They said the same thing abt war on Vietnam. It's Vietnam war all the way for American media.

American media is biased. They never tell the truth.

Good article to read.

As for 'war in Iraq', it's a wrong phrase hammered into the minds of Americans. It's war 'on' Iraq or occupation of Iraq.

They said the same thing abt war on Vietnam war. It's Vietnam war all the way. American media is biased. They never tell the truth.

Good morning America...err...Mr. Siddiqui,

Sorry for not being a good boy; I have not read your movie reviews. You know how things were over here with our own movie shoot out in Liaqat Bagh! :(

Once you're done, please write a review of THIS book:
http://www.tarpley.net/bushb.htm

It does NOT matter who wins. The policy must change for the entire world; many are America's jilted lovers.

Sleep well then. Those wearing the aid-diapers HERE are already wetting their beds spending sleepless nights.

Peace as always.

Setting aside the usual skepticism and cynicism in national races. I think Barack Husain Obama does bring a breath of fresh air into the process. He has clearly been a phenomenon not noticed by all the pundits and pollsters in the early primaries. Obama is very inspirational and offers new hope for America and the world. After being widely ridiculed, Obama has also backtracked on his earlier statements about the US troops crossing into Pakistan in hot pursuit. Hilary and McCain, on the other hand, have supported Bush in all of his misguided policies...Iraq, Patriot Act, shredding of the US bill of rights, the Middle East, Iran,..etc. I think it's time for the Americans to elect someone who can do damage control and reverse the slide in US perception among our friends and foes alike. It's time to emphasize soft power and diplomacy.

Ras:

I think both Obama and Clinton are unelectible. If Obama is the Dem's nominee we shall see some interesting campaign commercials in September and October from "independent and centrist" organizations, such as:

1) Hot Middle Name: Showing Saddam and Obama in the same picture and telling us hey we kicked Hissein's ass in Iraq, now why would we elect Barack Hussein Obama?

2) Bimbo Eruptions: A 14 year old white suburban girl relating how she thought Obama was alright, but how her Mom cried when she knew about the alleged affair. Hey y'all, would you want your child molested that way by a black man?

3) Tax and spend: Obama will raise the cap on FICA taxes, so watch out for yourn pocket book folks.

4) Obama's slumlord buddy: How did Obama extend his lot to build his mansion in the Chicago burbs?

5) Hard drug use: Hey Obama's book is interesting reading, Mr Obama confessed to using some hard drugs didn't he? Will he be sober or stoned when he's the commander in chief?

So my money's on McCain, the good old white protestant candidate that we can all trust.

Re: # 4
In a society where consent is manufactured and polls swing from one end of the spectrum to the other based on what the corporate media decides to give prominence to, you cannot judge the pulse of the nation based on who they vote for- there are saner more scientific ways of guaging what is going on.

how true.... very true indeed.

Would you say the same for the "islamic" countries?

Masadi sahib,

(they rescued capitalism when it was down on its knees by initiating a mild watered down version of socialism )

That at least shows that democratic capitalist societies have built in mechanisms which can correct things if they go bad. Little such devices are avilable to the kind of systems (Marxists???) that you obviously admire.

hamid writes "..that and the fact that they are easier on my pocketbook ..."

Yeah they feed the rich man with tax breaks and what not at the expense of the poor and social welfare programs- this again being their myopic short term vision, the democrats fully vested in the same system have more long term vision they rescued capitalism when it was down on its knees by initiating a mild watered down version of socialism that the republicans have been trying to do away with keeping the balance with rampant militarism and military spending....as usual the rationale of the "sage of the sewers", i.e. hamid stinks sky high....

Gender and race in america are certainly control criteria for the very vast majority of African Americans and women in the US, only those who are illiterate about social statistics regarding these groups will conclude in an infantile manner that just because Hillary and Obama are running, gender and race have become non-issues. In a society where consent is manufactured and polls swing from one end of the spectrum to the other based on what the corporate media decides to give prominence to, you cannot judge the pulse of the nation based on who they vote for- there are saner more scientific ways of guaging what is going on.

Madani sahib no republican has been good for Pakistan ever in the long run, and when the democrats show lack of interest in this country- meaning when they leave us the hell alone- that short term belt tightening is what Pakistan needs to wean itself off of US bs and doing their agenda...
