo. He is the most convoluted copy of a mullah in a suit. He is infact a puppet of the ayotollahs.

The best way out would be to let the mullahs kill the ayotollahs and vice versa.

The world would be safer then.
